Dr. Avais Chatha, MD, FACG, Shenandoah TX

I’ve been seeing Dr. Chatha for 6 years. His patience’s, care and wonderful staff has made it impossible not to follow him to this new office.

Dr. Chatha is very personable, thorough and takes his time with you, making sure you understand everything. I love that he is always looking for natural alternatives that can be implemented if possible. I am so happy to have him as my Dr!

Dr Chatha is an excellent doctor and he truly cares about his patients! His office staff does a great job, as well! They’re always so kind and really helpful with everything! Definitely recommend!

Sorry for the delay. This happened 5-6 yrs ago. My wife had her routine colonoscopy done here before by the head doctor. When Dr Chatha did hers the second time, the post op nurse mentioned that things did not go very well. We did not ask for a detail, but left after post op. Later that night, my wife ended up in the ER for stomach pains. They found bruised liver and other internal bruises as well as blood in her stool. After being released the following morning I took her home with pain lasting for several days. We met with the head doctor and were given excuses for her pain. We ended up having to pay a $750 ER bill and suddenly the medical records were changed. Turns out that the ER doctor was related to our doctor.
It turned out that Dr Chatha used equipment that was too large for the colonoscopy. This was mumbled to us during pre op. The procedure should have been stopped when he was having trouble using the right instruments.

Amazing! We came in for my husband choking and the Dr already knew what might be causing it. They took him back and within 20 minutes they had me back with him and he was doing great. The doctor was very personable, very fast, efficient and very accurate. We will continue seeing him for my husbands GI issues. Cannot recommend enough. Hubby says 6 stars!

I had my first visit today with Dr. Chatha and was moved to hysterical tears. I have Chron’s disease and have been struggling with this for a long time, used for clinical trials, and have come too far in this disease and too close to things turning bad. Have had doctors not make me feel important or like my health mattered, but just using me as a Guinea pig or for money. Dr. Chatha cares like I have never experienced before and we haven’t even started treatment yet. He said, “He does what he does out of love”, and that moved me! I felt such a relief, a huge weight was lifted today that I finally found a doctor who genuinely cares about my health and truly wants to help me. He put me in my place, and showed his true compassion and dedication to his patients and it absolutely amazed me. His staff is also precious and just as caring and genuine as he is. I am so unbelievably blessed and thankful to have finally found an answered prayer in Dr. Chatha and his team!

Dr. Chatha is amazing. He’s very patient, attentive, and caring. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good GI doctor for sure. Thank you for helping me feel better!

I was very nervous about my procedure I was going to have to have. Dr Chatha came in the room with the most amazing bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. I absolutely recommend him! His confidence about his work is also amazing. The day of my procedure he came in the room ready to go with a huge smile. He let me know not to worry. He followed up with me the next day to make sure i was feeling ok. Hands down he is the best Dr I have ever had!

Horrible customer service. The lady in the front desk is so rude and she is not willing to help you in any way. We were not able to schedule an appointment because they kept asking for different requirements and it was just taking weeks to see Dr Chatha even when we explained that it was an emergency to talk to an specialist. After having so much trouble for weeks trying to get an appointment, we asked to talk to a manager in order to solve this situation, long story short, the Office Manager (I believe her name was Allison) was not willing to help and was making excuses for her very incompetent staff. She was again asking us for more requirements after we already did everything that was asked for. We did not get the chance to talk to Dr Chatha so maybe he is a good doctor but this office should consider hiring new office employees, 0 stars out of 5.

My mom has seen Dr. Chatha (Mrs. Brenda Green) for a while. Dr. Chatha is very transparent and answers any questions or concerns you have before or after a procedure.

Dr. Chatha and his staff are absolutely amazing! From appointment to followup, they are on top of everything as well as being attentive and compassionate about your health. He and his team did an impeccable job on performing a surgery that I needed for quite some time. The staff has remained in contact and followed up throughout the year to ensure my health is perfect. Thank you again for all the help Dr. Chatha and team!

My father was hospitalized at the hospital and we met Dr. Chatha. I was very pleased by the level of patient care he gave my father. He was always open to questions and was very understanding. He answered all of our questions and concerns throughly. He gave us the peace of mind that we have been looking for desperately. After seeing so many gastro doctors we are happy we finally found the right one. Will definitely recommend him as your gastro doctor!

Unprofessional and rude! Made an appt. Showed up and receptionist was so rude - they cancelled my appointment and didn’t tell me. No apologies no offer to reschedule just we don’t work on Fridays anymore. Find another doctor.
