Honestly, wish that I didn’t have to give a star rating because they are that terrible. The water was always shut off for whatever reason, never notified when it was being off or when it would come back on when the air conditioner broke in the summer it was completely ridiculous. It took forever to get somebody to contact back so that it could be a livable space, not notified anything when we were moving out about how much we were going to have to pay in fees as it was asked in an email several times and there was just the runaround given and eventually the email was completely ignored and now they were trying to make my husband pay over $2000 and the office people do not respect any of their tenants or anyone who calls they like to argue and be disrespectful and refuse to service you. Also the rent was raised several times while in a lease, which is against a Texas law section number, 214.902 protecting renters from having their lease raised while in a binding contract.if you were looking into moving here I suggest you go somewhere else unless you want them to pretty much steal your money Be extremely rude and disrespectful and your unit to never have any water or air conditioning.

This place has continuous water issues, with water being shut off all the time. My hot water goes out every couple of days and management will not respond to submitted service requests. There is dog feces everywhere not being picked up. There is trash everywhere not being picked up.

These are the worst apartments shortly after I moved in my ac went out I moved in May 30,2023 my ac went out a week later I sent so many emails calls went to office in person every time they would say they would send maintenance but they always said it was working which it wasn’t I moved out August 2023 and I had 2 units in my living room I couldn’t even sleep in my bedroom because it was hot now they are suing me for almost $4000. They were quick to do that but not fix my ac worst experience ever

Although the staff is very nice and the apartments it self are nice and cheap I’ve lived here for not even a month yet and I have had to shower at my mothers house several times because the water here does not get hot let alone lukewarm it’s upsetting I’m pregnant with twins due in a few weeks and I can’t even take a warm shower in the comfort of my own home. If I ever do get warm water it takes 30 -40mins to get warm and will be warm for a max of 5 minutes I have called staff to see if they’d fix this maintenance was supposed to come and never did. It’s upsetting because I’m worried about my babies and how I will bathe them if the water is always freezing cold. We also have seen roaches and black ants. My home stays clean and we never leave food or trash out for bugs to be a problem.

The trash valet pick-up costs $25 monthly, but it doesn’t pick up daily. The trash is right at the door, attracting flies and emitting nasty smells. With all the other costs, the rent is not worth it to live in this old apartment where everything is broken. The mirror in the bathroom is rusted and the overall condition is bad.

At first glance this seemed like a wonderful place. They had a good move in specials quite often. Which makes it easy and simple to move in. But once you have been hooked and reeled, you realize the price your paying for the apartment, the quality of the apartment and surrounding area around the apartment, you realize that it’s not that great. I can only speak for my experience. And with that being said…here I go: I moved in a few months back and shortly after my ac was broken and they came relatively quickly to fix it and I didn’t have any problems with it u til the summer. Once summer hit I was having trouble with my ac and it took them forever to come and fix it. I made multiple attempts to contact the front office and maintenance and I would be told that they would get someone out to me as soon as possible and all front office would say when I would talk to them, was they would send someone out asap. But when maintenance would come by they would not know how to properly fix it and I would have to continue to wait in a hot apartment (sometimes my house would get up to 94 degrees) I have pictures for proof to show multiple time how high the heat would raise in my apartment. Causing a lot of my food to mold and go to waste. When I expressed this concern to maintenance, they would come look at it because they knew they had to come look at it m, if not they would get in trouble, but nothing would continue to be done, each maintenance man had a different reason/excuse why my ac was going out or to why they couldn’t fix it at the moment. And I was told maybe it was best for me to stay else where until it got fix. I expressed to them I didn’t have family around here to be able to stay at and that put me out of money and time. With all this being said I paid 745 for my rent. And in my opinion that’s poor quality living place, not including the allocated bills that would raise my rent to 900$ and that’s just for a one bedroom. And I feel that anybody who is reading this would understand if it was them or there families they would want the issue resolved in a timely manner. Considering that was the only home I had and being expected to suffer in that heat. I eventually decided that I was not going to pay my rent at a place that wasn’t going to fix my ac which ultimately lead me to not be able to stay there for a month and a half. So they issued me an eviction notice and the same day that they issued my notice they brought an ac to my apartment and they came and fixed the ac. My complaint and problem here is why could that not have been done the multiple times I reached out to them with complete respect and patience, and instead something was done the day they decided to kick me out.

This place doesn’t deserve a star. Appliances are cheap and break easily. When the maintenance is asked to fix the appliances it takes months for anyone to come out if they ever do. Walls are molding making the walls to start to buckle out. The apartments are infested with ants and roaches even when cleaning multiple times a week. The office ladies are useless because they will either cancel your request for pest control/maintenance or just let the request sit there. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Management takes weeks to respond to you (if they ever even do). During the colder months you can expect your water to be turned off at least once every 2 weeks as they attempt repairs that seem to be very temporary fixes. Your money should go to a community more suited to serve its' clientele.

Update 1 week later:

There has still been zero communication from anyone in leadership at District West. On June 20th, they also had to turn the water off.

Love the location of the complex and accessibility to things around town. Staff was very helpful in getting my lease set up and ensuring a smooth transition. Ran into a small issue with an AC, that was promptly taken care of within the hr. Always met by a friendly face in the office.

District West is in a great location right by the Loop. There seem to be a lot of negative reviews for these apartments, but the new management is doing a great job and I have few complaints. Office staff are friendly and the apartments are good. However, there are some water issues (water is shut off about four times a month or so because of leaks, broken pipes that need to be shut off in the courtyard). I still recommend this place and I enjoy living here. Also, rent rates are great for students!

Edit: As of 2023, Management change has been frustrating and communication with the office is terrible

I've been at this apartment for almost a year now and I have nothing negative to say about it, Danielle and staff have been nothing but helpful.

The managers in the office went out of their way to help me get into an apartment and on short notice, i had a problem with a leak when I moved in but they were able to take care of the issue the next day!

DO NOT, AND I REPEAT DO NOT move into these apartments. I have literally been without A/C for a month and once I go to the office they turn it around and make it my fault. I take responsibility for the VERY first time they tried to come and fix it, but I'm not giving a pass for the next 3 weeks that it still wasn't fixed after that though! I should've listened to others when they said don't move here cause they are terrible when it comes to their tenants. I am seeing that firsthand now.

The managers in the office went above and beyond great service to insure that the transition into the apartment was easy. The attention to detail of improvements to the apartment were met with priority and executed very well.
