Dead Fish Grill, Belton TX

Fish was sized well, however very salty. Our party was seated quickly, however, our server was not exactly "prompt". Only refilled once, and only one of the two parties received a refill or acknowledgment of said refill. Overall, for the price mediocre at best. Nothing to write home about.

The place is beautiful. Beautiful scenery. Went there for a birthday dinner.the food was yummy! They had good music playing. Michael was our waiter and he was awesome at helping out with the menu his energy was great and he never forgot to refill my drink or ask if we needed anything. I'll definitely be coming back!:)

The atmosphere and views were breathtaking. The mahi mahi serving size was small. The fried fish plate was amazing. The steak was mouth watering. The prices were reasonable.

Beautiful atmosphere. Delicious food I went there for brunch and it was fantastic. Fish n chips perfect. Extra cold ac and beyond friendly staff. Superb service!

Do not go for brunch, they advertise brunch hours from 10 to 2pm.
We arrived at 1: 30pm, given dinner menus, and told the kitchen stops taking brunch orders at 1: 45pm.
But, we could not order our food off the dinner menu until after 2pm.
The expectation was for us to wait over 30mins until we could PLACE our order.
I feel that is poor customer service.

The place by the lake! Awesome views and wonderful service. You get treated well from the front door to table until you leave. They are even pet friendly! This is a must goto when in the area! Highly recommended

The view and waitress get a 5, the food a 3! Looked better than it tasted. Queso and chips, cheese didn't have much flavor, the fried shrimp were ok, but they would be awesome if they used the same batter they use for their frog legs. Cocktail sauce needed more horseradish and a splash of lemon. Coleslaw was awful.no flavor at all. My husband frog legs tasted "fishy" they are not supposed to.we might go back for a drink outside with a beautiful view of Belton Lake, but not anytime soon.

This was my 2nd visit here. Decided not to give a review the first time because I was hoping it was perhaps just a fluke night in the kitchen.went with daughter on 2nd visit in the daytime and I ordered the shrimp plate.my cocktail sauce was served stiff as if it was taken out of the freezer when I had to request it. Asked for another and it was clumped inside a cup and spilling over.there were a few issues with the shrimp itself. 1) was not hot 2) too much breading 3) tasted as if they were frozen and not fresh 4) tasted as if they were freezer burned. The coleslaw was semi dry and not seasoned.the hush puppies were bland as well.
I didn't request food be sent back for personal reasons.i ate my fries and had my drink.the ambiance of looking out at the lake was about the only good thing I have experienced thus far.not sure if i will give it a 3rd try though.

Pretty delicious! Came here after moving in and it was pretty good. I got the shrimp tacos, and they were great. My brother loved his burger and my boyfriend loved the coconut shrip. We sat outside and the view was stunning. The wait for our food was kind of long despite the restaurant seemingly not busy, but didn't really effect my group.

Great view, great service, wife said her shrimp was good.disappointed in the frog legs.batter was excellent-put that batter on shrimp and you got something-meat on the legs was fishy tasting and real chewy.

Great food, beautiful Belton Lake view, meals served indoor or outdoor, bars indoors and outdoors, cocktails very good and reasonably priced, clean restaurant, live music stages, party rooms, big parking lots, if you order the Porkchop Dinner be prepared of a huge 3" thick prime cut! To give a 5 star they should add their menu to the website for out of towners. We loved it

Our waiter scott was awesome. We were a party of almost twenty and he took care of business with a great attitude and efficiently. Even if I did want three refills on my soda Perfect view. I'll come here again absolutely

I had such a great time an out of towner at this restaurant! The views were absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing and delicious. I was attending a wedding which again was beautiful but I would like to make one suggestion, hopefully to better future brides wedding experience. Having just gotten married myself in May, I understand how expensive weddings are, and I would have been so terribly upset had my entire wedding party not been able to see my ceremony. It seems only the front row of guests were able to view the ceremony here. The actual area where the bride, groom, and bridesmaids & groomsmen stand is much lower then the area where the guests sit.which makes it impossible for anyone to see the bride during the actual wedding besides the peopleon the front row! That was pretty disappointing. I would suggest for such a nice beautiful venue to add a stage for the bridal party to stand to be in view of the guests. Other then not being able to see the wedding I drove hours to attend, this place is a 10!

Love coming to Dead Fish Grill! I always enjoy the food and views of Belton Lake. The Chicken Fried Steak is my favorite! The staff has always been kind and friendly. It has been busy a few times I've gone, but that understandable. It's a great place for people who want to tour locally also! Can't wait to go back!

Great selection of seafood, very tasty salmon!
Tres leches w/strawberries tasted more like a doughy pie.might try key lime pie next time! Wonderful view of lake & awesome service from Scott H! Will definitely visit again with friends.made dinner fun & enjoyable!

Fantastic coconut shrimp, the outside views are amazing and the occasional breeze felt really nice but not so windy that it blows everything away.

The wait was a little long but it was well worth it, the atmosphere was nice and calm. Definitely should give it a try with some friends

I had always wanted to go to this restaurant a d I finally did. The atmosphere and the view overlooking the water was amazing. Beautiful. The food was delicious. No complaints. The wait staff was very friendly. I'm looking forward to going back again.

I wouldve rated it 5, but the wait was a little long even though only a few people were there, but once we got the food, it was amazing, the food tasted so good there, and the bread on the burgers was as good as city hall cafe's sourdough

Came here yesterday with a group of 8 for the first time. The place is awesome with great ambience. The food was delicious, but rather small portions for the price. We all left still hungry. The seafood mac n cheese was ordered by 2 grown men and both thought it was a kids portion. Also, they tacked on a 20% gratuity which i thought was high. Most restaurants add 18% for a party.

It wasn't all that. My food wasnt the best quality. The waitress was really nice, but she lacked in service, it was hard to catch anyone where we were sitting and I went 30+ minutes without being offered a refill, had to ask upon paying. FABULOUS view tho!
