Dollar General, San Antonio TX

My first time at this location. I arrived first thing this morning to grab some items. Trash on outside of the store is all over the floor. Not very clean. So I go inside store. After picking out my items I went to register. I didn't see anyone so I looked down a few isles and saw an employee on the floor. I said excuse me? Do you know if someone can help me at the register? As He walked up he said there is a bell for you to ring. I said I'm sorry this is my 1st time here, I didn't know. I can tell he was upset. After a customer walked in he greeted her which was nice. I wish he had been more pleasant to me. Not to mention he charged me twice for an item. First time there and I will not be returning to this store or location. Only after scanning my items he said the total. I paid $68 and grabbed my items and left. Maybe it wasn't a good morning for him I don't know. I just didn't like the way he talked to me and his tone.

I saved $13 on my purchase yesterday using the DG App! I almost couldn't believe my eyes! I buy Pampers Easy Ups & they usually cost $9-$10 per package. I always try to find a deal on them since they're a bit pricey. This is the place to buy them! I got 4 packages of them & a small container of Pringles for $25.00! That's roughly $6/package! I used the coupon for the day & saved $5, I used the coupon for $3 off one package of Pampers Training Pants & $5 off $30 or more in Huggies or Pampers diapers or Training Pants.

This particular store has exceptional staff. I can't remember the last DG store where the staff was this friendly and helpful.

They had the couple of things I needed, but the aisles were blocked by people stocking. Several times I had to turn around because I couldn’t get down an aisle. Boxes were on the floor. It was a huge mess and very claustrophobic. They did have workers trying to put stuff away, so they were trying, but it was still pretty crowded.

Staff very rude, unprofessional, and if you need to ask for help, good luck with the attitude. Even the management act like this.will NEVER go back again!

I love a store with its shelves jam packed with merchandise and GREAT specials. My ABSOLUTE favorite Dollar General on this side of town. Hats off to all those who make it happen dispite all the challenges a little store in a demanding area goes through. CHEERS!

Cashier had an attitude, I understand shifts and job can get the best of us, but not everyone deserves the attitude. Convenient location.

I must say this is my favorite dollar store. They have almost everything I usually need. If they carried joint compound they would have it all. Lol. The evening/night employees are my favorite. They are super friendly and they love my puppy which is a plus. They let me run in even within minutes of closing time. Which I love cuz saves me making a Wal-Mart trip. Lol.

Store in terrible shape. Asked the associate for some help, she stated that she was filling in for the manager, it wasn't her store, and she opened the gallery from her phone and showed me pictures of stock.complaint there was a lot of stock to do, but yet many shelves were empty. Found food wrappers opened within store. Seemed like she wasn't having a good day. Walked out empty handed.

The store is really cramped and full of stuff. I found it overwhelming, but others may not. The selection wasn't the greatest, but the employees were nice and helpful.

Never cash back even after noon, can never find the key to the cigarette cabinet and the other tobacco is not fresh (stale products). Everytime lately that I go, whoever is on the register is always on the phone. Excuse me may I have your attention please for a sec while you ring me up. I don't know what's going on with them lately, but Dollar General needs to get it together.

This is my neighborhood Dollar General and I always have such a great time here. The selections and pricing are wonderful. I've had great service from all employees.

Love this place when it comes to immediate needs for my family when it comes to hygiene items or food like bread, milk and eggs.

It's a great place to get cheaper items but.service is slow.it's like going to walmart or Costco.there's 2 registers available but only 1 is ever in use and it's frustrating having to wait to get checked out!

Absolute lack of customer service. The cashier is having to yell for her manager for assistance. The manager comes upfront long enough to answer a question& immediately hobbles to the back, ignoring the line of customers waiting. I'd say she was above checking out customers, yet, the cashier looks more professional (& that she bathes daily) than the manager of this location. Based on work ethic& customer service skills, they need to swap positions.

I love this DG. It is loaded with goodies and most prices of practical items are priced less than the other major grocers. If you have a DG app, you will receive $5 off of a certain amt spent - can't recall the amount however, it is not much, Saturdays only. If you don't have an app and you visit the store during the week, a $5 coupon is included at bottom of your receipt for use on any Saturday, just make sure the coupon on receipt has not expired. The clerks and those who are busy stocking shelves are VERY friendly and professional, especially when you need to find an item.

Place always looks messy and out of place, NO FRIENDLY FACES, cashiers always appear dishelved, tired, and grumpy. I have never seen a Manager on the floor, they are always in their office sitting, not helping the cashiers when the lines get long! Especially on holidays! They always have one cashier working their Hinds off! Need to clean the store, windows, straighten out the items, or get working Managers!

It's so sad they don't pay staff enough you cam see it in the service, parking lot always and I mean always trashy.
There is no kind of structure. Its like they hire staff, give a name tag and say get to work. I guess what do you expect dollar general.

Waited a good three to four minutes until the fifth person in line went to look for a cashier. Line got long really quickly at last check I counted at least twelve people in line. Need more employees at high traffic hours.
