Doc’s Fish Camp & Grill reviews
14Wonderful Texas charm. My favorite stop. I love the chicken fried steak, and it's still big! For lunch the next day. They didn't go smaller to cut cost. GET THE CHEESE BITES. TAKE THE LEFTOVERS AND ENJOY! WE LEFT THE WAITRESS A HUGE TIP FOR JUST 2 OF US. Love you brother Murphy.
We arrived Friday night at approximately 6: 00 to a half-filled eatery. Everything appeared good; low key crowd; active staff.
We were seated promptly and then the wait began. We couldn't determine who our server was but we guessed the young lady serving the two tables next to us. Granted, the two tables next to us were with difficult / demanding patrons, but our server could have easily acknowledged us.
After 12+ minutes she arrived for beverage orders.
Two waters, two beers, hush puppies, and Brussels sprouts. The water and hush puppies were delivered in under a minute.both were cold (that's a good thing for the water of course!). I am guessing the hush puppies are fried in batch, held until ordered, and there you go.compromised quality.
We continued to watch our server wander aimlessly and unengaged repeated returning to the other two tables with items she had forgotten.including our beers and Brussels sprouts.
When the Brussels sprouts arrived, they were mostly overcooked (burned looking and tasting) and cold.
Still no beer.
Halfway through Brussels sprouts she remembered the beer which was now approaching room temperature.
When the main items arrived, the disappointment continued.
I ordered the soup (gumbo) and salad; my wife ordered the Greek salad with shrimp.
The gumbo was the only highlight and prevented a rating of one star for the food along with the quality salad dressing (1000 island). The salad was forgettable as it was room temperature and out of balance.
My wife's salad looked better but came with the lagniappe of the sauteed shrimp complete with their little feet still attached (and otherwise completely peeled)! Needless to say she did not finish her salad either.
Atmosphere got four stars for the live music being played. We could not see who it was as we were on the other side of the dining area. However, he was quite talented and with a voice combination of Robert Earl Keen and Gordon Lightfoot. A fifth star would have been awarded but was not due to the temperature of the restaurant (very warm).
Doc's has a lot of potential and maybe this was an off night. However, being a guest to Marble Falls I will not be returning to find out otherwise.
Order was wrong three times in a row (burned, frozen, and incorrect) ; waitress was great and live music was fun, but manager was rude.
Shrimp is good. Everything else is okay. I live near the coast so my opinion is a little biased.
My service was slow, When food did come, they brought out a substituted side, and my salad came out last. My steak had no seasoning. Staff did not communicate issues until delivering meal and alternate choices of food not offered. Most likely just the night, but personally, I'm unlikely to return.
Nice Service Personnel and food didn't took to long! If you like all your Food crispy and brown, well that's your Place to go here.it's a big Place with a Bar and TV Screens for all Sport Lovers! Very Rustic Ambient, like a Texans Ranch Style Restaurant with some Music in the Background, but not to loud! Nice for Families or even for Singles to visit!? I am personally not a big friend of everything crispy and cross, that's why I just give 3 Stars and wished for more grilled and slow cooked Options, but that's just my Opinion! Y'all enjoy and have Fun there.
Lobster, onion spinner was very nasty It was just gross it didn't taste the same I've had this meal before Either you hired a new cook but very gross and nasty, We definitely will not be coming back The food was that awful It was so gross that I had to go to the restroom and Throw it up, manager very unprofessional, rude Told my husband whatever When my husband was being nice about it very unprofessional for a manager to be acting like that
The BF had cfs with greens and Mac n cheese AND I had fried catfish & shrimp with greens and garlic potatoes. You can see from the pic we hated it
Enjoyed everything about my dining experience here. Will be back and would recommend to others
The Shrimp were great, live music Thu/Fri/Sat exceeded my expectations. All-around solid meal. Could use a little bit more attention to the cleanliness of the tables/flatware/floor/etc, nobody likes to open up a water soaked menu.
Every time we come there are very few people here. It always takes the server a long time to come over to us despite there are not really any other customers. So it's always very quiet here. One time the server was rude but the last 2 times she was nice and friendly. The food is always great but I would like more for the price.
Dharma was an excellent server! Everyone was working so hard to make this place run smoothly including the general manager. Food was great, employees were all pleasant to talk to and made you feel at home.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Doc's Fish Camp & Grill in Mable Falls, Texas, and I must say, it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The restaurant's charming ambiance and friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease.
First and foremost, our server, Sarah, deserves special recognition. She was nothing short of amazing throughout our entire visit. From the moment we were seated, Sarah greeted us with a warm smile and an eagerness to make our dining experience memorable. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she was more than happy to answer any questions we had about the dishes and offer her recommendations.
The food at Doc's Fish Camp & Grill was absolutely outstanding. As the name suggests, they excel at seafood, and I couldn't resist trying their specialty fish dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, bursting with flavor. The accompanying sides were equally delicious, and the presentation of each dish showcased the chef's attention to detail.
During our mini vacation we stopped in for dinner. It was delicious and the service was great. Food came out fast and warm. Will visit here next time we are in Marble Falls.
