Don't rent a MTB from here.

I reserved one online before a 2-week trip to ATX. I thought I'd take the time to ride while in town, and get to explore some of the trail networks. I was looking forward to it.

Upon picking up the bike it was *very* worn. I mentioned it and the guy's response was (paraphrased.essentially.) "yep. " The next day I drive an hour out of town to ride Reveille. When I get there the bike is DOA with a bad valve core.an experienced mechanic, I worked to fix it but no dice and the nearest shop was too far away. Back to ATX.

Not only did I waste the entire day driving around TX but I also lugged my riding gear to Austin (requiring a checked bag fee), made sure to have a rental car to fit the bike, scheduled ride time, researched places to ride, and was counting on staying active for a 3-day event in VT happening close to when I get back home.

Sure I could have tried to get another bike from them and re-work my schedule but I had no confidence in the bike to begin with, and at $90/day, I think not. (If rented out 25% of the year that's $8200 coming in. It's plenty fair to make it a better product.)

. Off to the gym to ride the stationary.:/

First time around here I had a bad experience with the owner. I had left them a bad review. Havent dealt with the owner since Covid when I left the review but the other guys that work here are really nice and helpful. Pricing is better, good selection of parts for your bike, and the level of expertise is superb. I’ve had my bike serviced here since the first incident, and they were nice enough to stop what they were doing to swap out some new handlebars for me last minute. I cant say much about the owner but these other guys are fantastic and I recommend.

I appreciated how informative and honest the salesman was - he helped me try out one of the bikes, and did not try to make me buy something on the spot.

The guys here are amazing. They help me fixed my electric scooter's tire even though it is not the service they would do. They care about the safety seriously. They are so friendly too. Highly recommend you to come fix your bike here

Needed rear derailleur adjustments on two kids bikes. Dropped off Friday afternoon and got a call back 90 minutes later. All was fixed including a new hanger they had in stock. Everyone I talked to was super helpful and honest. Definitely recommend for service.

A few months back I was in the market for an Ibis ripmo. A friend of mine who runs a bicycle shop, directed me to cycle progression. I called them up even before I decided to drive down there to see if they had my size available. The person who answered the phone told me yes they have several mediums available, and then he started listening off the specs. Little by little my heart started dropping, because all the parts on this bicycle were top notch premium and sounded like it would be way out of my budget. But then he told me they're running a killer deal. Needless to say, I was able to get my dream bike for 25% off of retail.

Yeah these guys rule. Craig and Alex were really helpful and answered a ton of questions, chill vibe and very friendly to my beginner understanding of bike repair. Five stars!

If you’re not buying your bike from a local bike shop, you’re missing out. I’ve purchased bikes online to save a few bucks, who hasn’t, but nothing compares to the level of support you get from supporting your LBS.

Not all shops are created equal though. I’ll never step foot in another (rhymes with Shrek) store again with their auto dealership service approach where they nickel and dime you and take you for as much as they can saying it was “scheduled” work. It’s corporate, not local, which should tell you all you need to know.

Buying my mountain bike from Cycle Progression has been the best upgrade to my hobby since I started. They go above and beyond to take care of their clients with a thoughtful approach to service and the best pricing in town! I’ve since befriended the staff, because they’re all so genuinely friendly, and I look forward to the camaraderie every time I pop in. Donnie and the boys always stop what they're' doing to talk bikes and recommend trails, plus Jorge a beast!

Think twice before you buy your next bike online, you may be missing out on one of the best parts of the hobby!

For spring break '23, my 14yo son and I planned mountain biking in Hill Country. On our way out of Houston, we noticed his fork was messed up. We headed for Cycle Progression for help.
For this older bike, they did not happen to have parts, or a fork. They were awesome and called other bike shops hoping to find parts or replacement fork. No luck. -But Cycle Progression made this kid's Spring Break happen by offering a rental, with a bit of a price break so Dad was happy! They really saved the day. They were nice and helpful -Buy local at your local LBS! Give Cycle Progression a try!
