Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Mesquite TX

The food was meh, there was no social distancing. Everyone was crammed into half of the restaurant while the other half was closed. The tables on either side of us kept bumping in to the backs of our chairs. Our waitress kept visiting with other tables, yet never came to check on us.

The staff was great! The gentleman at the cash register was very friendly and the hostesses Alexis and India were very friendly and helpful. The quality of the pot roast I ordered was terrible, however.

Alix is hand down the best waitress if you happen to be at this Cracker Barrel, make sure you ask for her awesome service with a smile

Not enough servers and way too crowded. Very slow service and a 2 hour wait. No plans to return.

Love coming here but I was skipped over several times for the same size party as I had waited for 55min and still was getting skipped left

There was wait but we knew there would be. It was lunch time on a Sunday. Sarah S was amazing! She was very attentive and didn't forget a thing or to check on us. Food was great, hot, and delicious loved it! Great location.

The food is very good. But the service? It’s much to be desired. People waiting in line for a table, when there’s a lot of empty tables. But apparently no busboys. Definitely needs new management. And more employees & rid of the ones supposedly on the floor. At 4: 45pm on a Saturday, it shouldn’t be this sluggish.

Decent food, but terrible service and attention to orders. Don't get their take out, whatever you do. I ordered two entrees, and for a side with one I requested a loaded baked potato. I received a whole baked potato with nothing on it and nothing to put on it. Loaded hash brown casserole was the same, as plain as could be. I specifically requested butter for the cornbread and rolls, which was regretfully left out. I waited 15 minutes longer than the estimate, which was apparently due to being forgotten, since after I got the food home we noticed it was almost all very cold. Very disappointing dinner overall.

This place is packed but it's still good to come here friendly service (Adrian was on the ball) the food is always great the atmosphere is nostalgic and busy a great tourist spot or home town hang out just a cool place in general

All the food was overcooked and our wai waiter was overwhelmed so the service wasn't great. The manager did nothing for us after we told her all the food was overcooked.

The service in the location is really good, I'll give them that. But the food had gone downhill for some time now. Won't be going back anytime soon. Their fried chicken looked like it came right out of a frozen bag; tasted worse. I've had better fried chicken from the frozen section of a grocery store.

Delicious food but tables were so packed together you couldn't get through them except for the main walkway

I ordered the ham with 2 sides lunch. I was served an almost see through 3/4 slice of ham. My daughter ordered a Smores frappuccino. My Step-dad was given mashed potatoes when he ordered fried okra, which was corrected. It tasted like unsweetened black coffee. As for the rest my sides, my daughter's, and my parent's meals were good. The restraunt was a little too crowded for my likes. The staff were all very kind. The restraunt and store were very clean. This isn't a place you would want to go to during peak times due to the compact feel and being busy even during off peak times. Prices are reasonable, even in the store.

Food taste great but portions are too small for the price also notice waitress takes time to check back at the table but over all is a good place

First time I came hear meat loaf was really good and our waitress was nice. So I went again after work and got a take out plate and that time not so much. I arrival 20 minutes after I made my to go order and still had to wait 15 more minutes. The meat loaf was ok but my hash brown were SUPER greasy and the beans were dry and the greens was not seasoned. Not a good experience especially after work when you haven't eaten all day and your hungry. I understand sometimes you have off days so I'll try them again before I write them off.

Orders took forever to get to the table, waitress was inattentive & we ended up asking another waiter for refills on our water! Wasn't a fan, probably not going to go back.

Go by this store every few months. Last visit walked into the restaurant and immediately smelled a “dirty rag” smell. Disappointed. Also had to find someone to seat us. Ordered and was served with great service. Needed silverware though. Everything was fine till we tried the cheese hash-browns. NOW we knew where the smell was coming from. Terrible.

Food is always great, service is great if you ask for Lisa. Daily specials are offered, so some days are busier than others. Thursday is Turkey and dressing and can get quite crowded sometimes.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Called in an order, lady said 10 mins. We arrive in about 11 mins and still had to wait 30 mins for the food. The manager on duty was in the kitchen too busy laughing and playing with other employees. Brought us our food and didn’t even apologize for the wait. I will not be returning.

The staff was unprepared and untrained. They couldn't answer simple questions and they seemed very confused and did not know how to take food orders. It was not a pleasant experience.
