Denton County WIC reviews
7I was on hold for an hour and a half and a lady named Lety hung up on me because I didn't have my card number. I asked her over and over if she could look me up by any other method. Customer service that is handled like this should be reprimanded. I hope they record calls.
They're polite and everything but be advised that they actually close between 11 and 1. Got here at 1130 and was told I couldn't be seen. Now I have to figure out what to do with my 3 ye old and 6 month old for an hour and half bc it's a 40 min drive home.
If you're going to close at 11, close at 11 don't say you're closed at 12.
My daughter and I were up there yesterday to have my grandson's perscription added to wic being that he is milk sensitive so everything had to be changed she was waiting over 2 hours while people that were coming in behind us we're getting scene 1st I don't feel that is very fair regardless of whythey were there. It should be 1st come 1st serve no matter what
I can’t even get an appointment made bc I can only call between 12: 30 and 1 during breaks and no one ever answers. The machine says that they are closed smh.
I really wasn't sure what to expect. I went on a Thursday around 2: 00 and it was not busy at all, so I only had to wait a few minutes to be seen. Every staff member was helpful, respectful, and caring. The building was also nice and comfy. I'm so thankful this resource is here in Denton for me to access.
UPDATE (04/2018) : Improving. Less wait time & friendly.
PREVIOUS POST (03/2018) : I love this W. I. C location, I've been here for a year now in North Texas and the staff here at this location is usally very kind and always do their best in answering any questions I've had, but today there was a couple of staff members who answered my calls today and changed my whole outlook on this place. I call after 2 pm and was placed on hold I waited nearly 13mins. So I hung up and called (thinking they may of forgotten about me because it happened once before, we're only human) back. The lady who answered the second time said, "Hello ma'am I'm putting you on hold. " I said nothing and hung up thinking, ". Well they must be busy? I'll call in an hour. " So I called an hour later. The lady who answered my phone call the 3rd time let me know also that she was putting me on hold, I said, ". Sorry no I was put on hold twice already about an hour ago. " The staff member stated to me that they were having to put people on hold for over and HOUR! I told her I had one simple question. Which I pushed my quick question on the staff member because I felt it wasn't right the way they were treating their clients/patients. "If I have to do an online class do I need an appointment? " The staff member was forward and said, "No. " Which in my case I felt relived because rules change so I felt the need to ask. I am giving 2 stars because the staff needs to be more humble and concerned about client/patient needs. At least explain the wait time. The staff can show more respect then they have today.
So what this office is doing is making people wait for longer than an 1 hour so they can see less customers each day. There are mothers in here with newborns, infants, etc. Even if you are only needing to upgrade your benefits on your WIC card you have to wait long times. This is something they do on the computer and take less than 3 minutes. It's so sad. I have no more comments. Me like everybody else in this waiting area are here because we need the service and the extra help to buy formula for our kids.
