Much like shopping for daycare for your children, you want to make sure your fur babies are going to be happy and well cared for. The staff at Dogtopia of Plano recognized and knew my dogs’ names from day 1. They learnt their personalities and make adjustments to ensure their experience was smooth. My pups get excited when they see we are pulling up to their door. They come home happy and exhausted. Every dog I see come through their door eagerly strains to be brought in. They go above and beyond in planning so many little fun optional activities and treats throughout the month to keep things fun for both pups and their pup parents. It is obvious that the staff love all the dogs that come through and I know that my pups are being genuinely loved and cared for when I am not there. I could not ask for more.

I highly recommend this place. Very welcoming and the staff immediately knew my dog's name.

Agree with other reviewers. Worst customer service and very disorganized. Avoid the frustration and go somewhere else.

Note that most of the positive reviews are from when this location was under previous ownership. I’ve had better service and less paperwork at the DMV or my doctor’s office.

We were a customer for a few years and tried to go back with our two dogs that had many stays there. They require an appointment to test your dog and are very inflexible with regard to all of their rules and policies. 10x more friction and bureaucracy than any other boarding business in town.

It wasn’t the “dog test” or six pages of questions about our dogs again that caused me to walk out. It was the horrible service from the person behind the desk.

Best place for daycare and boarding in the area! My dog has the best time at daycare and loves everyone. One time I travel abroad and has issues with my flights coming back. The staff was AMAZING and they accommodate her a couple of more nights. They genuinely care and connect with you and your dog.

I went to this place based of a recommendation from my dog’s training school. First impression was off. My sixth sense told me not to give them my business but I talked myself out of it. Front-desk employees had very unfriendly attitude. Seemed like I came in wrong time when everyone just wanted to get off work. I brought him in for evaluation anyway. They said he was submissive dog and gave him clear pass. Fast forward two weeks later, they told me he was aggressive and resources guarding. Well thing happened I guess.
I was about to board my dog for a week. I wanted to introduce my friend to them so we are clear of who can pick my dog when I am away. They just told me “We don’t need to meet her. We don’t need her information. You just have to email letting us know who can pick him up. ” Like how can you know who is who? I love and care for my dog to the point that I willing to pay $33 a day and 5 days a week so he can have fun time with other dogs. But ARE YOU GOING TO HAND MY DOG TO ANYONE KNOWING HIS NAME?
They officially lost my business that moment.

We used to bring our dog before they closed and reopened. Called to ask what was needed to bring her again and was told only a temperamental test and updated vaccines (seems they had all her info saved). Got there at the time of our appointment, waited a bit for the lady at front desk to get off the phone just to be told we had no appointment and later were told our appointment was scheduled for Tuesday (when we are both working) so after going back and forth and waiting 15 minutes we were told they cannot take her and we had to wait another 20 minutes! A lot of employees there, nobody seems to know what they are doing or what is happening. Glad I didn’t waste my time here!

For starters the people working here were fantastic! Clearly they love pups and love what they do!
My problem is that I purchased a 10 day pack that I never got to use, not even one day of it.
I purchased the pack shortly after introducing my dog last summer, before we used even 1 day of the package, Dogtopia of Plano closed, do to Covid related issues. I wasn't too worried, I assumed (poor choice on my part) that I would be able to use the package when they reopened in a month or two. When they did finally re-open many months later, unknown to me I couldn't use my package. I took my pup to get reintroduced and when checking out I was informed my package didn't get credited, because it is new ownership, and I owed for that day. After I told them I wasn't aware it didn't roll over, they did give me that day for free, and told me how to request a refund.
I requested the refund from the previous owner, and followed up a few months later when I hadn't heard a word. The current owner explained that he was informed by the previous owner "virtually all outstanding passes and package balances were refunded. "
The Franchisor was informed of my issue and he provided the previous owner's name and number.
I immediately called and Paul, the previous owner, and he did answer and told me he'd get back to me shortly. He never did. I called several more times, my phone number was blocked.
This is POOR, POOR business. If Paul had just told me he ran on hard times because of covid, if that is even what I going on here, I would have been extremely understanding, but instead lying to me that he'd get back to me and blocking my number, just angered me.
I understand business, I understand this is a franchise, but they are using the Dogtopia name, so to me, I feel there should be a bit of accountability. No one offered a monetary credit, no one offered a credit of days, instead I just "donated" $260 to the previous owner, and the current owner and the franchisor washed their hands of the situation.
There are much better nearby options, I recommend you look into those.

My review mainly concerns the management of this particular location. I have been promised a refund to my account for over a month and I still have not received it. I have called 3 different times & each time the staff said they will contact the manager to process the refund. Each time the manager was not there or was too busy to take my call. I have not received the refund nor has the staff or manager ever followed up with me. Extremely poor service & communication. The daycare itself is adequate at best, we feel there was some negligence with our particular dog. She no longer attends.

I was so happy to hear this location would reopen. The new staff here are wonderful. They exceed my high standards for doggie daycare. Even though my guy is not super playful in other settings, he feels comfortable playing with the pups here! Their overnight boarding is also excellent.

What a great place! I have used other boarders before but this place beats them by far. The meet and greet, intake process was very thorough, they really want to get to know you and your dog! Staff was very nice and excellent.

Harrison loves going to Dogtopia.
He runs in circles through the house when I tell him he's "going to Puppy Camp".
They know his personality and he comes home tired from a day of play.
The staff obviously love dogs.

I cannot say enough good things about this place and their staff. They love dogs and are genuinely interested in working with them, even the shyest dog can have a great time and learn something in the process.

Our dogs LOVE this place. The staff is knowledgeable and trustworthy. Always a smile when we walk in, and i can tell, watching on the cameras that our dogs have a fantastic time! We don't have a single worry when they sleepover during boarding. If you need boarding, daycare, or grooming, don't look anywhere else!

The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. I really like that there are different activities throughout the month for dogs to participate in. I also like that there is a nap time and outside time! Best doggy daycare I've seen!

I like that I can watch what my dogs are doing while being able to go on a vacation. They are always keeping it clean and safe for the dogs which is a huge must have for me and my 2 dogs.

We just got our puppy back after 2 weeks of boarding at Dogtopia. They charged a high rate of $45 a night and made our puppy sick and undid his potty training. This may be an ok place for a daycare but I want to caution any owner who has a puppy being potty trained that this place will confuse your puppy. Apparently here it is ok for dogs to poop wherever indoors and the staff just cleans it up. But this is very confusing to your dog but it might be easier on the staff than taking your dog outside to do their business. They also likely did not clean all the poop immediately because 1 day after we picked up our puppy he was very sick and got diagnosed with giardia (highly transmissable through stools). Now we're spending $300 on the vet and meds, in addition to paying Dogtopia around $1 grand! Needless to say we called and followed up but did not get any reassurances. There was also minimal communication when we boarded him here. Bad decision on our part to leave the puppy here, will not happen again.

Cant believe my eyes. I just watched for 15 minutes a huge guy shove 10 dogs into their crates for "rest time" ate 6: 45 pm on 6/11/2021. He was rough and seemed by body language to be in a very bad mood. Wish there was someone else in the room with him to hold him accountable. Very scary. Im horrified that my pup is going to be boarding there for a week and Im flying out tomorrow and I cant do a thing about it. I will be praying for him. Otherwise the front desk has always been good and when my dog is playing they seem to treat him well.
