Cycle Refinery reviews
20Bought a Honda Rebel from Jesse today and it was the most pleasant vehicle purchase I've ever been through! He's very open and honest about every step of the process and you know the price you'll pay up front without any surprises. It's great buying from someone who you feel comfortable going back to for maintenance in the future!
The friendliest, most knowledgeable and trustworthy shop in Austin, Tx.
From the service area to the shop, I've always been pleased with part's purchased and mechanical services.
Quotes 800, takes bike down to the bone, changes quote to 1600 (actually 1700).
Honest mechanics don't do the above. Was the work done properly? Yes. For the price? No.
I've worked with mechanics for a long time. The above tactic is 1 star worthy. The work itself was solid.
Don't try to buy a bike here either. Owner thinks he's gods gift to green earth. If he's not there, no one can buy a bike.
After updating my review the owner calls me and curses me out and says he'd like to find me and or to "come find him".
I tried to deescalate multiple times but instead he threatened and screamed at me. Witnesses to the call will also gladly tell you.don't trust this place.
This is my new moto shop! I was referred here by a friend. Jesse (the owner) was amazing! He tuned up my custom built 2022 Grom and spent time educating me about some things on my bike. Krystal (not sure how she spells her name) was also so pleasant. Ended up finally finding my dream jacket as well. I 10/10 HIGHLY recommend this shop. They are straight forward, honest, and kind. It's always a plus to be able to support local businesses!
Really lucked out finding this place they had the exact bike that I wanted for a good price. No haggling or extra fees stacked on and I wasn’t pressured into buying anything. They take great pride in the maintenance and care of the bikes they sell and repair for customers. They have an awesome selection of bikes and their customer service is top notch! I will definitely be coming back thanks a lot guys!
I dropped off two new tires before lunch. All they needed was air, they were already mounted. Came back at 4pm and they were still sitting in the same place. Not that they care but they lost all future Business from me.
I sold a bike, bought a bike, and utilized the shop. Not only did they have EVERYTHING I needed, but the entire staff was awesome. Jesse was amazing, and he is changing the way we buy bikes.
I bought a Honda Fury, which is AMAZING. I didn’t have to haggle on pricing because the pricing was already amazing.
Thanks for taking my family in and treating us like your family. I have a lifetime home that I will be taking my bike to, and I’m proud to have bought my bike from here.
I've recently bought my Honda from these guys and I'm really glad I took the chance to drive from San Anto to get a bike that NONE had near me! Friendly staff, no BS and when I'm looking for my next bike I'll be sure to drop by again. Thanks so much guys
It was an absolute pleasure to deal with them. Seriously. You should go there. No dealer BS.
All you could want in a motorcycle shop.
Awesome gear as well. They know what's up!
I took my motorcycle to Cycle Refinery after terrible experience with another motorcycle shop I explained my situation and was nervous to
be honest after the experience I had previously after few days Jesse called me up talk things and I felt very comfortable and confident after he talked threw the steps, price and felt like we were on the same page. Got my motorcycle repaired and I was amazed on how great a job they did and communicated with me flawlessly. Definitely recommend taking your motorcycle to Cycle Refinery.
Had a great experience buying a bike from here as well as selling my previous bike. Jesse and the team are thorough and I believe you can trust every motorcycle that comes out of the Cycle Refinery. I highly recommend this place, and will be back in the future.
Outstanding.that’s the word that I keep thinking as I think about my experience.
I have a 2006 Shadow that had sat for years which is one of the worst things you can do to a motorcycle. It’s a process to get running and anyone who claims otherwise is not telling the truth. It was a process. I had a range to expect on pricing with brief discussion outline of what might be involved with Jesse. As an engineer, I absolutely understand and respect that. The TLDR is my bike had many issues, all resolved, and all done well and pricing fit. I’m super excited to get on road again on a solidly repaired nicely running bike and I’ve learned some about my bike in this whole process as well. All very good and I think i got lucky in choosing this place. Glad to recommend Cycle Refinery!
I do not often write reviews, but my experience with Cycle Refinery has been amazing: I spoke to Jesse (Owner) about an online issue and he engaged immediately and, as sign of appreciation, even discounted and accelerated the parts order. In a world where we can order from all the big online retailers, this is a place where customer service still means something.
This place has always done a great job on my bike. They are very helpful and pleasant to talk to.
There is a whole lot of cool packed into this place!
If your looking for parts for your bike or something unique to ride this is your place to check out. The owner has a ton of experience in working on things that go, from aircraft to classic European motorcycles. He believes in doing it right and keeping his customers safe and happy. Stop in and support this local shop, I think you'll be glad you did.
I live in a different state than Texas but reading Cycle Refinery’s reviews and reading “We ship nationwide so you can buy with confidence! ” on their site put some doubts to rest. I reached out to Cycle Refinery via phone inquiring about a used bike they had in inventory. I was asked to email any questions along with a picture of my ID to get shipping quotes and such. Jesse, the owner, contacted me via phone that night and was pleasant to speak with. Ultimately, I requested photos of any damage, a video of the bike running as well as a shipping quote; which Jesse had said he’d get to me that evening. I hadn’t heard anything when expecting to so I sent a friendly reminder the next morning via text. Again, I heard nothing. Two days later, I followed up with another phone call. I was told Jesse was busy but the message would be passed along. Again, I heard nothing. The next day, I sent an email to follow up once again. Finally, I received a text with the photos and video requested. The text had mentioned they were busy; understandable. Almost immediately after receiving the text, I requested a purchase order; this time I sent a text as well as an email to cover my bases. And again, I heard nothing. A whole week goes by before I called them again and, once again, was told Jesse was occupied but the message would be passed along. At this point, I’ve been essentially ignored and not feel as I was not valued as a potential customer. The same day, I called just to get an update as I have not heard from Jesse since his initial contact nearly two week ago. It was then that I was told that they had JUST received a deposit from a local buyer and the customer looked promising. I cannot explain the disappointment I felt at this point. I had sent 2 emails, 2 text messages and called 4 times in the span of 11 days just to find out the bike had received a deposit ten days after I initially inquired about it. The whole experience has been extremely discouraging and to me, is extremely unprofessional.
Update: I’ve chosen to update my review from 1 star to 2 stars. Almost immediately after posting my initial review, Jesse called me directly and said “now you’ve got me attention after bashing my business! ” We had a rather aggressive verbal exchange where ultimately, nothing was learned nor gained. I hope Cycle Refinery the best. They sound like they do great work; unfortunately, I wasn’t given the opportunity to see it, hence the update to 2 stars.
This place is the New Groovy Austin. I took my GPZ to Zabor"s Motorcycle back in the day for no-nonsense star quality wrenching/knowledge.but Cycle Refinery takes this concept to a whole new level!
Lucy the little dog might softly greet you at the door and Crystal the Human will interact with you on all things wheeled or legged. Make appt. Show up. Work Done. NO drama. Great vibes and south Austin cool. Amazing! Check the Monkey bikes for sale. Mecum quality!
Wanted to thank Jesse for his incredible knowledge and skill tracking down issues on my 2007 Ninja. I had an excellent experience from start to finish and couldn't be happier with the level of service I received. 11/10 +
Great group of friendly motorcycle nuts with great advice and lots of great bikes, parts and accessories.
