Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que Austin reviews
15 Food was okay. Pork ribs were hard to get off of the bone. Pork tenderloin was tender. Barbecue sauce is very thin and runny not the typical barbecue sauce. Rude staff. Great bartender! Only had to trip over three bums
and two panhandlers to get here.
Terrible bbq. Worst I have had in taxes for sure. The presentation sux, the meat is too fatty and salty, I never seen a brisket dripping blood ever before. $60 food We throw away
Great BBQ, especially when you consider that you don’t have to sit in a 2 hour line to get it. The brisket was done well and wasn’t dry. The BBQ sauce was definitely different (it was more of a broth than a sauce).
I found this place as we were in the City to CELEBRATE the Fourth of July! You couldn't get a more authentic BBQ Feel! You can smell the smoke outside. THE MEAT, SIDES AND DESERTS ARE PHENOMENAL. WE ordered enough to take home!
Good was great. They were unfortunately out of brisket but got the sirloin and it was cooked perfect. Definitely recommend.
This place is fantastic! The meat selection is a little overwhelming because of the choices available. We chose the brisket and beef ribs. Maybe the best decision we made all day! The jalapeño mac and cheese is a delicious mean itself. The service was also remarkable. I encourage everyone to try Cooper’s.
Great bbq spot, fast friendly space. Meat served by the pound. We had brisket and pork which is amazing.apparently pulled pork is a northern thing so dont ask for it when in Texas. The mac and cheese was great, top off with BlackBerry cobbler and a southern sweet tea. We had plenty to take home and left stuffed.
I like brisket. It’s how many, including me, measure BBQ. I did not like Cooper’s. Tough, fatty, left most of it on my plate.
I did like the jalapeño sausage
I did like the beans
Loved the blackberry cobbler
Would not go back.
Rolled out of this place twice on my week long trip here. Food is literally off the bone, cooking it right up beside you as u walk and a full bar. Food is a bit on the pricey side but worth it.
This place was excellent. You walk in and order the cuts of meat and the quantity that you want. The brisket is beyond description. The sausage is excellent and the airloin is good. The chicken was ok. They have iced tea, soda, water and a full bar as well. Highly recommended.
Cafeteria style restaurant that sells meat and sides by weight, order exactly as much as you want! Traditional southern style smoked meats and vinegar-style bbq. Baked beans are home made and have a great smokey flavor (not overly sweet like Bush's).
When friends come to Austin I always recommend Cooper's. It's excellent but importantly it's consistent. Saltlick or La Barbecue is great but I feel they lack in pushing out a consistently delicious dish. Cooper's is a clear winner here. Plus the desserts are A+
Coopers is a trip back to the old days getting in line at a cafeteria. Except this cafeteria only sells bombass meat and bbq sides. Order as little or as much as you want. Whatever you don't eat you can take to go. The brisket was professionally cooked and tender.
The food was really good. I ordered the the crab cake appetizer and tortilla soup. It was a good portion size and very flavorful. Will definitely come back.
The brisket was amazing! The sides are meh except for the mac n cheese but their motto is all about the meat. And I know the brisket and sausage were fantastic. The nice thing is you pay for each item individually so if you don't want sides you don't pay for them.
