First impressions were terrible. I scheduled an initial visit for an in person meeting with a male doctor. Showed up for my appointment and they changed it to a virtual appointment with a woman. I specifically asked for an in person meeting when I called to schedule. It was obviously changed after the fact. This was my first visit to this place. I don’t want to pay $350 to zoom call someone. That’s bull! And of course, they didn’t call or tell me that. Next available appointment is a month out. I already waited two weeks for this one.
Terrible service, poor communication.
Edited Review and gave them an extra star for continued performance. The Indian doctor has only rescheduled on us once after we scheduled an appointment and it was moved. He doesn’t go deep into therapy. He strictly writes pills and asks how you are doing on the pills. He doubled depression medication because it was not working as well. Doubled, seems kind of steep. I’m not the doctor.

Kaytlon Fields says it all in her review. Terrible place that doesn’t help. It’s just a money grab. Patient had high blood pressure and chest pains and no medical intervention was offered. 30 minute snap “diagnosis”/judgement with total disregard for previous medication regimes. Sure, some meds may take time to work but when a person is having these symptoms the doctor needs to help. Do not go here!

Addition to initial review here, the rest is below with a space between paragraphs:
They refuse to provide a super bill/encounter form, as well as all claims sent to my insurance company regarding my “care” at this facility. This is just another way in which they have violated my patient rights, as they did the entire time I attended PHP/IOP. All I hear from people is horror stories about this place. The place where I receive IOP care now is the same- they told me they would never refer anybody to connections Wellness group due to all they’ve heard from clients and all the really terrible things this place does. I warn anybody who is seeking therapeutic or psychiatric care to run as far away from this place as possible. I am not exaggerating when I say this place is highly unethical and corrupt.
I came to this place to get care for my trauma and came back out with MORE trauma. Seriously… please seek help anywhere but here.

This organization is unethical and fundamentally flawed. I consistently received poor care in multiple departments and from multiple providers. I can name one provider-therapist Jesse-who actually provided genuine care, and I actually believed he cared about me/his other clients in the IOP. Otherwise, the way they treat people is pretty disgusting. This is business, first and foremost. It’s not about actually helping with your mental health care- they just want your money. I could go on with many details as to how they provided unethical care-Darren Shang refusing to provide psycho-education, being on another client’s chart during our appointments, etc-as well as being gaslit by Angela (don’t know her last name) and other employees. I can say that trying to get trauma care here actually traumatized me further. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Again, this organization is fundamentally flawed and unethical, and it’s shocking to me that they haven’t run themselves into the ground-yet.

Recently became a patient here and the flexible scheduling and payment options made it a no-brainer for me. I first found out about Connections through several recommendations of people on Facebook. Chris Shade is phenomenal, honest, and takes things at an appropriate pace without lingering on topics for too long, or skipping over important subjects. Looking forward to continuing my journey here and exploring other diagnosis and treatment options they offer!

Update: the doctor ant my sons new treatment center in Dallas said the diagnosis was COMPLETELY wrong! The incompetence of this is outrageous. Reporting the practitioner and center to the state. AVOID at all cost. Absolute horrible care coordination for my son. They completely failed to follow up, failed to get him the help he needed, were EXTREMELY rude. The left hand doesn’t speak to the right hand. And even when you complain to the office manager absolutely nothing happens. It was the absolute worst experience with a mental health clinic I’ve ever had. They need to have more experienced staff doing their intake assessments who have actual experience and compassion for children with emotional disturbances. The failure to follow up put my son at significant risk and they didn’t even bother to apologize or do the right thing to refer him to someone else. They just completely dropped the ball and then didn’t bother. If I could write this is zero stars I would.

As someone who has been to several treatment centers, I can confidently say this is the best by far! Caring staff, safe environment, great treatment approach, very empowering groups and LGBTQ+ friendly. I highly recommend!

Terrible online payment system. My account has been locked for months and my balance keeps adding up. I've tried calling multiple times. No one answers or returns my messages. I've never in my life had so much trouble getting someone to take my money. I'm afraid the balance is so high now that, when I pay it, it will make a problem for my monthly budget.

Wow. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have severe panic attacks and I found a bunch of doctors listed at this facility on my online benefits. Haven’t taken meds for a while so when they offered the full screening to see what providers to pair me with, I figure “that sounds reasonable! ” So I complete the screening and the intake specialist recommends intensive outpatient care multiple days a week for hours a day smack dab in the middle of my work days. Not to mention I’m a business owner with my own life? Outpatient care is usually for individuals who are really struggling to function or have suicidal ideations, so this felt really odd. I pushed back and asked if they could set me up with a therapist weekly and a psychiatrist and they said they don’t have availability for that really, but the IOP would get me specialized care and “quicker results” as if mental health maintenance is a friggen weight loss program or something. I wish I had read the reviews before wasting my morning.

My care providers are awesome. Both people who i see are great. Carla Lopez and Morna Agoki are really great and are very professional. However office staff for billing is quite annoying. I never dealt with a more unorganized group when it comes for billing. I understand that there short staffed but so is the rest of the world. I don't like the fact that dealing with anyone but my care providers is a hassle and quite obnoxious. If it weren't for how awesome those two are, I would switch providers.

This place is the worst. My husband never asks for help but he reached out to these people and they didn't care about how much pressure he was under. He went in for mental help but they treated him like a drug addict. They didn't care about helping him what so ever. They tried to put him in a drug class but he doesn't even do drugs. These people don't listen. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to this place what so ever. Absolutely the worst place in Denton to try and get mental health help. They don't care if he lived or died. Just didn't care about helping him. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else but this place.

I have to add more to my review: I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH THE BILLING DEPARTMENT. I paid my co-pay right before my visit, and almost every week, I have a balance for visits that I already PAID. I am seeing a therapist for anxiety, and my anxiety is getting worse every time I open my portal to make a payment because I have overdue balances. How hard is it to keep client accounts balanced? This is not a "mom-and-pop" business. I had a therapist who did her own billing, and we never had these issues. How is it that a company this large has so many billing issues?
I have nothing against Connections Wellness Group. The group is great! They have great therapists, and my therapist is the greatest of them all. The reason for one star is for the BILLING OFFICE. This office doesn't ever answer the phone; it prompts you to leave a message, and it takes a VERY LONG TIME for anyone to return your messages. When they return your message, they ask that you email them, and when you email them, you never get an answer from them (at least, I haven't gotten an email back since November). I have a credit card on file, and I keep getting messages asking to pay my balance when I give them a card to charge to. I've been leaving messages for the past two weeks and have not heard from anyone yet. Please have someone answer the phone during business hours. Some of us work during the day, can't make phone calls, and wait for someone to call back.

They did not help me at all. They just want your money. Save you some time and go find another place!

My biggest regret is not following and taking the advice I got from Tomas McCall. Everyday I use something that he has taught me, and I am thankful to have been able to go here and have him as my therapist.

Happy with my experience. Very impressed by availability of billing options- shows they care about more than just the money- they want people to actually get the care they need.
Tatum from billing is very thorough and made sure I had a strong understanding of those options, and made sure there’s be no surprises. Also provided direct phone number so if I need to speak to someone familiar with my info, I easily can.
