Delia's Specializing in Tamales reviews
13I placed my order way earlier in the day. So I just had to go inside and pick up my order. They were fast and had my tamales hot and ready. There is a long line if you don't place a order way ahead.
If you know you know. Delia's has always produced the most amazing tamales. This location was bringing the heat today, the drive thru line was 12 cars deep and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes.
I used to tell everyone that if you were within an hour of Delia's it was worth the trip to make the detour to Delia's. I used to do that.and just did a 2+ hour detour but was very disappointed. Because I no longer live in the area I purchase almost $200 worth of tamales. Last time I purchased the chicken and they were dry, but the others were good. So this time I did not purchase chicken, but instead purchased bean/ch/jal, ch/jal, pork, beans, and Veracruzano's. The only ones that were worth reheating were the Veracruzano's and the Crm Ch/Jalapeno. PORK TAMALES AND BEAN TAMALES WERE EXTREMELY DRY! VERY DRY-FELL APART-BECAME TRASH. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Also very embarrassed because I "gifted" some and they replied 'politely' but I know they did not like!
As mentioned, a previous time, the chicken tamales were very dry, but apparently all of them are drying up so I will NO LONGER RECOMMEND-OR GO OUT OF MY WAY AGAIN. In fact, the HEB and Sam's frozen tamales are MUCH BETTER.
P. S. The "Covid wipe down reception at door" was OVER THE TOP. Geez!
This place is the absolute best place in the world for tamales! The hot sauce is amazing. Can't say Enough good things about this place. You will not be disappointed. ️
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and were completely parched/borderline couldn't breathe and drank that glass of water that just obliterates that thirst? Well this place tastes as good as that feels.
I've been in DFW area for 20 years and still haven't been able to find any place or person who can make tamales even close to Delia's. They are full of meat and have a great variety to choose from. Here there's a lot of masa and very little inside.
Very rude lady at the register. Rolled her eyes as I asked questions about what they had available. Will not be going back.
We usually travel from Brownsville Texas to Delia's often to buy their tamales. The drive thru is so fast and smooth. They accept cards as well. They are also wheelchair accessible. Their website does ship tamales also. We've had tamales shipped to Houston when we used to live there. Best tamales ever. They are worth the price. We go and buy over 10 dozens and pick up orders from family members to save them the trip.
It is an experience you’ll never forget, along tamales they also have menudo served freshly made tortillas. It is a wonderful place to have lunch after church. I would recommend to go during the week.
Went through drive thru. Priscilla was very professional and service didn't take long for a Sunday. Tamales are always great!
I’ve always praised my aunts tamales. She passed away 2015 and her tamale recipe went with her. When I first had Delia’s tamales my eyes welled up with tears. They are just like my Tia’s. They have such a variety but if I had to choose.chicken in green sauce and frijoles con queso are my two favorite.
The best, moistest, most perfectly consistent taste, filling to mása balance. No contest. Can't go wrong with chicken, pork, or cheese and jalapeño.
Absolutely amazing! This place came highly recommended by a local as “the best tamale place in Texas”. The tamales were tasty, cheap, and ready to order. Recommend 100 %!
