My opinion of the company isn't that good, three weeks ago today put theme 175.00 deposit up the lady said in 3 no more than five days your service should be on.she even informed me that it usually doesn't take that long

So my biggest issues is the fact I have to pay an extra 27$ a month for a landline when I only need internet, when your internet is double almost triple the normal internet price, and at half the speeds. It’s to expensive and not consumer friendly. Especially since I already have a cell phone I have absolutely no use for a landline. This is greed and the product of a company who has a monopoly in an area. Charging 100$ for 100mps is terrible then 300$ For 1g is out right highway robbery.

Hmmmm well it was my birthday yesterday and all I wanted to do was play my video games but guess what cumby tel had plans otherwise, because the WiFi now cuts out every 5 minutes so I can’t do anything on the WiFi

Used to be unreliable but since they upgraded to fiber and increased their download and upload speeds it's much better. It's the only halfway reliable service in Mallard Point neighborhood of Greenville so I stay with it even though it's expensive. I wish AT&T brought internet service here. It's much more reliable at about 2/3 the price.

Cumby Telephone is a ripoff. You cannot get internet service without ordering landline service for an additional $27. Who even uses landlines anymore. So each month our bill was an additional $27 for a service we did not need or want. If you can find someone else for your internet service, I would suggest you do that, but I think they may have a monopoly in that area. Extorting money from people.can't have internet without landline, unthinkable!

The internet service is absolutely horrendous. Our actual internet speed can only reach about 50% of the speed we pay for. Constant internet interruptions that seem to happen every week. Can only stream one video at a time and you can forget about playing online video games. Too bad they are the only provider available in the area.

CumbyTel customer service is responsive, and friendly. Always help when I had any issue except one. Fiber was installed. We moved into the realm of new streaming and Internet possibilities. BUT, it is absolutely relic and antiquated to continue to require a telephone line as part of the service. WHY? I was told the General Manager didn’t want to forget where they started-as a telephone company. This thinking is what holds a company from growing and being successful in the future. Soon new providers will be here and will replace backward thinking practices of Cumby Telephone with future needs and reasonable service requirements. If you agree, please let the Board of Directors know you are unhappy that you are required to have a useless, antiquated phone line.

Does anyone actually work in the office to take calls or answer emails?
I've been trying to get ahold of someone with no avail. I'm definitely switching asap.

Haven't been able to get a hold of them for the past week, and they hold a practical monopoly and overcharge for internet in town. In commerce you can get 1gb/s worth of internet for $50 a month. Here, they charge $300. Even 100Mbp/s is overpriced at $99!
Edit 1: Bumped up to two stars, as a day after i wrote this review we tried calling them again, and was able to get our internet speed bumped up with no questions asked. Would've been 3 stars, but i still have frequent dropouts and issues with the DNS server they use. Also, Internet here is still outrageously overpriced. If you can get internet from somewhere else, I'd recommend it.
