Went to this place several years ago and it was meh, but it has really improved. No complaints at all. Great Sichuan food and outstanding service!

I love cooking girl. One of the best places for Chinese food outside of Chinatown, IMO. This is the main location. The other one in Montrose is a bit smaller with reduced menu (but equally delicious btw).
Perfect flavor / spicyness. After trying around 10 items in total - you can’t go wrong here.
Plenty of parking outside and typically no reservation needed.

Cute interior, nice staff, and average Chinese food.
Only dish I tried that may be a bit hard to find elsewhere was Dongpo's pork hock; however, soft bacon on mustard greens and spicy wood ear salad are served at other Chinatown Chinese restaurants of the same quality and slightly lesser price.
Still a good time and filling meal though!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cooking Girl restaurant, and it was a culinary journey that left me thoroughly impressed. The food was flavorful and authentic, the ambiance was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. If you're craving delicious Chinese cuisine, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I have been looking for a go-to place, and to be our comfort food and restaurant. We are so lucky to have come across this place. We have been here three times now and will definitely be coming back again and again and again. When you enter the restaurant, its very homey. Staff are so amazing and super caring. We usually come in for a late dinner, and we will see the staff gather together in one table and will eat together before they close. That just such a wonderful workplace environment. Their food is amazing. I recommend Yellow stone pork, Szechuan beef, Bokchoy as well as Eggplant love Green bean (cute name right?). Give it a try!

I don’t know how I’ve never rated this place before. Iconic. Delightful. Delicious. And if you have the pleasure of cooking girl herself coming to your table she is an absolute gem.

Sichuan fried fish and Chinese dry fried green beans are awesome. Meat spring rolls are a great item as well and something different than the usual rolls.

Awesome spot for chinese cooking! Was shocked at the spicy-ness of sichuan cooking tho, next time i will not gor for spicy, could barely feel my tongue! Lol i will be back

I was really excited to try this place. I checked the review score but didn’t read the reviews. The food wasn’t flavorful or memorable. The server tried her best but it looked like she was the only one working — which is it’s own issue but also ruins the customer experience.

One of our favorite places to eat in town. The Hot Diving Fish, Eggplant Love Green Bean, Golden Bar, and Mapo Tofu are all hits. Dine-in portions seem a little larger than take-out, but the food tastes great either way.

Food was so delicious. It didn’t disappoint us! It was flavorful!

Very authentic cuisine. Service is superb! They explain the dishes well and we always enjoy our food. They offer great varieties to choose and drinks are really good too.

I used to like this restaurant and had been there frequently before. However the food quality and quantity has been falling continuously since the covid pandemic.
I always thought this restaurant was quite delicious, and I used to go there often. But the taste and portion sizes of dishes have been declining in the past two years.

I've been dining and doing to go orders here since they first started. Things are getting bad. My food took 40 minutes to arrive. The waitresses thought I had already had my food. Where did she think the big bowl went? Lol. The restaurant only had one more party. They can't blame the mistake of being busy. The waitress also had a very hard time understanding us. We had a big group of us as it was a birthday celebration. The sad part is that the ac was not working and there are not any signs on the building. The roof is falling apart with the mold. It stinks like mold on there now. They also didn't offer any appetizers or any discount for the 40 min wait for my food. They also seem to be bothered when you ask them for rice. Before you would automatically get it with the order. I mean, the bill was almost $200. Don't be cheap when it comes to rice. Hope things get better soon before they lose all their customers.

This restaurant in the heart of Medical Center in Houston is so good!
When you drive by it can be easy to miss, so don’t blink!
The staff is so nice and attentive, I love the fact they give you the story of the food the make there, they even tell you what part of Asia this food comes and why is a little spicy.

Its cute in the inside and the also sell alcohol.

But let’s talk about the food, first of all the dishes are family size, and the make every dish right, with enough veggies or protein.
Oh! And they bring a huge bowl of steamed rice for your food!

We ordered an appetizer that had cucumbers and a sweet sauce, little spicy but so delicious and fresh.
And we also got the noodles and vegetables and the king pap chicken. Very very delicious!

A wonderful find. This Sichuan place has many offerings at various heat levels but I ordered this super flavorful, very spicy dry fried pork. It had a lot of bird's eye chilies so I had to order a Thai tea to manage the heat. The waitresses were kind and helpful. The restaurant was neat, clean, and calming. I liked the atmosphere. I'll be back again.

Awesome place. It’s a small place but has so many choices. The beef fried rice hit the spot! They have good quality beef so I’m definitely coming back.

It was my first time eating here, and the food was OK. They need to work on the air-conditioning in this place my food would have been more enjoyable, if I wasn’t trying to fan myself
