Don Ponchito's Café reviews
14During a time when sanitary conditions should be highly enforced they are not. Decided to stop by this place during lunch and try it out. Ordered a plate of food as did another table. Waitress serves my plate to the guest at the other table to which the guest takes a bite out of the side. Mind you our table arrived before the other table. Waitress realizes she served the wrong plate and takes plate. I am watching everything so I get up to ask what’s going on and what do I see. Waitress then replates the entree from that guests plate to my plate. I’m guessing because the guest never touched the entree only the side. Needless to say our table walked out without eating lunch that day.
As usual, good food and nice staff. Did take a little while to get food, but considering that the place was packed, it was quicker than expected.
The best menudo anywhere in the valley. The owners are super nice. They make your exactly as you want it and the best thing of all is that they have breakfast all day and their prices are fair. Highly recommended!
Best service we had in a while. We came here while visiting my dad. The atmosphere was charming. It was welcoming and loving. The food was served fast and in quantity. We sadly are from Houston but when we come to visit here again we will definitely come here again.
I would've added photos of the rest of my food but it's all gone! This was the first time visiting this restaurant and I was very impressed. Staff is really friendly, service was fantastic, and food was delicious. The building is very spacious and there's plent of space to move about. We informed our waitress this was our first time here and she went on to explain the specials and plates we were interested in. The coffee is very good and the water appears to be purified water. The portions of food were large and each plate comes with two tortillas. Personally, I would've liked three but I know I don't need it. Oh and the flour tortillas are thin and very good. The menudo here is excellent. The three salsa offered were good; I would've liked them spicier but that's just me. I'd rate this place a 4.5 out of 5. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan on visiting real soon.
The buffet is ok but they do take a while to refill certain food items. I usually have to get up and ask for the waitress to refill drinks at the table too. I’m not a picky person but I know this would probably bother some people.
Food was very yummy and the staff was great! Our waitress made sure we were taken care of as well as other waitresses who asked us many times if we needed anything. Prices were reasonable. Two of these dishes with an orange juice and coffee was about $19. Would highly recommend:)
Staff were all very friendly and attentive! Food was delicious! I don't like my eggs runny but decided to try it here, was NOT disappointed the chorizo on top of the eggs made it 10x better! My wife and I are from Houston, TX and I will definitely come back here next time we come down to visit!
Good Mexican food restaurant. Taste and service is great. Some things are a little pricey in my opinion, but overall they're worth a try.
Saturdays are crazy here. Parking lot to small. Food prices are expensive for what they give you. Took forever to recieve our food. Never again.
Food was good the servers are very friendly and attentive to the customer's needs.
Laura, you are great.saw how you took care of the senior citizen.keep it up!
Service is terrible, can't take orders well, dirty cups, can't seem to bring food all together at once.
We love the family Christian oriented restaurant the staff is always friendly their food is delicious I highly recommend this restaurant
This restaurant does not know how to make chilaquiles they think they do but they have no clue and then they charge you an enormous amount of money for nothing
