Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Friendswood TX

Just went across the street to get something to eat. Who ever that person was identifying himself as the manager was so rude, he even discouraged me not to eat there, if we could not meet there expectations on the baked potato. I asked what size were they? He said if your looking for a certain size, then don't buy it here, go somewhere' s else. So I did and went to Rudy's. I was greeted with a smile, then the Sour LEMON this guy was sucking on. I will never go back to Dickey's across the street from where I work. I will travel the 12 minutes to Rudy's and be treated with Respect and Great Customer service. Whoever employed this person, needs to re-access as to why they hired someone who drives your business away. Keeping him behind the counter, will keep you from not making money (Closure do to not making profit) guess why? Yep, Mr. Sour puss himself. Sorry Mr. Owner on 210 E. Food was average at best. Portions were small for the price. All the sides seem like they came pre made from a tub.

I haven't eaten at a Dickey's in probably about 3 years before today. I wanted some Bar-B-Q and this was way closer than Rudy's or Pappas. So I thought I would give it a shot.

I ordered on line and the pictures on the website make it seem like you are getting a decent amount of food, and considering the price from a 2 meat plate is $17.49. I would have hoped so.

Placed the order for a 2 meat plate with double brisket and mac &Cheese.as well as a baked potato with chopped brisket.

Arrived at the pick up time and first thing I noticed was how quiet the place was. No music or any talking. Second thing I noticed was 1 person working behind the counter, no sign of anyone else. Third, the A/C was out.so it was a little warm. Place was empty, only 2 other people in the place.at 12PM. "Lunch rush"

The gentlemen behind the counter just looked up, didn't say anything and went back to cutting meat. Having never been to this location before, I thought there might be a place to pick up.no signs. So after about a minute, I walked up the counter and said I was here to pick up an order. All the gentlemen said was, "I am working on it". Okay.

So I sat and waited about 7 minutes past my pick up time. He said my order was ready, went to pick it up and left. Not much personality, but not rude either. Seemed like he could be doing better things but was stuck at work.

Got home:

The good:
1.) Food was hot.
2.) Brisket was moist.

The bad:
1.) Double brisket on the plate = 1/4 lbs.of brisket I guess. Very under whelming on the amount of meat you get for $17.50.2.) The sides come in a tiny container, maybe about 3 spoon fulls of mac & cheese.
3.) The potato was also very small.like a regular sized potato you get at the store. Not a jumbo potato. So again, portions were small compared to the $13 price.
4.) Although the brisket was moist, the flavor was flat. Under seasoned.
5.) Bar-B-Q sauce that comes with the meal, also under seasoned and flat tasting. Ended up using Rudy's Bar-B-Q sauce at home.

Overall, not "bad" Bar-B-Q.but "maybe" average Bar-B-Q. Prices are very high compared to the quality of meat and the portion sizes. More of a sub $10 meal than anything. I wouldn't sit and eat here, broken AC and the only staff member there seemed bothered to be there.

Next time I will drive by this place and make the extra 15 minute drive to Rudy's if I am spending $32 for a meal for two.

When I inquired why the price was drastically more expensive than the location by my office, the guy behind the counter started to lecture me about his restaurant and I could have my money back and leave. A very “Soup Nazi” vibe in there. I love Dickey’s, I eat it a few times a week, but I won’t be going back to this location. After eating the potato, it was not near as good as the other locations. It was lumpy and the chicken was dry. The entire experience was bad and I encourage you to find a different location or just a different restaurant all together.

Worst bbq ever, the sausage was literally boiled in hot water. The brisket and sides were just re-heated in a microwave. I got home and threw it straight it the trash

I never leave reviews. But everyone that tried it agreed it was not fresh and it was not good. Today I stopped to get food for an event. I ordered a family meal listed at $65 that was supposed to have 2 lbs of meat and 3 sides and rolls. The brisket was not fresh, the rolls were hard uneatable, the sides were ok (macaroni and cheese and green beans were fine) but the potato casserole tasted odd. The chicken had a strange sauce on it like teriyaki not sure what it was, but it was not just plain chicken sliced like the other Dickies do it. I wanted to give them a chance but I am not kidding everyone that tasted it said something. We had left overs cause people didn’t like it. I was the only customer there at noon and there was only one person working and that should have been giving me big red flags. I won’t be going back to Friendswood Dickies

My husband goes to the Dickey 's over in Baytown area for lunch while at work and he raves about how good the food is there. He loves the wings and fried okra. So recently my husband, kids and myself were driving through Friendswood and he recommended stopping at this location since we were all wanting BBQ. It was definitely not the same experience he described from the Baytown location. First thing I noticed was it was very hot inside. I'm guessing issues w the AC.which okay, not their fault so we went ahead and ordered. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and 3 kids meals for my kids. My husband noticed their menu was different. The main thing he wanted was the wings w a side of okra. Neither was listed on the menu. He asked about it and they said they don't have that at this location. So my husband wasn't happy about that. He did go ahead and order a pulled pork sandwich though. Next thing I noticed was the prices were all wrong. I guess they increased all their prices but still haven't changed the menu. When you change your price, updating the menu should be the next step. All our food came out at different times. I wasn't happy to see the sides were all squeezed out of plastic bags and heated up. The meals were much smaller than I expected.especially after the price increase. The food wasn't bad.not great though. There were 2 employees working at the time we went. The girl was very polite and easy to talk to. The man working there definitely was not. He gave off this annoyed vibe the whole time I was asking about the menu. Bottom line, I do not recommend this place. Other locations might be much better. Just like the one in Baytown that my husband likes.

I received an email from Dickey's about a free sandwich promotion. I opted to use it today. I placed my order through the app, I followed the tracker, I drove to the location after the tracker showed it was ready for pickup, and upon arriving, I was informed that they called to say the order was cancelled. The order was cancelled because they ran out of meat (at 2: 30pm). I didn't have any missed calls from them. Why is this place even open if they are out of meat?

This is literally the worst bbq place I've ever been to in my life. Good, fast, cheap.this place has none of those. Food is just microwaved, not fresh. Service was a zero from the guy who acted like we inconvenienced him by being there and the prices are outrageous for what it is. Do NOT eat here. My dad also had food poisoning for the remainder of the day. He even had to visit the clinic it was so bad!

The drive through is always quick and efficient even though the line is ALWAYS long. It is very well worth the short wait. They never mess up an order (of mine) and always have great customer service.

The manger is extremely rude to the customers, raising his voice to them “do you even listen? , cancel the online order, i don’t care”. In front of me placing my order. The prices are different than the board says. It’s quiet, absolutely low light not very welcoming environment any more. I remember 2 years ago it was beautiful.

The manager of this restaurant is a racist. He refused to serve a man that had a delivery pickup order simply because he couldn’t speak English. I tried to translate with the little spanish I knew and he stated “I don’t serve Mexicans that don’t speak English. ” And proceeded to yell to get the F out of his restaurant. Highly do not recommend to come here as you will be treated poorly.

Service was slow, person that took my order had to call manager/owner to cut, portion, and weigh the meat. He took his time and weighed it so precise that he put back a tiny piece of meat. I watched the process and thought wow really!
The burnt ends were dry and so was the sliced brisket.
There were no customers in dining area, it didn’t even smell like bbq.
Was very disappointed.

Food was worth the price. Barbecue was dry. Our order came our in batches. Poor service as well.

Avoid this place. Worst BBQ and customer service you could ever experience. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Extremely slow! Ordered online and showed up at the time told to be there and still had to wait 15 minutes because they hadn't started my order! Then the brisket was so dry! They didn't have sprite yet no one reached out to let me know. I won't be going back to this location!

Slow, over priced, and not fresh. I went during lunch time on a Wednesday. I thought it was odd it didn't smell like BBQ and it was empty during lunch time. There was one person working during lunch time. He worked very slow. I watched him open pre-made food from plastic wrappers. The sides were pulled out of a fridge and microwaved. After waiting 20 minutes watching this guy move so slow, I was charged 20 dollars for pork ribs a la carte. Don't waste your time and money.
