Crown & Anchor Pub, Austin TX

Been a regular for 25 years now and I can tell you, the guy they got on the grill now is an ace. Best hamburger in town and the fries are awesome. Great food, great beer and an Austin institution.

Delicious food, great beer choices, right by the UT campus. Good outdoor and indoor seating. Great place to wind down after a rough day.

Average. Yeah lots of beer on tap - but you can find that many places. Menu is typical but more “bar” would be better in the title than “pub”. Can you really have a pub without fish and chips or any kind of pies? !? Don’t expect a “pub” in that sense.

Generally a good place for meeting friends / playing darts etc. Biggest issue is poor serving layout causing frequent lines of customers waiting to be served

Great beer selection and I was really surprised to find that the burgers were absolutely delicious! Came here with a friend who attended law school at UT and he spoke very highly of it and I'm glad to have been able to try it first hand.

I’ve been coming to this Austin institution for decades and believe the burger to be one of the seminal burgers of America. The experience of drinking a beer on the deck fosters communication and fellowship. I’ve enjoyed interactions with all the crusty bartenders over the years and received many a delicious insult. But Micki, who I’d never met until today, brought a level of brightness and hospitality to this place that caused me to renew my vows of fidelity. Thank you, Micki.

Got the jalapeno cheeseburger and fries. Pretty solid for the price but waiting on the pool tables was a drag. Never got to play.

Great beer bar. Beer only, great felt dartboards. Cheap and delicious burgers. Overall fantastic place. One downside is the men's bathroom is awful, I've heard the women's is ok.

Chill little spot with a friendly staff and great food. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a cold beer and a good burger.

Excellent local college bar, great craft beer selection and good food. Bartending staff was awesome and the atmosphere was really cool. Highly recommended.

An Austin institution with good casual/bar style burgers. Good beer selection with nightly beer specials. Love the different demographics - a mix of college students, professors, neighbors, and old Austin natives or UT alum feeling nostalgic.

Aaaaahhhhh what better way to celebrate that you didn't fail the class than going to c&a? Been going here for a couple of times, started in college but been going more lately. Throwing darts w friends (even if you have no idea what you are doing), chatting while sitting in one of their many spacious long tables (sits 8-10 people). Great place to chill

Beer is good and fairly priced

Crown is my go-to neighborhood pub. Super friendly staff, solid beer selection, daily specials, and the food never disappoints. If you are looking for a low-key unassuming place to kick back a few with friends, look no further!
