Dr Frank L King Sr Park reviews
2Small, quite, and nice park for families. There's a play area for kids, ball fields, walking path, dogs must be on leash, plenty of parking.
Lots of people use the park. Families, kids like mine always there with other kids and parents playing on the playground which is modern in pretty decent shape. Woodchip ground cover in playground area, modern and metal built with plastic slides (that won't totally burn your rear end off likeost of ours at that age. Pretty safe for kids 4 to 5 and up. Swings are all OLD and in need of repair/replacement. Lots of benches, picnic tables, walking track, covered patios/pavilions for large family/friend groups and built in grills (seen whe family reunions out there). Decent bathroom facilities, waste cans, tree cover. Grass is tended well. Park is next to some little league/t-ball baseball fields. It's dog friendly as well. There is actually a dog park a block or two over behind the Cash Saver in Wake Village/Nash but dogs are here all the time. No skateboards/Bikes/Roller Blading allowed. Lot of friendly folks of all backgrounds use the park and I've never seen any "trouble" out of anyone (kid wise, acting like punks - older "kids") if you know what I mean. It's a safe place to bring your family and the town in general is just a nice quiet place for the most part. We live just down the road in Nash and come out occasionally. Again, great place but my only complaint is the swings. I'm sure they're on the "To Do" lost from the city at some point but they still get use so if it ain't totally broke they ain't going to fix it.
