Collin County Tax Assessor-Collector: Vehicle Registration, McKinney TX

I recently purchased a boat and trailer from out of state. Went in to register the trailer. The process was painless. I should have gotten her name but I was at window #7. The person helping me was awesome.answered questions I had and processed everything efficiently and painlessly. I was lucky to have gotten her window. I appreciate that the office was staffed and open regular hours.

I love paying the state for the right to use my own property! Even better is when I get my the honor of submitting my personal property to the state so it can be inspected! It is awesome to live in Texas, where the government just leaves you alone and let's you be free.

Transferred vehicle title here. There was no wait Friday morning. The staff was super nice. I was expecting grumpy staff, but was pleasantly surprised!

I was helped by a very nice bilingual woman who chatted/distracted my toddler while I wrote out the check.

Seriously, I wish all country offices were operated this way.

I got here 15 min to closing today, a Tues. Both ladies who helped me were very kind and helpful. I came for my Vehicle Registration. But as I was leaving I realized I also needed to get a renewed Handicap tag and the box was out of applications. The kind lady behind the counter noticed and handed me one. I went in exhausted and hurting so the fast work and kindness of both of these ladies made my day. Thank you. Sadly I didn't get their names.

Lines were short at 10 AM. Very friendly customer service. They were very patient to answer all my questions.

Excellent service. Waited in line only a few minutes to get Texas license plates. Everyone there was friendly and cheerful.

Really disappointed in the service here. I came in to get current registration for a vehicle that had been off the road for a few years. I had current insurance, inspection even a temporary permit to drive it. The lady at the counter couldn't pull up the vehicle at all, even with all the paperwork I had on hand. She got fusterated with me and said your vehicle was never regestered in Texas, then had the nerve to say I'm not even from here, so! We are talking about a truck with a blue Texas title that had been in my name for many years. I was really astonished at the incompetence at this office. I took the same paperwork to the tax office in Plano and was in and out with my new registration and plates in less than 5 minutes.

Fran was so hopeful with getting my placards renewed and picking up personalized plates. Fast, professional and so pleasant! Thank you for your help!

Short lines mid day and the friendliest staff! Dropped in on motor vehicle registration thinking I didn't really have time and then walked right in! Easy, affordable and necessary evil.

Now if they could've just updated my drivers license!

Everyone here is helpful and friendly but the lines are long and it can be very crowded we did go on July 31 the end of the month so maybe that makes a difference, what I love about this place is how everything is all put together under one roof and the court house is next door, looks very clean and fresh looking I thought it was a brand new building.

Extremly helpful staff who are patient and knowledgable of the process. Makes car registration painless and quick. Thank you!
