Custom Sounds & Tint - San Pedro Ave reviews
17Excellent customer service from Dustin Reynolds. Assisted us from the time we stepped in to the time we left. Dustin showed me how to use my head unit that was installed. Thanks for your help!
Brett and Dustin were very helpful and patient with our new stero purchases. Would recommend custom sound and tint to anyone that is looking for a custom sound shop.
Kevin McKnight is a very respectful and knowledgeable on the product he was very helpful. A very joyful attitude. Mr. Garza
Employee is caring to your needs.fast paced is never a bad thing. 10/10 service seriously. They will help you get what you need. GUS was the one who helped me.
Just wasted 3 whole hours of my time for absolutely no reason. Extremely unprofessional, these guys are clueless. Make sure you keep your warranty paperwork with ANY purchase made here.
If you want cables dangling next to your break pedal just waiting g for you to tangle and crash, come to this place and get something installed.
Avoid this place and take your business elsewhere. Went for a tent job and was told a 4 hour wait. I didn't mind because it was busy at the time, so it was no biggie. 6 hours passed, and finally, Gus depressed self finally says my tent was done after avoiding me the whole time. After I paid and got in my car, I noticed in dash camera covered and additional cameras in my car removed. Apparently, monitoring random people in your own personal vehicle makes the installers uncomfortable. Leads me to believe they do shady stuff there or steal items out of vehicles. Here is the Tint guy covering one of my camera's in my car in the video.
I wanted to make one of my vehicles sound better then stock. So I decided to do research on quality shop in San Antonio. I am new to San Antonio so I was told custom sounds & tint. From a couple of people I am into quality over quality. But don't know much about good quality speakers. Gus was really helpful every time I came in to ask questions.and never judge me for not knowing to much about sound equipment i decided to go all focal mids and highs with a focal 4 channel amp. Took my vehicle to New heights on sounds quality. Not over the top but just what I wanted. I will be back for future work
The customer service at this location is atrocious with their empty promises of calls from their installer and management. The hold time for any employee at the shop to answer on average is 15 minutes. They insist that there were cracks in the windshield on a brand new car which makes zero sense. This was not an issue until the technician took it. Even if there were dents in the windshield, the crack does not start where they insinuated. I believe they are refusing to fix this issue because they know how expensive it will be.
Got a remote start installed on my wife's van. Fair price and the job was done faster than they said it would be. Lifetime warranty included. Very happy with work.
Gus pointed me in the direction of installing a DSP to improve sound quality in my system. So thankful!
It sounds AMAZING now. Perfect blend of sound quality and bass. Highly recommend
Just spent 30 minutes in the store on San Pedro without either of the sales people making time to assist. Wasn’t even really addressed and told they would be a few minutes. Went in to purchase an amp, sub, and possibly sound deadening.
I just want to warn you that if you get a quote from Custom Sounds you need to have it in writing.
Yesterday I went In to check and see if they could remove my Cue screen so that I could send it off to be repaired. I was helped by Kevin McKnight. He gave me a quote of 100.00 and said it was $50.00 to take out and $50.00 to replace. Today when I went back to have it removed. Kevin gave me a bill for 131.52. I said this is all I will have to pay. He said no that is for taking it out only.
Of course he denied saying that.
Well he and I both know he is not telling the truth. I feel like he was taking advantage of me being a woman and not knowing the difference. Kelvin this is on you.
I recently had another exceptional experience at custom sounds. Gus you are the man! I recently purchased a 2022 f250 and before I picked it up I spent over 30k at another shop customizing. When I received the truck there were numerous issues, and long story short the owner of the other shop told me to f… off. Anyhow I went to custom sounds the next week to have my system installed and told him my issues. He agreed to fix all of them and install a full system in a day since I live out of town. Well I dropped the truck off Thursday night with assurance it would be ready Friday before close. I went by at 6: 30pm and the truck was nowhere near ready, I was sure I was gonna be told sorry it’ll be tomorrow, nope, Gus had the techs stay until 9: 30 on a Friday! I will be a customer of custom sounds or at least as long as Gus is there! Thanks again Gus you are the man! I’m coming with a gift for you and the guys.
Highly recommended! Had the original radio changed for the Pioneer infotainment installed on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Rear view Camera, Apple Carplay the works. Nothing but professionals and high quality service.
The only reason I'm giving four stars is because the system sounds great. But it was all my parts I brought. I paid for install. Was very expensive for two door speakers and two rear speakers that easily unscrewed from the wall. I had a old pioneer single din they put in. They left a few things undone. They didn't really clean up after themselves very good. The dash wasn't put back together right and the radio didn't look good at first. I had them adjust it. But for their name to be CUSTOM you associate that with an eye for detail. They need to pay attention. I also had a rockville ground pounder put in I brought too. And that sounded fantastic. This work was done in my 2018 kenworth t880. They have a big bay for these trucks so that is accommodating for us. Now to expense. $750 total for this fairly simple install. What I don't agree with is the$ 75 shop parts and$ 32 shop charge. All my wires and parts were included. What's a shop charge for? It's theft from the public plain and simple. These money grab charges were never added before not too far in the distant past. They charge 150 an hour. Isn't that enough?
Kevin is the best! He’s very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed. Would definitely recommend asking for him when you stop by.
