Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) - Ladera Park reviews
17 Minimal wait time for an early Monday morning lab work appoinment. Front staff people were helpful and friendly. However, once it came time to draw blood, the young female technician (didn't get her name) couldn't find the vein in either of my arms, and seemed unsure of herself before pricking me. I've gotten my blood drawn 4-5 times this year alone without issues. On top of her not being to find the veins, she forgot to release the rubber band around my arm which made the blood pressure in my vein push out the needle and blood proceeded to squirt out. And, she didn't correctly switch vials, so I had one full vial and a 1/10th of a second one from my left arm. She made up an excuse that something went wrong, switched arms, couldnt find the vein again, finally found it, remembered to undue the rubber band and the second vial was finally completed. The whole situation was really awkward and she knew that I knew she had messed up. Now I look like I have track marks on both arms and the only reason I'm writing this is to inform the location that she may possibly need to go to a refresher training.
Oh, and like another reviewer stated–my urine sample was also placed in the metal urine window along with someone else's sample. Not only is this unsanitary, but I could've literally read another patient's confidential infomation. I'm sure this violates some type of patient HIPPA rights law.
Extremely slow service! Have had two people in front of me for 20 minutes. Started number 12 in line. Going on two hours. Find another lab!
Do not get it done with a lady named ANGIE
She was horrible
They do not have enough small butterfly needles
Pathetic
My blood required a special test so my dr.gave me a box with instructions for cpllabs to draw the blood and then ship it to this special lab. This location didn't handle my blood properly and it arrived HEMOLYZED. Now I have to do the test again! I am so upset. I hardly ever write bad reviews, but I can't believe they messed up my blood and now everything is delayed. I will never go back to this location.
Quoted 30 min wait. It’s now been 1.5 hours, sitting in a waiting room with about 12 chairs not roped off and at least 20 people crammed in here - so much for social distancing! I’ve had to come here twice before with similarly long and inaccurate wait times. Just a very poorly run, understaffed location. And during covid, I just feel unsafe waiting here but i critically need this lab work done!
*Update: just did urinalysis and the metal box you put the sample in reeked of urine and had someone else’s sample still in it. Never encountered this at any doctor’s office before! YUCK!
I went to this clinic for blood test. I had asked for butterfly needle in the beginning because of tiny veins I have.the lady named Cassie (patient service center supervisor) ignored my ask completely and used their regular needle to draw my blood. First try didn’t work and she went and finally got the butterfly needle and poked my left arm.she kept poking into my vein (very painful for me) and didn’t get any blood out. She then bothered to explain to me that the clinic required them to use regular needles and only when those failed then they could use butterfly needles. She then left to get another lady (who said she was a team lead) to draw my blood who told me there was no rule.so I got poked twice for nothing just because of their internal misaligned practices! The third time finally worked with a butterfly needle.
Had they cared to listen to their customers.this would not have happened to me. Very disappointed in their comms and services. I went to this clinic because of their positive reviews but got a very negative experience.
I always go to this CPL location even though it's not the closest one to my house. It's always organized and the phlebotomists have never needed a second try.
I have been having to get many blood draws for ivf. This location has been the best out of the 4 others I have had to try to use (had to try others due to time/location.) They are organized and their process is the same everytime, draw is flawless!
Short wait time @ 7: 30 AM. Parisa did a great job drawing blood. Didn't feel it go in. One of the few times where drawing blood has not been an ordeal. Kudos and ask for Parisa if you go in.
One of the worst places to get blood drawn. The phlebotomist bruised and injured my wife's veins on both arms and still could not draw the blood. Blood spilled over her arm and they could not even bandage it. Inexperienced staff who didn't even bother to apologize. Stay away from this place.
Long wait times for simple blood draws and very crowded because of it. Not a desireable place to have to go.
Front desk staff is terrible. I walked in and stood there for a while before anyone acknowledged me and I was standing less than 4 feet from them, they could see me and heard the door shut when I walked in. They continued to loudly talk and laugh amongst themselves, when they finally noticed me, they were very dismissive, told "sign in there".
I just left, I'll be going to another location. I take my health very seriously and this place doesn't.
I noticed that this place had some bad reviews lately so I was hesitant to go there, but my experience was good. Nobody was rude and the wait was not too long.
I’m giving 2 stars for the ladies that take my blood. They’re sweet and fast!
NOW, The front office staff either eat, ignore, angry or pretend NOT to notice a new client that enters the building (maybe they don’t say hello to POC?). They also enjoy having an interesting conversation that all can hear. And when you finally get the opportunity to talk to you, they are very disrespectful- throwing cards at you like you want to play catch with your insurance card! AND not bothering to look for your “faxed” over lab paperwork!
Oh the sitting area! The chairs looked very questionable-that’s all I have to say. Questionable!
I’ve read most of the reviews and all the negative reviews are very accurate about the front desk area. The 5 stars reviews about the staff and how clean this place is.seem fake- very fake.
Don't understand the negative reviews. Efficient and friendly staff.
Place was spotless.
I get my blood drawn here at least once every few months, and the staff are always nice and friendly. Blood draws are usually an *ordeal* for me, but they always allow me to lie down and even bring me cold water to stop me from starting to faint. At times the line can be very long, but that has nothing to do with staff and is not a reflection of their excellent level of service.
Had a good time here. There were no viable stick sites in my arms so he had to go for my hand. I promptly passed out. They responded extraordinarily well and all was fine! They weren't able to get even a drop of blood though.
