Comfort Inn & Suites Beachfront, Galveston TX

Where do I even begin. Pool so overly chlorinated that it made me nauseous. Mold on A/C, curtains and bedding. The bathtub felt like I was going to fall through the floor. Same with the flooring in the room, felt like we were going to fall through. Constant construction which left debris everywhere and they left the scaffolding out on our balcony overnight which made me nervous about someone able to climb up onto our balcony. Just overall a bad experience and we will not stay here again, especially for the price.

My husband and I checked into the hotel and was supposed to be on the 3rd floor and when we got here she said that we were going to to be on the first floor. She switched us to a 3rd floor room and the window in the room was broken and had a hole in the top of the glass and was a joining room that we said we didn’t want. So she moved us to the 2nd floor because there was not a room on the 3rd floor. We get to the room on the 2nd floor and there is mold above the balcony door, the railing on the balcony is broken and ready to fall off, the door to the balcony does not lock. The microwave in the room doesn’t work. The Pros is that it is across the street from the beach and it is a good location.

The cleaning crew never made the bed or emptied the trash, but otherwise, the room was nice and clean.

Room 302 was filthy, dust everywhere, damaged furniture, broken window with a hole in the corner, mold growing on the walls, curtains not clean at all and the floor was slopping and felt bouncy

I never stayed at a choice hotel like this before. While waiting to be check-in a guest asked for some water and they was told by the manager (Sam) no free water. Very bad situation on my hand. Room was past dirty. To be honest with choice hotel this hotel need to be removed from the choice list period. Notice I stated I had pictures and not once did they request to see them. Anyway I stayed in room 222. They don’t care because they have your money already. The owner know he should have requested to see pictures and refunded me my money. The right thing to do anyway I added the pictures

Absolutely disgusting! Terrible customer service. Filty rooms. Cockroaches scrambling all over our personal belongings. To say ocean view is a joke, we booked an 'Ocean View' room and had nothing but a view of the building next door and the parking lot. We asked for a refund for the cockroaches in the room we paid for and were told they could do that but they'd evict us from the hotel if they did. It was a cruise weekend and nowhere else had rooms available. Additionally we were with our family of 6 in three different rooms, we were definitely not going to find 3 rooms somewhere else so we could stay together.

Came down for breakfast at 9: 20, waited 5 minutes for refills because everything was empty. Since no refill happened I went to the front to ask if there was any hot breakfast. The lady in the front was dealing with a few customers so when she finally got to me her response was “my computer says 9: 29 so breakfast is over. ” I told her I was here during the time of breakfast and I have a family to feed so she finally agreed to put more stuff out there. Well she made eggs but no sausage. And I also got cereal with no milk. I had to check out early because I needed to feed my family. Won’t be back.

Update: Owner responded to my review saying their policy says breakfast ends at 9am. Then why is your staff writing 6: 30-9: 30 on our key cards? Great policy.

The room was nice and clean just didn't have an ocean view but it's right across the street from the ocean. We enjoyed our stay. They also offer breakfast that starts at 6 am they even still had food up until 10 am. About $300 a night to stay here. We stayed here for our wedding trip.

This dump canceled our reservation 20 minutes after check in at 4: 00 pm on a holiday weekend when pricing at other hotels was through the roof. The owner, Neel Shah, was unbelievably rude and would not correct the mistake. The terms of reservation clearly said payment was not due u til check in but they ran it anyway with the card we used to hold the room and when it was declined he gave the room away. We have are 2 single moms with 2,12 year old girls. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel.

We love this hotel for so many reasons.first of all it's beach front so just Walk across seawall Blvd (look both ways) and there's beach access stairs also each room has its own private balcony but the best room there is room 302.a 3rd floor corner room with a living room area, a comfy king size bed with fluffy pillows and a down comforter.microwave and fridge and the best part fantastic beach view plus Free breakfast. The location is perfect. Right in the middle.of all the shops and restaurants.

Live bed bugs, noisy appliances, broken mattress, staff that CUSSES and yells at you, and mold on shower curtains. They double charged for my stay in a room with bed bugs. Cancelled the 2nd charge but did not give me the original refund they said they would. I have the original statement from my day of checkout that reflected no charge was to be made for the first night. I waited the time frame they told me that I would see the refund in my account (10 days) and it never showed up. Now when I call, the same woman who cussed at me the first time said I'm harassing them & they can't help me. GM still has yet to call me and discuss any of this him/herself.

Cons-The breakfast offered is more of a Continental breakfast. Cereal, muffins, toast, waffles, yogurt, pre-packaged microwaved eggs & sausage didn't look appetizing. Would be great if bananas, oranges, biscuits, and gravy were an added option. Pros -Rooms were very clean, and comfortable. Peaceful, quiet and felt safe, great customer service, great location, and covered parking. I definitely recommend this hotel for a Galveston beach vacation

Our room was a king w/ large balcony (very partial seaview 2nd floor) & a jacuzzi tub in bathroom large enough to fit 4 ppl but just right for my 6'8 husband & me. Also had separate shower for rinsing off after the beach. Room was immaculately clean & stocked. AC cold. TV large. For a Saturday busy weekend in may we paid $269 all in & would do it again. The big fishing pier is right there along with the putt putt golf & everything you need or want within walking or driving. Has indoor pool with hot tub. Those were pretty small & smelled like the YMCA with all the chlorine but that's to be expected to keep the germs down I guess. The towels at the pool were better used as floor mats.they were rough! Check-in was polite & we got late checkout which is always nice for the price. Missed the breakfast but it looked good. Thank you for a great staycation.

You can walk to beach or to Fisherman's pier.
Close to every thing.
Clean rooms!
Price is great for location.
We will be coming again next year.

And it is far away from almost any restaurants as in 100 degree weather my family had to walk 4 miles
the place was over heated with internet connection that broke up every 30 seconds and stains all over the mirror and bedsheets.

Don't get a room with a hot tub and expect it to work! Someone had to of seen that the button to turn on/off didn't work. In very poor condition- could use some work.
Great location Right across from the strand. We got a room with a balcony. Not the greatest view, but a view none the less.
Safe area with parking deck and additional parking areas.
The rooms were spacious but the cleaning service must be lacking in many areas. We got the hot tub room and there were lots of hairs in the tub (other people's hair- eeekkkk)!
There tiles in the bathroom could use a re-grout. When you step on the, they literally rock. There is not much holding them in place
Breakfast was hot and fresh. They had the typical cereal, muffins juices, waffles, eggs & sausage.
Check in is 430pm.

I normally prefer Choice Hotels over anywhere else, but this was the least favorite place I stayed in TX.

We had two rooms. Both were musty, one was hot the other was cold, they were small and the balcony view pretty much looked at another building. We wanted to watch the sunrise, but it was blocked.

Breakfast was just plain bad. Dumped out the coffee and the orange juice (thankfully there is a great little coffee place at the pier across the street) and opted for yogurts as the sausage and eggs were sketchy looking.

Parking garage was creepy (flickering lights, reminded my son of a horror movie) but no one bothered the car, so I guess that's a plus.

We only stayed one night and switched to another hotel. I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

The location of this hotel was great.we were right across from the seawall and we were walking distance from a lot of stores. The only real issue we had was the view from the balcony and the sweet we book wasn't the right one.still not bad for the price though

Served its purpose. A one night stay. Room showed its age. However they were clean. Pretty good continental breakfast. Location is close to restaurants and shopping. You will need to walk a little further to get to the crosswalk toward the beach.
