Steak House Dakotas reviews
15 We celebrated a very special occasion!
Everything was Perfect! Crab cake, calamari was the best we've had! Steaks were so tender. Absolutely perfect!
Where to start. We've been quite a few times over the years. Recently they've taken the two best things off the menu (Twice baked potatoes, and Crab). If you remove those options, and those were only done decently half the time, it's pretty Sub-Par at best. We've been to the Dakota's in Dallas, and it's a world away from the one in Tyler. People want use it being a smaller town for a excuse to be mediocre, but that's a cop-out. They have the capacity to be better, yet choose to be mediocre. The bar carries a limited amount of decent liquors, mostly well. Overall it's sad that people put up with mediocrity.
Went for my birthday with friends. My food was completely cold as was my friends. Won't be back
Fine dining at its best. Dakotas came highly recommended, and trust me, it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is definitely worth the 5 Star rating. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The appetizers were spot on. Our entrées were perfect. The temperatures were exactly light we ordered and seasoned perfectly. The sides were tasty as well. When I'm back in town, I will be paying Dakotas another visit.
Today I had the salmon. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. The asparagus and rice were delicious also.
In regards to steak, not worth the price. I've had equal or possibly better at Texas Roadhouse for less than half the price. My steak was too done & my wife's was too rare. The ribeye is not as thick & marbled as it should have been for this type of place & price. Glad I skipped ordering drinks since our bill was $180 for two of us. Would have been $60 at Roadhouse.
Excellent. Everything we ordered was of high quality, presentation, waiting time, food and wine temperatures. We loved everything.
Superior food, great ambiance, attention to detail. Recently went there, too close to closing time, but they took us in anyway!
For $50 a person it doesn't need to be perfect, but it does need to be above average. Server and staff was okay, food was barely warm. Nothing great or even good about the food in this place. Owner also charges a 3% surcharge for using credit cards, guess they aren't business savvy enough to build it into their pricing like every other business (I think LinkedIn offers free online courses for this). Or maybe the owner just thinks the customers will place the blame on the credit card companies. Sorry Owner, I can see your lack of abilities, it shows in your food also.
Nice location, good parking, and service. The waiter was very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. The lighting was dim and allowed for a nice atmosphere. The food was ok. I had the oysters which were delicious, and I definitely recommend it, i also got the salmon, and it was a salty. The drinks were really well done as well.
This was my first time at Dakota’s and the food was really good. The cheesecake was AMAZING!
This place has okay steak but they always cook it raw so if you like medium rare go up to medium they will give you a bleeding cow and call it medium rare
Came to Tyler for daughter's wedding. Friends recommended Dakotas for our special dinner. Beautiful restaurant. However, very disappointed in our meal. Steak was bland and tough, chicken was overcooked and dry. Brought wrong side and replacement didn't come out till we were almost finished. Considering the menu prices, would have expected better food. Can't recommend.
Everything that was provided by the staff was great! Bad part is our table was next to a rather obnoxious trivial pursuit party that belonged at a Buffalo wild wings.
This is a great place to go for date night or a nice event. A little pricey for an average, regular dining experience. Food is great, but higher prices, hence the 4 star. Overall we love it and go back when we can. They do have great drinks from the bar, which are actually reasonably priced considering.
