Love the service and my hair is always bomb. I now have my niece, a friend and her daughter going here. Ralphlina I’m sure I’m not spelling her name right is my stylist love her.

Long but honest and important warning
Do not let the younger lady sitting right behind the receptionist desk do your hair. I went there at 2: 40pm and since it was busy I wanted to make sure at least I get a deep conditioning and dry with rollers before I leave at 5pm to pick my kids from daycare. I was told that they could do everything and silk press before that time. I ended up leaving at 4pm with my hair half done but fully paid.
1- this lady wasn’t professional at all, at first I thought she didn’t speak English because she was just moving me around without even saying a word (for example she will turn off the drier and leave without telling me anything about what I should do)
2- she is not gentle at all with natural hair. She brushes from the bottom up, pulls hard the knots regardless of how much hair she will break and how bad your head will hurt.
3- She did not put my hair on rollers before the dryer because she wanted to go back to another client.
4-she then takes me out of the dryer with wet hair and I ask her why I don’t get rollers like others? To which she replies “you need to go right? ” (Mind you I left an hour before my time so she definitely had time to do her job properly.
5-I watched her work while I was under the dryer and this girl was burning people hair with excessive heat from the flat iron. She just doesn’t care about your natural hair and was doing 2 to 3 people hair while her coworkers were still on 1 head.
6- mine was going to be worse because my hair was still wet after the dryer without rollers.so I decided to decline flat ironing but she still ended up burning my scalp with excess heat from the blowdryer
7- $65 for a poor and incomplete job. Never again

Marta was such a doll.the stylist there don't say much if you are not sitting in their chair and maybe because it was late or close to closing. But my hair looks and feels AMAZING! The lady who washed it was very good, that was everything. Marta can work some hair and has a beautiful voice! Will be back!

I just moved to the area and wanted to get my hair blown out and trimed. The ladies were very professional and really hard working. I was in and out in less than 3 hours and the salon was packed. I would recommend coming here.

I love this place and this was only my second time visiting. I had a bold spot on the top of my head not from GENETICS, BUT FROM NEGLIGENCE OF ANOTHER STYLIST IN HOUSTON! I have worked hard to get my bald spot to grow (caused me 5 years of damage in one day made) and it has immensely! The STYLISTS there care and have helped in many was of my transition with this bald spot and my hair health altogether! My pics displays a 1000 words!

I went to D’ Dominican Salon for the first time and they were very professional I was in there under 3 hours which is amazing because the salon was full and it was multiple clients in front of me. They were very nice I got an amazing shampoo and deep condition and my blow out trim and straightening was awesome Malu did great will be back!

This message below was posted by a person named “Charlie”…. I’d like to add my two cents. I have been coming to Dominican Beaty Salon on a regular basis for over 5 years. I am African American (Black) with course, what we used to call think nappy hair. And No Mam, relaxer’s, nor any other types of chemicals have ever been used with or without my permission. The Service here is excellent and pricing in comparison to typical specialty AA Salons are by far cost savings. I would be interested in knowing, when did you realize a “chemical” was administered to your hair. What steps were taken, if any to bring your hair back to it’s natural state. I’d like to pose the same question to your Aunt. You have made very harsh unfounded allegations, borderline “Slander”. It’s hard to believe any stylists would relax your hair without consulting with you, their professional opinion and you give the OK to proceed with their recommendations. FYI - There are ethnic groups that can and will maintain our black hair, better than blacks themselves. Whatever lead to your disappointment, bashing and hating isn’t a kind act.

I haven’t had a perm in over 14 years. Someone at this shop on the right hand side permed my hair without my permission! My curl pattern is completely gone and my hair is severely damaged. I wouldn’t advise any BLACK woman that doesn’t perm her hair to visit this shop. THEY ARE LAZY. THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR HAIR and act like they don’t understand English when you ask them to show the products they’ve used in your hair! My aunt who frequents also experienced the same issue and had to go to another shop to revive her hair. I’m going to seek legal council because they are perming our hair without our permission. If you don’t like your job or your customers, please find another one and stop ruining our hair and taking the money we work hard for. I play about a lot of things but my hair is NOT one of them. We are taking this all the way to the BBB, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation & the Licensing Board of Cosmetology.

Came to D’Dominican Salon to get my hair straightened, it turned out great! Great service and staff friendly! When I get a chance to come here I always leave with my hair looking so pretty

I was recommended to try this salon however I’m so disappointed and upset with myself for wasting my time, money, and gas driving here. For one I felt extremely ashamed how the employees came and inspected my hair as if it was an issue. The stylist that did my hair was extremely rush and didn’t seem very knowledgeable at all she was combing my hair out from the roots…I had to tell her please comb/de tangle from bottom up I just took out braids. My press didn’t last longer than a day and my hair is so burnt…. The worst part to me was when the stylist seems to spin my around after walking over to her coworker and pointing back at me like look at this and then laugh. I’ve never felt so humiliated and ashamed for my hair in an actual beauty salon where it’s literally their chosen profession to do hair. If my hair seemed to be too difficult I would’ve appreciated being told that than received a half hair style and ridicule.

The people here are nice, unfortunately not good at what they do the 3 of us were going to get a haircut but after my daughter went in I was terrified of letting them cut my hair, they didn't even put the cape to prevent hair getting into my daughter's clothes, they had my daughter standing for the haircut and her hair looked all choppy, that was a complete disaster lady charged $20 but I had to go somewhere else to fix the horrible job they did. I Will never be back and I do not recommend this place

From the moment you walk in, the young man who serves is very friendly, you don't need an appointment to be attended to, I went for a haircut, even if I wasn't 100% satisfied, it wasn't bad, the price was not high compared to other salons in the area, perhaps because They have no experience in treating curly hair but they can work, I noticed that the place was full of clients who came for a good straightening so that shows that it is their specialty. I love for Darian to do my hair! She's so nice! I know that people request Martha a lot. Janet is very good also. I recommended a few people to come here too. Everyone has had a good experience so far! I also bring my daughters here.

Nice people and affordable prices. Handled my hair with care and gave me a great blowout with a trim.
