Covenant Health: Emergency Room, Lubbock TX

Do not go here. Worst experience I have had with medical care in Lubbock. Waited over 6 hours for them to see me. Doctors were nice, but you can tell that no one knows how to run anything in this place.

Who was having chest pain and was very weak even to talk, those so called nurses were the worst evil people I've ever meet, they were the rudest disturbing people ever my blood pressure went high with these people in the emergency room I wish i knew where to report them, sick people don't deserve to be treated ugly and disrespected we came to the umc emergency room I was so happy that I did we were in the covenant emergency around 3: 30pm Sunday November 12 2023 in case ya'll wanna meet the rudeness people evil at that
My sister was very sick they left her suffering in pain so i had to check her out from covenant emergency room to go to (UMC) umc is very friendly and helpful, and understood my concern, it took
only 5 minute my sister got the care she needed without the wait they were fast and noticed how sick she was doctors and nurse understood her sickness be careful where you take your love ones there's evil nurses out there

I’ve been here multiple times and the doctors are great, however it’s always the front er staff who are ALWAYS rude, judge mental, and just all around make you so uncomfortable you second guess going to the emergency room because they make you feel so terrible. I was in this morning and was told “I don’t know what they’ll do but they’ll figure it out back there”. All three of the women up front at 9am on 10/30/23 were RUDE & TERRIBLE. I ended up not waiting and just going straight home. I’d rather suffer in pain at home instead of being treated like that at a place that’s supposed to HELP you!

This has to be one of the worst ER's in the nation. Staff is rude, uncaring, and the ER is always filthy. Such a sick joke.

My wife spent 5 hrs waiting in ER lobby. Once she got back into ER room they didn't even offer to do blood work.

Had a good experience here. They treated me promptly and gave me a good diagnosis. Glad I went here.

Since 3pm. We have been waiting for results it is now 5am and haven't heard nothing on blood work nor x rays recommended umc faster and more convenient for your love ones.

Worst decision of my life coming here!
Came in before 5a with internal bleeding and was forced to wait 4 hours. It wasn't until blood was coming out on the floor then I was fianly seen.

I took my baby in on Friday August 4th 2023 8: 30 pm because I thought she had a possible uti. The doctor that came in was nice but he decided that since she had no fever and was smiling and happy she was ok to bring her back if she had a fever. So Sunday August 6th 2023 we return same Dr. They tried to give baby a catheter but she has tiny parts. So they put a bag on her for her to pee. She pees they send it back to be tested for uti we wait. Meanwhile my baby has had feedings while waiting. My baby gets hungry again I buzz the nurse to tell them can they please hurry baby is hungry. Keep in mind I have the app so I see baby results of her pee test as well as the Dr prescription. They tell me when are going to give her a 1st dose of the antibiotic. I said okay, second time I call the nurse to tell her my baby is hungry baby is screaming her had off I open the door peak out of the room so staff could see and hear her screaming. No one come to see. I’m upset so as I was about to pack my baby up to leave because baby is hungry it’s been 3 hours of waiting the nurse comes I tell her I gotta leave baby is hungry and I can get prescription filled on Monday August 6th 2023 she says ARE YOU REFUSING TREATMENT no I told her my baby is hungry I’m upset baby was literally screaming and crying nurse asked me rudely what kind of formula does she take I tell her she brings back two 2oz bottles and a nipple throws it on the bed and tells me rudely that’s it’s pre made (which I already knew because I buy baby formula) I feed baby while feeding nurse comes in to give me the antibiotic tells me it’s going to take 3 days to work. Which nobody’ told me. I pack baby up and get discharged THAT same nurse ask me how many bottles did I bring her. I told her I brought my baby more than enough to eat and that the wait was way to long Y’all need to do better at the ER I don’t appreciate at all being threatened about refusing treatment because WHAT THE NURSE OF 10 YEARS WANTED TO DO WAS CALL CPS AND I KNEW THATS EXACTLY WHAT SHE WANTED because I had call the nurse station twice to tell them baby hungry. And them as “professionals” should have asked me when they heard baby cry while they was all at the nurse station. This nurse of TEN YEARS NEEDS TO HAVE A BETTER IDEA OF WHOM NEGLECTS THEIR CHILDREN AND THOSE WHO DONT! I don’t appreciate being threatened about refusing treatment I am extremely upset and this type of behavior from these nurses at the ER needs to be put to a stop. And I plan on reaching out to a higher up because this nurse of ten years should have her license taken away. I am switching over to UMC AFTER THIS ORDEAL. I am surprised this hospital has not gotten sued and I think they should be! UPDATE: Baby was mis- diagnosed so baby was given wrong medication took baby to her pediatrician!

Got here at 7: 50am because i got bit by a dog. I didn't get seen till 1230 pm and the lady behind the desk was rude and unprofessional. I never got a rabies shot I had to go somewhere else

I would give this sad excuse for human public health care a zero stars if I could. Took my friend who's tough as nails who suddenly developed extreme pain, throwing. He couldn't stand to sit so he lay on the floor because it felt better for his pain. Instead of offering him some assistance, they called security on him.

Horrible experience. Waited about 8 hours they left me to literally the last person in the waiting room and the overheard ER staff loudly mocking me. They made assumptions about my condition and were incorrect. Literally worst experience of my life. Left this place traumatized. In therapy for it. Shame on you all.

You're better off dead on the curb out front. That's basically what will.happen by going here. This isn't a joke either, the staff is busy laughing and telling you "we cannot give you any information. " If deflection was an Olympic Sport, they'd win the Gold.
Stay away from here and go anywhere else.
Go see a veterinarian for better health care and compassion.

Horrible. I never go to the ER. I am sitting for 4 solid hours with fluid in my abdominal area, and every person in the ER goes before me. I was told I wasn't severe enough. Shame on Covenant. Horrible!

The ER doctor was rude and condescending, after waiting for several hours. He wouldn't even check what was wrong with me. Told me he wasn't worried about my pain, and wouldn't even look at my ankles I missed work because I woke up and couldn't walk. Instead of x-raying my ankles they x-rayed my chest and said there only job is to make sure I'm not dying. So basically they don't care about their patients. They laugh and make fun of the people in the waiting room, they are rude and unprofessional. I will never come to this er, hospital, or any of their clinics again!

Probably the worst emergency room in Texas or possibly the nation. Shut it down if you can’t do any better

The worst hospital ever I came from out of town to bring my mom because her dialysis access wasn’t working this man comes in, in pain something about dialysis and he’s hurting bad and no nurse or doctor come to check on him and them back there just laughing at him this is so efd up and wrong what kind of hospital is this

I never leave reviews but this emergency room was absolutely awful. From the nurses laughing at reasons why patients came in and mocking their pain to being extremely rude when asking for any sort of update after hours of waiting. I was never checked on by my nurse or anyone even though they were all sitting directly in front of my room. The only person that came in was from billing to collect payment. Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life when I was in the most pain I’ve ever been in. I would recommend anywhere but this emergency room.

Brought Girlfriend to ER for possible appendicitis after a doctor examined her and instructed her to go. Waiting over 3 hours. While waiting an employee of theirs came in with broken finger, checked in, x-rayed, and released in about 30 minutes. Apparently if you want faster response you need to be an employee so you can skip the line.
