Discovery Point Retreat reviews
10Didn’t like this place. Newbies are in rooms right off the kitchen and in the morning it is VERY LOUD
Such an amazing place, the facility, the staff, a wonderful place to get your life back on track. The Staff is amazing. Love the Waxahatchie faculty are the best
The staff at the Waxahatchie location are the BEST, comfortable atmosphere, hey are there to help in a loving caring way
I have worked with/ staffed for Discovery Point Retreat locations for quite sometime and absolutely love working with them! Tiffany K. Is awesome to work with and very professional and gets things taken care of!
My best friend died this morning at this facility.he was put in this facility for attempted suicide.he’s dead now.
Although we did become sober, we were told my insurance would cover the stay to find out when we got home we had numerous letters from my insurance stating DPR was not covered. We were told if we left early we would just go get drunk, we stayed 30 days and was told we were leaving ama and no certification would be given. They tried every way to keep myself and my husband there an additional 30 days. We were also told we weren't ready to leave and that we would be back, well, we are thriving and still sober. Very nice of the 2 directors to speak to us in this manner, real professionalism at this place. Our insurance was charged another whole week after we had already left, smh, some of the rcs were decent, (Susie, Sara and Sarah, Ariel, Courtney and Ms. Cindy then some not. We had mostly temp nurses and they were always rude and intolerable, however, the 3 permanent nurses (Bobbi, Tiffany and Amanda) are amazing angels!
It was such a soap opera here, the 2 directors, (Birdie and Kelly) cared more about the glorious outings than the clients health and stability. This is such a waste of what could be a great opportunity for people.
Discovery point retreat is I am in interested I do have been struggling with anxiety and depression all my life dealing with social behavior it is very bad that how I felt left out and it's stressing but I really think that I can control my fears and there's something I can work on is having a good behaviors controlling my stress anxiety and depression where I can be engaged with other people who are smart and loveable to be around
This place seems great at first, but as soon as you voice your opinion and tell them how you feel… ITS OVER! Birdie and Kelly are bullying, gaslighting, and manipulating the residents when they want to leave the facility. They make threats and harass your emergency contacts. The tactics they use are truly disturbing! They have been reported, however I would like people to know what they are getting into before willingly entering this rehab! They are liars!
Birdie is the best. This was a great rehab to be at and is a definitely a good place to start a change at
So, I went to Discovery Point in Waxahachie for rehab. I want everyone to know Discovery point Waxahachie does not take ANY insurance. The showers only had hot water for 4 minutes max. On day two we had no gas and on day 3 we had no water. They have two dishwashers; one works and the other has been broken for a long time. The broken dishwasher sits with a 4-inch pool of water, rotting food and black mold. The smell is awful. If you leave sooner than they want you too, they make up all kinds of reasons you can’t leave so that they can keep billing your insurance. When I attempted to leave, I was told that my wallet was in a safe and the only girl working there did not have access to the safe. When I asked for the medicine, I brought with me and is lawfully mine I was told I would have to come back for my medicine in 48 hours! I could not believe the nerve!
The Director, when she’s there, brings her kids to the detox facility if that’s any indication of how this place is run. At night there is only one recovery coach and one nurse. It was common practice to see one particular recovery coach cuddled up on the couch. I said to her, “You get paid for this? ” she responded, “I know right? ”. Update, I finally got an EOB from my insurance, and guess what? Brandon lied to me and told me the Waxahachie house was in network, in wasn’t. I was lied to. I am now left with a bill of $3,900. How can you take advantage of someone when they are at their lowest? I can’t tell you how I regret going to this place.
