Dodie's Cajun Restaurant at The Harbor, Rockwall TX

We went there for lunch on July 27,2023 around noon. We were given dinner menus. We asked if they had a lunch menu as specified on their website and were given those. Service and food were both good. However, when we got home, we discovered that we were charged the dinner prices instead of the lunch prices! We were bummed out about this! If you dine here during lunch, double check your bill before you leave!

We went here for my Dads bday. Great food, great view and the drinks were amazing. Our waiter was amazing. I believe his name was Julio or Jose. He had glasses and curly hair, he was helpful and a breath of fresh air. Will Definitely be back.

We were in the area and decided to try this place. Looked like they were pretty busy but we were immediately sat outside on the patio. There were a couple of tables around us and they were all getting service. Us on the other hand, we’re not. We work in the industry so we understood that it might take a while to get to a table, but when it’s been 25 min and all the servers and the host are passing you by attending the other tables, that’s not an accident. Sucks to say this but the people sitting next to us were white and they seemed to be getting a better service while we didn’t get any. All that was left to do was to stand up and walk afterwards. It was a ver uncomfortable situation.

On Sunday evening July 9th, me and my fiancé were super excited to try this place out due to being big seafood fans. Everything was going great in the beginning! We were seated in less than five minutes, greeted by our server and got our waters until we were basically forgotten about.

40 minutes had passed and our server never stopped by to take our order. She constantly passed our table and we were unable to reach her due to her walking straight past us each time.

It was shocking for both of us as we were being ignored of our presence. Our server went around hosting other tables literally right behind our booth that happened to be seated after us. We took our service else where and we won’t be returning.

Employees were hanging out w their children climbing over people’s tables. They were all loud and socializing. Our poor waitress was trying so hard to be professional. It was loud and their kids were all over us. Was there even a manager around?

Yesterday me and buddies stopped by to have a quick drink and the male bartender was extremely rude. We ended up leaving to go somewhere else.

Caesar salad drenched in dressing and waitress didn’t seem to notice it care it was left uneaten. Gross

I don’t usually leave reviews… I had 3 coworkers tell me about Dodies being that I am from Louisiana. Well, my mom and grandma came so I took them. The food was horrible! I can only imagine everyone goes for the view n scenery. The staff was great and atmosphere was cool. They don’t have a lot of kid options but that was ok. The red beans n rice was hard n so under cooked, seafood gumbo was spicy but not flavorful with unclean crawfish. I ate the jambalaya bc the flavor was there but the rice was mushy n it was watery. Even the fried okra was to hard for my grandma. The crab cakes were 7.5/10. Crawfish Etouffee taste like cream of celery… the only thing I took home was the boil shrimp so I can add some butter n old bay. I paid $100 for 3 people and left all the food on the table. My mom kept saying we should have just ordered a Po’Boy. I wonder how the reviews are so good. I have to say the drinks are great and our server was great. Coming from Louisiana it’s a disgrace on Cajun food.

We were seated immediately once arriving. Had a perfect old fashioned and my wife had a top shelf margarita. Margarita was very low on tequila so not sure what was up with that. Had the fish tacos that were super tasty and oysters were fantastic with the garlic bread. Service was good. Be ready to drop at least $100 here, not cheap but it's a great date night spot on the harbor! Cheers!

The jalapeño ranch is good. The plating of the food was not that great. The flavors are a little flat, but it's a nice place to gather and the view was beautiful.

On the lake cold inside and excellent service by the amazing Thailynn! Fast attentive and friendly. Hostess very busy so be patient. She does a lot and will grab you a glass of water if need.

Food chef salad lackluster but bountiful chicken was a tender could use a tad more flavor. But it was ceaser salad. Salad itself was giant. Only parm and dressing no croutons which was nice. No crunchy break your teeth pick em out mess!

Perfectly cold inside and ample seating even during the concert.

We were seated right away outside. Our order was taken, And finally, after complaining, are food arrived and hour and 20 minutes later. When I did go inside I could not find our waiter, Another young man asked if he could help me. I explain what's going on and he said he would check. I walked outside and watched as he stood there. Talking to a young lady server. This was at the 1 hour mark, so we waited another 20 minutes. We watched as several other tables that came in after us. Got their food 8 and left. NEVER AGAIN.

Cajun restaurant with no boudain. Blackened chicken had good flavor, but a little tough. Overall this is a great restaurant.

The service was good, the happy hour hurricanes were good, the food left a lot to be desired, ESPECIALLY for a cajun restaurant. We ordered the torpedies, fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, fried catfish, shrimp and grits, the tilapia, the Mahi Mahi, the salmon, and the red fish.

We have been away for almost 2 yrs but when we visit, this is one our favorite spots to go to. We waited to be seated for a few minutes even though there was barley anyone in there. The lady that sat us acted as if she couldnt open her mouth. She was mumbling and we had to keep asking her what she said. She was NOT delightful! We finally sit down and ready to order just be told they do not have oysters or crawfish and will not have anymore this year. They should probably put that on their door because there were people before that left for the same reason.

They are very prejudice and I will never patronize them again. My bill was $253 which they included their gratuity of $38 dollars for 4 people where we had to flag them down for service. Shows how much they checked on us. They charged me $2 for the bread that should have accompanied the oysters. Nevertheless the service was horrible. I’m not “liking” this page because I don’t like them, I just wanted you to know I agreed with your comment. I’m going find a site to rate them as well.

An amazing place for lunch! A lot of options for fish-lovers and the New Orleans vibe of the restaurant is so cool!

Can't reserve and can't add to wait-list ahead of time. They're committed to making you come and wait needlessly. It's rude and quite frankly it's unintelligent. Would not recommend spending money somewhere where the manager is happy to inconvenience you.
