Common Bond Bistro & Bakery - City Place, Spring TX

Common Bond is absolutely exceptional, the brunch and the lunch options are excellent. I came here 3 times during a business trip.

Whoever makes the brussel sprouts in this place deserves to go to heaven and have all exceptionally wonderful things happen to them through life, so freaking good,

One of the worst to-go order experiences today… waited 25 minutes to get a bland-overcooked soup and a soggy wrap.

The coffee is not good. It has inconsistent flavor and is typically unbalanced. The interior is typically dirty and many of the fabric seats are stained - looks like an infant excreted on them. Disappointing as the surrounding community is delightful.

Everything I’ve tried here is delicious! The morning roll and kouign-amann were especially good.

Not a great experience.

I came here once a LONG time ago. So, I just came back and walked up and asked where the menus are and she (young girl with glasses, monotone) points to the stand behind me. I asked for a sprite along with my tortilla soup - she says there’s no sprite and points behind me. By this point since she doesn’t get context clues I say I haven’t been here in forever so it’d be helpful to tell me these things as if I’m new. She says nothing.

I order the soup and drink. She doesn’t tell me to grab the drink. I assumed it would be brought out with my order.

Soup comes out and the bowl is hot and the soup itself is cold. I tell the young man in a black shirt and glasses and he says “it’s cold because of the sour cream” the whole bowl is cold because of sour cream in the center? Make it make sense.

He says he will reheat the food and I say I will order something else. No apologies. Nothing.

I ordered margherita pizza. No one brought my drink.

I’ll never come back.

I love brunch at Common Bond. I've been to both the Montrose and Springwood village (City Place) locations and always had a good experience. I've tried multiple things on the menu now and without fail they have been great. (The salmon, quiche Lorraine, Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, chocolate croissants, lavender cheesecake, and the Kouign Amann - a must now). The staff here were so friendly and the chef even accommodated my special request. I highly recommend Mango Mimosas too!

I’ve been coming here since the day it opened. So many changes for the better! The staff is personable, friendlier and customer service is so much better with new management.

Food was decent. Steak and eggs were good but we ordered medium and they brought it rare with blood dripping out. We ended up sending the steak back and they brought a whole new plate which was nice. Chicken soup wasn’t very good. Coffee was good. Lattes were well made. Service, was not very good. A few employees did it seem to be happy to work there. Which is kind of the norm now a days.

Over all we spent about 160 dollars for 5 people.

I’ve been coming here often with friends and the experience food wise is always good, service wise: it’s a hit or MISS. TODAY though was different, ILEANA gave us a very easy friendly welcoming encounter and it was consistent throughout the entire time. She made our drinks (which were good), got us water even though it is self-serve, and even had conversation with us as she cleaned. I am surprised she’s still here as people with her potential often move on to bigger and better quick.

Great service and my egg was really good, but the biscuits and gravy were so bad. Even the biscuits by themselves were dry and just bad. I got it to go but it's a very simple meal.
I will try this place another time, like on the weekend for breakfast or dinner but man, don't order the biscuits and gravy.

If you love good food and drinks, I highly recommend stopping by here! Plus the service is fantastic! Issac and Sapphire truly made the entire experience memorable from start to finish. They show true passion in their work. Issac makes the best coffee, and Sapphire handled everything with class, she wowed us with everything common bond has to offer. We will definitely be back, I am looking forward to seeing these two again

I’ve been to this location a lot over the past year and service was never as good as Ileana’s. Me and a friend sat at the bar today and was taken back about how nice Ileana was to us. Thank you for your service and see you soon Ileana!

This is a great place to enjoy delicious pastries and coffee with friends or a date. This is one of the few coffee shops that actually have hefty ceramic mugs for their coffee. I couldn't give them 5 stars only because they didn't have plain old white sugar at the coffee station. I had to go and ask them for that.

Both their coffee and pastries are delicious. I had a pistachio croissant, and my date had a plain croissant. Both tasted freshly baked. I give their coffee a solid 8 out of 10. That is high praise from me.

The inside of this bistro had plenty of seating that afforded privacy for its patrons.

I will definitely be coming back!

The Chef Marcus came out to assist us with wanting an item no longer available and he did not disappoint! I’m looking forward to going back knowing my order is in the best hands. He was amazing!

The portions of food is decent for price. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good but it wasn’t spicy.
The atmosphere was great but they have a huge horse fly problem so between fanning the flies away and protecting my meal I can still say the food was decent but you guys have to remedy the insect problem.

Common Bond at City Place is tan excellent spot for quality time with friends and family. Crystal consistently delivers exceptional service, always wearing a welcoming smile and maintaining a positive attitude. The Latte here is among the finest, highly recommended for a delightful experience.
