Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Denton TX

If you're not from Texas and are there visiting looking for a Texas barbecue experience, this is not the place to go. Food was ready super fast but it was also on the cold side of warm. I've had better barbecue in places in Wisconsin then this place in Texas. I realize this is the chain restaurant and shouldn't expect greatness, but I thought oh well we're in Texas we didn't want to go look around for anything and this was on our way out so we gave it a shot.

Ordered a meal and was not delivered. Owner was polite and made my order right. Meal was excellent and when I’m ever in Denton, TX will stop in again. Thank you for the service

My wife and I came to Denton to visit Bucees. We pulled in the Dickeys barbecue since we know the name from Oklahoma. She had a rib dinner the ribs were just fall off the bone good the the coleslaw fantastic the cheesey were good all the food was warm. I had the burntends, green beans And Peach cobbler. Overall fantastic experience definitely come back when we're in Denton again recommend that everybody stop here and try the food you like it

TERRIBLE. No A/C, ice cream machine broken, soda was nasty. Brisket was completely devoid of flavor, dry as a bone and their sides were clearly leftovers from the two customers that came for lunch. I have never eaten worse BBQ in my life, including 2am gas station BBQ.

Not the same Dickeys I used to love. Overpriced. Brisket was dry. No "fixing" bar for onions, relish, pickles, and peppers. Ice cream machine didn't work. Last time I will ever eat at Dickeys.

Found a FLY in my sandwich. When I came home and took a bite of it I don't know why I think it was my instinct but I didn't wanna eat the bun just the meat so I poured the brisket out of the bun just to find a dead fly in it. It grossed me so much I had to vomit it was really disappointing specially bc it was my first time trying This place and definitely not going back it was my first and last. I was planing on eating there but their AC wasn't even working so I decided to take it home. It was all a waste of time and money. I was gonna go to Rudy's BBQ but Dickies was closer to where I was at that time but I think I'll stick with Rudy's from now on. Edit review after they replied here to my review saying to get in touch with the. So they would solve my issue they DID NOT! I got back to them and they only asked for all my info and than they don't reply to me anymore. If they put here that they are sorry and to get in touch with them, don't, because they're only going to waste your time and just ignore you. They just wanna make the sell look good but they really don't even care about their customers. Worst experience ever. Needles to say I'm never going back to this nasty place.

WILL NOT GO BACK HERE EVER AGAIN! The girl at the window is both rude and does not listen to your order. In the last few months the service has fallen off to the point that I will never go back to this location.

A year ago I gave this place a five-star rating, this year they receive a one-star rating. I ordered a poor boy sandwich and okra. When I got home, it was a pulled pork sandwich and that's all. I called the store back and attempted some reconciliation and was told they didn't do that. I called Dickey's customer service line and they attempted to get my refund from the owner. The owner declined with no explanation. Dickeys offered me some coupons, a small consolation for what I went through. If you go to the store, you are warned!

Walk in at 30 minutes before closing! Wanted 1 lb brisket, they cut upen a FRESH one.we got TWO pounds! Very clean store, people are SUPER friendly! Brisket was excellent and also the sausage! Just what we needed after a busy LONG day.

Ordered thru doordash here and they forgot my wife's sides so I had to drive up there and get them. They corrected the issue but still this should not have happened. Also the ribs barely had any meat on them and tge extra rolls we ordered were hard as a rock.

They consistently get the order wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. The entire staff doesn’t speak English properly or know how to communicate with customers. Ridiculous!

I have the opportunity to meet the owner and she gave us a 10% discount with the flyer from my Church in Zion Glory! She was very friendly and this location is very clean! We love it.

I'll give three stars and assume it was the staff working and not a representation of the whole restaurant. I ordered a Giant Baker w/ meat, the woman asked if I wanted everything on it, to which I answered 'yes'.

So apparently 'everything' includes three forks of meat, more cheese on the paper than the potato, and no green onions and no bbq sauce. The green onions I can get over but how do you not include bbq sauce, that's a main staple of a BBQ RESTAURANT.

I paid $15 for this dry potato and a tea. There is too much competition in Denton for this to be acceptable.

The portions are very scant and the prices are outrageous. Ordered the 2 meat plate and the ribs were very small not to mention more bone than meat and I am charged 21 dollars! Won't be

Gave 1 star because you couldn't give less. My daughter just sat in front of the store because she placed an online order for curbside (one of YOUR options) & finally went through the drive-through where they just handed her the food & slammed the window shut without saying a word. I could even hear how rude they were when they were talking through the drive thru speaker while I was on the phone with her.

The staff at this dickeys is really great. They always keep us up to date on the best specials when we come in and they are all very friendly. I come here pretty regularly and the food is always awesome too.

We ask for a delivery service for 60 scouts in our big soccer event on Saturday and 50 on Sunday on a holiday weekend, the food arrived on time and warm, was great service

I had a really good experience at this dickeys. They were very busy but they were still really fast. The food was really good too. I got the brisket and it was just right.

Stopped by to get gas beside them. I went in for some food and they gave nothing but great food. Truly appreciate the staff there. Nothing but hard workers. Love the restaurant. Definitely worth the money.

Giant baker with meat loaded is the Best! Brisket was excellent and service was beyond expectations. Got the pleasure of meeting the owner, very friendly and sweet lady. She wanted to make sure everything was ok in our table. Will go back very soon!
