Decant Urban Winery reviews
16Tasted 3 wines. Excellent on all 3. Highly recommend this winery. We'll definitely be back
We had a great experience here! Kristina was friendly and took her time to tell us about everything they had available. We ended up getting two flights of four so we could try all eight wines, and we left with 4 bottles to take home. The most unique (and my personal favorites) were the Pinot Noir Rosé and the Mourvedre. We will definitely be back for more!
Five star service with one star wine - and I'd go negative on the wine.
Healthy pours for a tasting - four half glasses. Decent for the price.
Tge savignon blanc had a mediocre bouquet with a wet vs dry finish like you'd get from a fine New Zealand Marlborough vintage. The mouvedre was served chilled, had no bouquet, and was monotonal until the finish which was not at all tasty. The Texas cab was so rich in tannins we considered it undrinkable and ditto for the pinot noir - the bouquet on both was unpleasant.
They had creative wine cocktails, which could be a great use for these wines. Based on our sampling, we are not fans ov the wines themselves. Not one wine we sampled was one we would try again outside of a cocktail.
Service was outstanding. Perhaps the product will improve.
Stopped in for a tasting. It's 4 of their wines and a half glass each pour. My husband and I split the tasting. They source their grapes but make all of their wines. They age in cement. Their sauvignon blanc lacked a dry finish expected but had a floral forward flavor. The mouvedre was light but good. The Texas cabernet sauvignon was bitter and inky. The petit syrah tasted like nail polish remover.
Great experience! The owner was so friendly and took the time to tell us about the origin and description of each wine. He made our team feel welcomed. It was fun! We were also able to buy a pizza from the food truck next door and est there.
Tried this place. Ordered from the wine selection posted on a board, never saw a menu. It's clean and quiet. Enjoyed the wine, service and the experience UNTIL hours later after we been paid and left the winery my card got hit with an 20% gratuity charge. That was upsetting and shady. Nothing was written nor was we told about a 20% gratuity, even when we paid the tab.
The parking in the area is horrible and there is major construction on repaving the street and making a side walk.
Here is an updated response to Winery:
The tab was closed before leaving, did not consent to 20% tip and got receipt emailed. Again, after checking the emailed receipt later is where the 20% gratuity was added. Regardless, the rule you stated does not apply to me however FYI, you legally have to post for all patrons to see that if they leave and do not close their tab that you will add a 20% tip. I have seen that posted at many of places on the menu, the wall, the receipt.
My boyfriend and I had been next door at Walking Stick and saw this cute winery and decided to go based off of the excellent reviews. I really wanted to like this winery but the wine was just not good. We ordered a cab and a merlot and we both tried to drink them for a few minutes before I admitted that I didn't like mine and my boyfriend immediately agreed. It wasn't busy at all so maybe the wine had been opened for a while and hadn't been used? I'm not sure what happened but it was $35 for 2 glasses that we ended up leaving on the table mostly full.
Amazing place to sit chill& drink some locally made wine from Grapes all over America.
Their Petite Sirah is hands down my favorite!
Amazing urban winery! Such a local gem off of Wakefield. If you haven’t tried their wines you are missing out, great quality and wide variety. New wines are added every four months, great for those that want to try new wines. Just had their Petite Sirah (off menu), it was wonderful. Stop by and grab a glass, you won’t regret it.
Wonderful place to enjoy a nice glass of wine and hang out. We celebrated my niece 21st birthday there and it was a great afternoon.
Very relaxed and calm atmosphere. If you are looking for a great wine based cocktail, I highly recommend Decant!
Great winery in warehouse. Good selection of wines and very nice staff. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
One of the best craft wineries in the Houston are. Stop by and experience the ance of their wines.
Owners (Husband and Wife) are super nice. Ambiance is great and the wine is absolutely delicious!
Had a great experience here. The pizza truck outside took a while to make our food, but the nice lady running the place let us stay after close to finish up our food. The Albariño is fantastic. Get it while you still can!
Owner and staff are so nice! Their wine is delicious, my favorite is the Zinfandel. They have an inside and outdoor patio
