Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, San Antonio TX

I recently bought the Thanksgiving meal for this past week so I am writing based on that experience. First, when placing my order I was required to purchase a side I didn't want (the cinnamon roll pie). I tried calling the store, customer care (waited 30 minutes on hold and it hung up) and emailing through the site to get help but no answer. So I just bought the side so I could get my order placed. When I came to pick it up the email I received said pick up was curbside, got there, checked in, waited 20 minutes, finally called the store and the woman who answered was rude and told me to go outback and hung up. No one said anything before that and there were no signs, nothing to indicate otherwise. Go outback this was unorganized in terms of which way you were supposed to drive up, so cars were blocking each other. Get there and wait some more. My extra side wasn't written on the order guide, and I had to wait for them to look up my order. I will say this gentleman was nice and offered a refund of that extra side but said it would take a little while to do and frankly by then after waiting over 30 minutes I was done and said no because I was over it.

Other issues I had with this meal for the money I paid: beware the containers that it comes in are not re-heatable, I asked for plates and none were given, for the price we should at least get plates and plasticware, also no serving utensils, again as much as we pay throwing in a few disposable spoons wouldn't hurt. The pumpkin pie I got was not fresh baked, it was ordered from somewhere else. The stuffing would not firm up as it seemed to have too much moisture, the potatoes seemed out of the box and the turkey was unseasoned. The highlight of the entire meal was the gravy. Overall disappointed. This isn't a cheap meal and I worked the overnight shift the night before, I was hoping to have a meal that was literally "heat n' serve". Not a great experience, lesson learned.

Good place for a very reasonable priced meal with the family. I love the fresh taste of the breakfast and the service is quick! I miss the free biscuits, while you waited for the order but I'll be coming back again.

Dinner was great but the sides were a bit small. We have always enjoyed there food but even breakfast has changed. For instance, the bacon used to be nice and thick. And now it's a bit thinner and smaller. Maybe its like everything else that has changed.

Also tonight we went for dinner and I did some shopping. But I had to come back cause the cashier didn't bag all my stuff. Not very happy.

Overall we will continue to enjoy the food there thanks

We ordered breakfast and although service wasn't rude or anything we did get food poisoning. The bacon tasted weird so I told my family not to eat it but by that time me and my daughter had already tasted it. It tasted like a chemical.

I love the nice variety of the menu items at Cracker Barrel.
This particular location when we ate their, the waitress kept us waiting several times thru our meal just waiting for silverware, our drinks (didn't serve until half way thru our meal) and when we were done we had to wait a while for our bill and again for our to-go/leftover bag/box - she only had 2 tables!
Otherwise the food was delicious as usual.

The wait has been longer, but I understand because of the short staff that alot of restaurants have since the pandemic.
Foods always good Staff always friendly.

Came for late breakfast and as usual there's a wait and is totally understandable but when I'm told there's a 40 minute wait and when the 40 minutes are up and you go ask how much longer to be seated and they tell you it's about 45 more minutes and it takes nearly 2 hrs to be seated on a table for 7 that really ticked me off, i stayed and acted normal because we were spending time with my daughter before she got deployed.
This will be the last time for me here.

My hashbrown casserole was cold and hard on edges but I swallowed my pride even after paying with my hard earned money.

The food was amazing. Very delicious. The prices were good. The waitress was friendly but didn't come around often enough to check on us.

Love Love Love! Oh my! The Sweetie potato was so good they brought it out within 7 minutes and my wife and I destroyed it! The fried turkey with gravy and loaded tots was perfect! My wife got the breakfast and blueberry? Pancakes! The way they should taste! Bacon, sausage, eggs that were so perfectly made as easy over. This place is amazing and if people complain about lines on the weekends go on the weekday like we did on a Thursday. Such an amazing server we left a large tip. 10/28/21

Waited 25min for a table placed order and waited an hour for our food and they lost our ticket so we left without eating

I ordered the chicken fried steak. With mashed potatoes, green beans. And biscuits and it was delicious. And the service was nice. Very welcoming.

I ordered a curbside order online, when I arrived at the restaurant I checked in and after 15 minutes of waiting no one came out with my food, I started calling but no one would answer & it would sound like someone would pick up & hang up. After multiple times calling a young man answered & after I told him I was waiting & the name on the order, I was hung up on again. I waited a bit longer to see if maybe someone was brining the food out but nothing. The reason I didn’t get off to pick up the order inside was because I was in my pj’s & my dog was with me. I live 25 minutes away so I can’t couldn’t go back home & change. After a total of about 30 minutes of waiting I got off to go in the store, embarrassed in my pajamas, leaving my dog in the car alone. There were 3 hostess standing chit chatting talking about their weekend, I stood in front of them at the hostess stand but they decided to finish their conversation before acknowledging me. They just pointed me to the check out line. When it was my turn in line I told the gentleman (nicely) what happened & all he said was “oh I told someone to take it out, but I guess they forgot. ” & gave me the food. At that point the food was cold & when I nicely asked for fresh food he said no. I had to rush back to my car to my dog so I couldn’t even ask for a manager, since I believe my food should had been remade since it was their error on not taking it out when it was a curbside order. This was handled very poorly.

When did cracker barrel become d! Cks last resort? Horribly slow service, dirty dishes a disrespectful manager that mispronounced the name our table was under. Then when corrected is dismissive. This place is going to the dogs!

Never a wait to be seated when we dine-in. My meal came out in a timely manner and my waiter attendant enough. I enjoy the sense if nostalgia on the way in and out of the restaurant in the small store.

The catfish dish was delicious. The mash potatoes were warm and soft. The green beans were just right. Good dinner. Thanks.
