Service was excellent. I believe Kayla was the name of my waitress. She was very knowledgeable and came around to the table the perfect amount. I reserved a table in the bar area because it was just myself. The waitress quickly talked me through the menu and got me set down the right path. I started with the lavender haze cocktail and it was amazing. A refreshing and light cocktail to get started with some hors d'oeuvres. The loaded “tator tot”was just that. It’s the best “tator tot” you’ll ever have. The a5 Wagyu tartar is exactly what you’d expect but the sturgeon caviar is out of this world. I then went on to get the Japanese A5 Wagyu tasting. It was 6 oz total. 2 of each of filet, strip and ribeye. The presentation was fantastic. It was served on a warm salt block alongside a steak knife of your choice. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and paired with an excellent red wine that the name has escaped my mind. The sides I chose were the potato puree with Gruyère cheese and the fried Brussels sprouts with honey and bacon. Both of which were fantastic. Then to finish off I went with the tiramisu cheesecake and an espresso. I can’t tell you how great the tiramisu cheesecake was. Perfect blend of flavors. Not to much on the cheesecake and not to much tiramisu. Overall this place is excellent and well worth the money.

We went for my sister's birthday. This restaurant has a very entertaining history, beyond having beautiful views. I enjoyed the assortment of tunes played by the pianist. The staff was amazing. I really liked the atmosphere and great food. Wonderful outing.

I've been to most of the big steak houses in Dallas, I had high hopes for Dakota's. The food fell very short. The hors d'oeuvres featured one with wagu and another with caviar the pastries over whelmed the taste of the wagu and cavier. The tomahawk ribeye featured an 8oz bone and a small portion of meat and a high price. The overall experience didn't meet our expectations.

As a Father and protecter of my family, I suggest you do not go to Dakotas restaurant, we are not wanted there.

My Wife has always wanted to go here, she has told me this several times in the last ten months. We drive by this location weekly and she always smiles at the thought of going. A few weeks ago, I tried surprise her with reservations for our first date night in since the birth of our 3month old! When we pulled up, she was giddy and eager to experience Dakota Steakhouse. My Wife was even more thrilled because she is a new mom, and it our first date night since becoming a parents. I thought you couldn’t have done anything to wipe the smile off her face. As we exited the elevator, before we could take in the low lighting, the crisp white tablecloth that could be seen through the windows, and the multi-tier seating, we were greeted by a tall Asian gentleman who said hello, do you have a reservation?

My wife said yes in a very excited tone! Before she could get her name out of her mouth, he looked at our carseat and said, " Oh, we don't accept babies under the age of five at dinner. We sent you a text message stating that. "

My wife was so taken aback by his change in tone that she couldn't speak, so I responded. I had never gotten a text message. The man reacted adamantly and firmly again, saying yes, you did - they are always sent. I then put my daughter's car seat on the ground. He pointed at my my jean shorts and said, "And we don't accept people in the restaurant wearing those. Sorry, you won't be able to dine here". My wife told him, sir, can you check because we don't have text messages? We would've dressed according to your dress code, but we did not see anything about either thing you are stating. (we frequent Bobs, Ocean Prime, and Eddie Vs; we know some steakhouses have them and some do not, but they usually say it when booking the reservation.)
He said tell me your name, and I'll look up your reservation. We shared our name, and he returned within 15 seconds and said yes, I'm sure we sent you two text messages. Sorry, you won't be dining with us today.

Once we made it back home, I checked my email to see if they had sent anything. They sent an email two hours before we were supposed to dine at their establishment with their rules at the bottom of the email. No text in sight. No other emails

While my wife waited till she got in the car to burst into tears, the humiliation was all over me. I attempted to comfort my wife, but I knew this man had peeled away my dignity, and shamed me and my family. As a Husband and Father, I feel mighty, but that gentleman made me feel very small and unworthy of their experience.

He never offered to rebook our reservation or to move us to a later time. He never offered to get us food to go. He wasn't even kind or compassionate. To make matters worse they were all of five tables in the restaurant.

Before we got on the elevator, my wife turned around and asked him for his name, but she didn't need it because she will never forget his face and driving by won't be the same.

As I stated in the beginning - if you have a family, I suggest you do not go to Dakotas restaurant, we are not wanted there.

My husband made reservations for date night. We arrived and was told i would have to wear a Scarf to enter! I wore a red one piece corset with a red skirt. My breast were covered and I was with my husband of 10 years. As we came out after being turned around I seen a women with a dress that was see through which her undergarments was showing and another lady with her Palmer Anderson skirt and breast sitting up and out to be seen. The manager that stopped us was an African man trying to impress his managers by embarrassing us. Although we looked presentable and classy. He stated he know my breast were covered but to others it may not look like it. That is not cool! I was so embarrassed so I left without being seated. After speaking with valet they stated that people come in with very revealing outfits that look 10 times worst than mine and they allow them to enter. It was stated that they discriminate against certain individuals. I won’t return

I’ve been to every steakhouse in Dallas and Dakotas hands down tops them all. The toppings and sauce choices to accompany your steak is my favorite aspect of the menu. The tater tots are out of this world delicious. There’s really no other place I’d rather go to celebrate a special occasion.

All around 5 star experience! They use Allen Bro meat IYKYK! The history of this place makes it a true Dallas gem. The experience with their sommelier was top notch as well! Truly the BEST steak we’ve ever had and we have tried all the other steakhouses in DFW metro.

Best steak in DFW! Great service and atmosphere. Drinks are legit and the wine selection was superb. We drove from Fort Worth and will continue to as it'll be in our restaurant rotation.

I visited Dakota’s while in Dallas for the first time with some colleagues. The dinner from start to finish was impeccable. The unique underground steakhouses ambiance alongside the amazing service of Chrissy & Nico and the delicious food made it an unforgettable experience. I will definitely be back. I also highly recommend ending your meal with an espresso martini!

I decided to stop by this underground upscale restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. The service was fast, friendly and the food was flavorful. The chocolate mousse cake was delicious. Worth 5 stars.

Really nice looking place, but that's all I can say. Good service wasn't there, food had no much flavor and the steak tasted cheap for it to be dry age, good place for drinking but nothing about the food was impressive.

I recently stopped by Dakota's Steakhouse for lunch and was truly impressed. I tried two of their daily specials, the poblano & chorizo soup and the lobster, avocado toast. Both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were exquisite, and the quality of ingredients was evident. Dakota's never disappoints; it's a must-visit for anyone in Dallas looking for a fantastic dining experience.

Treating a young family with an infant like they're beneath you is a reflection of poor service and bad management. You know that tone that people in high-end establishments use to pretend they're above others? That's how the GM Ki An behaved when a young couple attempted to use their dining reservation. He not only did not let them in because they failed to know babies aren't allowed in the restaurant, but he also added for extra measure that they don't allow people dressed like them. I've been to Dakota's many times. But if this is their evolution, I won't be back until management changes. Apologize and stop treating young families like that. If you want to have unique rules, have the courtesy to call your guests and let them know WELL IN ADVANCE. If you don't reach them by phone, be prepared to gently make them aware and offer them to-go or a new reservation for another day. There's no upside to being condescending. That's how you lose customers.

I'm highly disappointed in the managers response to a couple that recently came in for a date night dinner.
Unbeknownst to them, they did not know that children were not allowed at this restaurant, which is fine, your restaurant, your rules!
However, when addressing the couple, with a 3 month old baby in hand, you do not talk down to them as if they are beneath you and rudly turn them away with a nasty judgemental tone and attitude.

A more mature and appropriate response might have been, "Oh were so sorry we don't allow babies during dinner hours but we would be happy to rebook you for another time at your convenience. "

Not looking them up and down as if they are trash and don't belong.
Will not be back at this restaurant until an appropriate apology is given and I'll update my review when that happens. We understand rules and regulations but being a complete jerk and condescending was completely unacceptable in this circumstance!

Good ingredients and good cuisine in general. The finishing of the meat cuts very well executed. The truffle butter gives the ribeye a spectacular flavor, I recommend it. The bad. Slow, bad, soulless service. A ticket of USD200 per person definitely deserves better attention.
