The scorching sun did not take away the eagerness to explore the place. A day is not enough to spend in this place.

Why is the old Red Courthouse closed? That's a very nice building to be sitting empty.

Huge piece of American history that allows you to see and experience firsthand the location of JFK's assassination. Lots of info boards installed to get a better understanding of the event as well.

A somber place for the location of the presidents assassination, kind of strange it's still just a mark on the road and not paved over for a monument but it does really put to bed the conspiracies when the window is like right next to where it happened

It's Dallas' center of interest with a neighborhood entirely dedicated to the JFK assassination. Yet the atmosphere that emanates here is quite cold despite the 40°C at 10am.
The absence of a statue of the president there or in the park next door dehumanizes what is not even really presented as a drama by the very formal commemorative plaques. The whole thing is chilling while this place is objectively an essential place charged with emotions in the history of the 20th century of the USA.
Do not miss.

Being there in person is quite impactful. To see daily traffic passing through the area and over the "X's" indicating the moment the shots met their target is really eye-opening. If you haven't, read Jim Garrison's book, watch Oliver Stone's _JFK_, and then his follow-up documentary, _JFK: Through the Looking Glass_. Makes the visit to Dealey Plaza that much more important and eye-opening.

Very solemn place. Unusual atmosphere given the reason for its existence. Very well presented. 4 star rating is for the simple fact there is an air of morbidity to it not for the presentation or quality of the museum.

This is a place every American should visit at least once. Everyone has seen the footage of that terrible day, but being there in person and walking the plaza lets you first hand experience the levity of that day. It is worth the trip and the 6th floor museum at the book depository is also a must. Beware this museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. So due plan your trip to Dealey Plaza to align with this schedule.

Beware of the scammers trying to give "free" literature and maps to you. They aren't free. Just keep walking if someone comes up and tries to give you free literature while giving a history lesson. They will leave you alone if you keep walking or tell them no.

One other tip when you visit. Go during the day because it is safe then, but that can change in the evening.

If this review was helpful let us know and hit the thumbs up.

If you want to get a better understanding of the assassination of JFK, then go see this place! I took several pictures of the grassy knoll and point of views from where JFK was shot. The x's on the road mark where he was on the road when he got shot.

The picture with the first x higher on the road is supposed to be the first shot. The close up x is the second shot from the grass knoll area.

Great spot, very pretty. Hilarious signage with the "Allegedly" being scratched out. Paints a great picture of what all was going on at the time of the event.

I must say that I was blown away by the peacefulness of the location.
The museum is worth going to as well and there are clear views of Dallas and the grassy knoll from the windows.
Give it a shot.

It will be 60 years in November that the Great President John Kennedy and his beautiful wife Jacqueline Kennedy rode through this park. And within seconds it was over.

It was awesome to see ground zero for this famous place. I admitted cried but I have done of research about jfk and this place so I had my own reasons. Would love to see the inside of actual book depository some day but didn't make inside this time.

Touring the JFK assassination museum at the Dealey Plaza 6th Floor Museum was a profoundly moving experience. The somber atmosphere, coupled with the chilling proximity to the site where Lee Harvey Oswald positioned himself, elicited a range of emotions. The detailed animation of the assassination and the presence of the cross on the road transported me back in time, offering a tangible connection to the tragic events of that day. It served as a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of history and the importance of remembering and reflecting upon significant moments that shape our world.

Since this landmark location was so close the Dallas Love Field, we stopped by to check it out. Very somber experience to think of this spot where JFK was assassinated.

Dealey plaza is a staple of your visit to Dallas. We bought tickets there and there are two lines. One for ticket holders and one for those who need to purchase tickets. Make sure you read the signs and get in the proper line. You can go at your own pace with this tour just be mindful that others are going through the tour as well so be respectful. They no longer do the audio tours so we were disappointed to see that but they still have it setup very nice. We went on a Sunday and it was busy but we waited about 30 minutes in the line once we had tickets. They do have restrooms on the 7th floor and a very nice gift shop. There is also a room on the 7th floor that boasts great views of the grassy knoll, the X’s on the street and of some views of Dallas. We parked in the lot behind the book depository and it was $10.35 and I was able to pay it from my phone and just scan the ticket on the way out. You can pay with card at the machine on the way out as well. Watch out for people walking around the grassy knoll. Lots of foot traffic in this area. Overall it was a great trip and we will absolutely visit again!

Stands as an elegant square in the old and historical downtown.

This spot symbolizes the early trading site with native American.

It also carries a painful historical building from where the President JFK was assassinated! The building houses a 6th Floor museum that describes the unpleasant event! Also, a befitting monument for President JFK.

Don't miss the historical old red museum, the JFK memorial plaza, holocaust museum etc.
