Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) - James Casey reviews
15The first time I went to get my blood draw a less experienced phlebotomist drew my blood and the vial was incorrectly mixed, my vein blew, and I fainted. That is fine, I am in healthcare. When they called to let me know I needed to redraw due to the mixing of the vials, they told me to ask for their manager or most experienced phlebotomist. That is exactly what I did. Despite this, I was sent back with the same lady as my initial visit. When I again requested for the manager, the manager then said to me and I quote, “you already asked that three times. ” Needless to say I only asked twice, and in a kind manner. Was trying to be diligent and ask quietly so I did not upset the individual who drew my blood last week. Just trying to advocate for myself as a patient and was left feeling embarrassed and belittled. Never going to this location again.
There's a need for later hours for your labs. Also, the closing at lunch hour closing poses a barrier to service. We're a big city and demand for lab work is high.
I've been here minimum 5 times in the past 2 years and staff have always been kind and patient
Very slow service. Be ready to wait for more than 1 hour after check in for insurance info and then another hour just to get the lab done.
Front desk reception is extremely rude! They act so bothered that you came in as if it’s something you can avoid.
The are fast and efficient. Everyone I have encountered has been polite and courteous. I am here 3 times a week for at least 1 - 2 weeks a months always a good experience.
Had a male phlebotomist take my blood today and he was so good I never felt the needle go in. Appreciate expertise like that since it can be anxiety-provoking to do lab work. He said he sees pediatric clients I guess because he's so gentle. Shout out to this employee, yes the wait can be a while because there are not enough CPL sites in South Austin, but in the end it's typically the blood draw you want to go smoothly.
They “lost” my blood sample. Gave me a tracking number from 4 months ago and said they don’t know what happened. Not professional
Never go here, they do not know what they are doing. They charged us and messed up and did a test for something we didn’t request.
Received excellent customer service from all staff, didn't have an appointment and the wait time was short. Thank you!
When I walked in they could tell I was very nervous and uptight they immediately addressed my questions got me checked in and got me called back being that I have a fear of needles the phlebotomist was very sensitive and never harmed me or hurt me didn't even know the needle went in.
If you have to get your blood drawn this is the place to do it.
Place has terrible service. It’s teeming with patients and the staff is just standing around. Do not come here
This lab does not follow their posed break schedule and doesn’t take appointments. Both times I have visited I have had poor service and long wait times.
Unhelpful staff, refused to call another CPL facility for records, and generally rude demeanor, essentially from the larger pink haired lady.
Horrible phlebotomists. Both locations I went to. They completely went through the vein and dug around for a while trying to find it. Absolutely no excuse. I’m very fit and have veins like garden hoses. They should send everyone of their phlebotomists back to school.
