My stay at Coronado was nothing less than stellar. From the front desk folks to the kitchen folks, they all care very much for the residents. The PT/OT staff are caring, patient & compassionate. They are eager to push you in your exercises a little bit further everyday to assist with a smooth, quick recovery. The floor nurses & aides are the best. They are quick to respond to your needs, be it for pain medicines or to hang IV medicines. They are great at including the whole family in the treatment plans. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention several folks by name, Ime, Connie & Veronica were A+. They always made me feel good.
Thank you Coronado.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Coronado. EVERYONE has been wonderfully kind, helpful, and generous with their time. The food is restaurant quality and the chef very accommodating. The Physical Therapist Fal and the Occupational Therapist Judy are the best. I can’t thank them enough for their expertise and help. Thank you to everyone at Coronado for taking such good care of me at a time I needed it most.

I’m a resident here, and I’m very pleased with the care, my favorite CNA is Anna, she does an amazing job and shows a lot of care. Also Esteban the cna for the weekend is very nice and do a lot for me. One time I was in a lot of pain and Mary help me right away she called the doctor and took care of the situation. Nurse Connie and Alton are amazing and always give me my medication on time. Also PT does an amazing job and I’m very happy with the results. Receptionist Nallely is very helpful with any issues or concerns that you might have. I’m really grateful with the staff for all they do and all the hard work

The Coronado at Stone Oak has the most professional staff from thw MD's to the cafeteria staff. They are all number one. I will always appreciate the work they have done for me.

The family of Mrs. Evangelina would like to thank Cris Ramos, Nallely for the great care and assistance they have given her.
The whole team working on the Pecos wing has been greatly appreciated.
The staff has always been very professional and helpful through out her care especially during these difficult times during covid pandemic.

My Mother-in-law is a current resident at Coronado. She is not able to communicate due to pass strokes she has had. My father-in-law is there with her almost ever day and he can't say enough good things about the facility. We want to thank All the Nurses, CNA's, Housekeepers, Social Workers, Dr's, and Front Desk personal for making this a pleasant place to have our Mother & Wife.

The entire staff at Coronado are very helpful and I would highly recommend this place. Aurora the Finance director is very understanding and caring for the residents. This is truly a great place.

I can’t say much good about this facility except that the nurses who worked with my mother-in-law treated her very well. However, that’s the only good thing.
She was there about 2 weeks and, despite several requests, during that entire time we never received a call from her doctor, a therapist, or nurse on how she was doing with rehab. We did receive a call 2 days before they were “forced” to release her because insurance quit paying. No discussion on moving to private pay, no discussion on her ability to live alone, nothing at all. Yet when we showed up at the appointed time of release, no one seemed to know she was being released.
We ended up taking her to another private rehab facility with full assurances from the Coronado case worker that her therapy had been arranged and all medical equipment ordered to be delivered that same day. That was 2 days ago and she has yet to see her therapist or receive medical equipment.
They also didn’t send her with enough medication nor did they bother to supply prescriptions for the refills authorized by the doctor. At least one of these medications is one that can’t be stopped suddenly. It took 5 hours and repeated phone calls to get those prescriptions called in to her pharmacy.
Last, but not least, I just tried contacting the case worker for assistance on the rehab/equipment and was told he doesn’t come in until tomorrow. When I explained the situation - that a hip replacement patient had not received her therapist or walker - I was told to call back tomorrow. No offer to take a message or contact the director. Just that the case worker would be in when he came in and to call back.
Overall, I can’t say I would recommend this facility to anyone. We have never dealt with anything like this before so maybe this is all normal. But if that is the case, I’m truly terrified for those needing rehab services.

I can’t say enough about the staff! Everyone here has helped my father feel more at home—especially staff member April. She has been a critical member of the Coronado team for me and my family as we’ve been apart from my father through most of this year due to COVID. With April’s help, we’ve been able to visit my father and have weekly Zoom calls even while the staff has been incredibly busy caring for all of its patients during the pandemic. It’s this type of personalized attention that has really helped everyone keep their spirits up and we are incredibly grateful to April and all the staff at Coronado!

My uncle has been in this facility for about two week since his arrival I have no access to him, he has been treated like a prisoner. I have called multiple times a day and they either do not answer or put me on hold for over an hour. I have not talked to his doctor since arrival and have been ignored the whole time. I will be hiring an attorney and getting him out of there ASAP

Do not be fooled. The director may give you a warm welcome and claim to care about your loved one, but they don’t. They’re short staffed and have nurses who get attitude when the resident tells them they need to be changed, they will also lie to the resident about the menu and tell them eat what you get or don’t, despite dietary restrictions. They will not return your phone calls when you express concerns about your loved one’s care, and once they release them, they don’t follow through.

They released my mom from rehab without explaining why she was suddenly on insulin. They took 3 days to call in her prescription for life sustaining meds, and even though the claim was she’d have 2 weeks in order to give her time to follow up with her primary, they only gave one, not to mention, it was only for 4 of the 10 meds she was on. The caseworker Arnulfo is also a liar and dodges calls. He claimed he was calling in for her to have a bedside commode upon release but never followed up. When I called the afternoon she was released, he was unavailable. He did call back the next day and claimed that he accidentally ordered the wrong size but he was “working to correct it”. It’s been a little over a full week and I have yet to hear back.

Avoid this facility at all costs because not only are they incapable of providing good care, they also don’t care about taking the steps to fix their shortcomings. Now I have to figure out how to get my mom the steroids she desperately needs to breathe, because her worthless primary care physician Dr. Robert Nobels, won’t do it.

I'm absolutely impressed by this facility! I live in Austin and am the primary caregiver for my mother, so when she fell ill and had to be transferred to a rehab from her hospital in San Antonio, my biggest fear was that I was placing her in the care of a facility that's one hour away and couldn't pop in as much as I would usually. Coronado has absolutely blown me away with not only the amount of care they have provided for my mother, the peace of mind that they have given me, plus the safety measures to which they go through to ensure that during a time like now (Covid), their patients, residents and staff are safe! I have received unbelievable support from the Office/Finance Manager and the Social Worker (I'm leaving their names out to ensure that this review is seen). When I visit my mother, she's always clean, has little snacks and they even did her hair for her, in a really cute hairstyle. I ask that if you're reading this, you don't focus on negative reviews, take the time like I did to do your research, visit if possible and remember that people are more likely to complain than compliment! I felt that I needed to give credit where credit is due, so hopefully this will help someone in the future when searching for a rehab for themselves or a family member.

My mother whom was under your care for 4 months was neglected. The only time nurses checked in was to provide her food. When requesting assistance they acknowledged but never corresponded. Once she went days without a bath, luckily the therapy nurses assisted. It was not brought to their attention in fear of retaliation. I pray that you fix this issue and that no other patients are treatedoin such manner.

My daughter is in a room right now without ac in this place for over 24 hrs. She says the food is gastly, late and always cold. She has been in 8 other facilities since December and this is by far the worst. They have stopped her PT and OT and she can't walk. She is stuck in a bed. Don't go here. Today is August 5,2020. Get it fixed or I will call Troubleshooters.

My mother was admitted June 20th into rehabilitation and skilled nursing to care for her diabetes. I was out of commission due to surgery and illness. They got tired of her and sent her away to live some where else. The new facility didn't send her clothes. She was in a nightgown and house shoes. Her legs are covered in quarter size oozing sores. Infection present. May lose right leg. Sorry care.very, very poor.

I would not recommend you place a loved one in any of their facilities based on my current experience at Coronado Stone Oak in San Antonio TX. I truly hope their care and concern improves and I'd gladly update my review. It is unfortunate that you trust people to give your family the care they need and instead you continually have empty promises made. I will give more details at a later date.

They served their purpose; my 87 yr old dad got rehab/therapy.
But he lost 10 pounds in the 2 weeks he was there. He really couldn't afford that loss. The food smells horrible. My dad said it was horrible and they served the same meal for lunch and dinner each day.
The people were nice.
The facility is nice.
