Donut Taco Palace I, Austin TX

Have been coming here for 20 years, so our kids grew up eating here. Breakfast tacos are good-sized. The red and green salsas are just right. The filled donut holes are like little hugs for your mouth.

Used to go here all the time when I worked in town & loved it! Went recently on a early Sat morning & they're still rocking it! Long line but the wait wasn't that bad. Surprised that the costs were still very reasonable! My favorite Sauage Egg & Cheese Biscuit is still there & better than ever - the large homemade scratch biscuit is the best part!

Disappointing. Donuts were more tough than light and airy—maybe stale at 8 am. They lacked the flavor of a good slow fermented dough. The pink glazed one was just sugar with no strawberry flavor. The tacos were nothing special. They didn’t warm the sausage and cheese kolache, which was just congealed and gross. I really don’t understand why the place was so crowded.

If you're awake early enough.they have the best ever cream filled donut holes! (Didn't know there was such a thing) They're like little tiny eclaires. The only bad thing is that if you order 2 dozen to share, you'll eat almost 2 dozen by yourself. I'll be back.

Simply the best breakfast tacos in the city. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall joint that I stumbled in one morning not expecting much and was blown away. I’ve been coming here weekly ever since.

Donuts are pretty great, tacos are lacking and over priced for what you get. The bacon egg and cheese was too greasy and had a bad taste, the bean and cheese are a joke for the price too small of a portion. Crossaints arrived cold and needed to be reheated and the eggs had the same bad taste as the tacos.

This is my go to for breakfast tacos in the morning. They have every combination you could imagine, I love their salsa (you can purchase cans to take home if you want), and I find them to be way more filling than most other breakfast tacos. Donut Taco Palace is one of the few spots open early morning (5am), so as an early riser I love that I can always count on them. They have an excellent selection of pastries as well.

Do not use the too good to go app if you’re going to cancel the order when i arrive after i drove 20 minutes to pick up the donuts.

When a restaurant does not advertise their prices on their in-store menu, that is always a red flag for me. I ended up paying $16+ for two kolaches, 3 donuts, and a canned coffee. I usually go to donut shops for a cheap breakfast, but this was not the case.

I understand that in this economy, restaurants are having to raise prices - they just need to be transparent about it. We, too, are tightening our belts.

This place has servicable donuts and kolaches; didn't try the tacos. I could have gotten a real breakfast at this price.

First time eating here.made to order two breakfast tacos that were good. No frills place that focuses on donuts and kolaches but has breakfast tacos too. Fast also. Ill come back next time Im nearby.

Good donuts, takes me back to when I was young and my dad would take me to get donuts. Just brings back a nostalgic feeling when I eat them.

Just moved to Austin and live not far, I did an order here last week it's so good I've ordered two more times in a week. Their breakfast tacos are some of the best I've ever had, they are filled fat too, not skimpy. Good quality bacon and the salsa is delicious. I also get their donuts which are great, apple fritter is my favorite so far. It's not pricey either they have awesome prices. Definitely recommend this place.

I had seen this place many of times before but with a title like Donut Taco Palace I wasn't too compelled to go in that was a mistake! They do sell tacos and they do sell Donuts as well as a variety of other things like kolaches and a pepperoni croissant I mean the menu is varied and honestly everything I tried was delicious they were not overpriced the staff was friendly although a little crowded the patrons were happy to be in the mere presence of jelly filled donut holes it's a small out of the way place if you have the time stop by you won't be disappointed and trust me I don't give him any five star reviews Donut Taco Palace you earned it

15 minutes before close (yes i realize its 15 minutes before close.) They will not serve. But theyre still open. But they will not serve. Huh?

This is by far our family’s favorite breakfast place, with so many varieties of donuts and breakfast tacos. The custard filled donut holes are dangerous, you can’t just eat a few.

Donuts were pretty tasty. They have some fun hand shaped glazed donuts they have a variety of food for everyone and offer breakfast tacos and kolaches but we didn’t try those

Haven't bout Donuts in a long time was a little shocked at a Dozen and a half each of plain glazed and cake Donuts spent $45 wow

Great little place, donuts are good, tacos and sandwiches are okay, kolaches are the best except they don't have a lot of variety. Have an idea what you want ahead of time because you will get rushed at the counter, they are always packed.

I love the Shinyribs song about this place. Since it was my first time in Austin area we couldn’t NOT come here! The staff was super kind, they move people through their morning rush super fast. The donuts were SO GOOD. I wanted to try all of them. The breakfast tacos and their homemade salsa were the perfect pair with our donuts! Thanks Donut Taco Palace! We loved our visit! I’d give you 6 stars if I could.
