Cannot comment on how good Dr. Hughes is, but I can tell you that his office needs to train on customer service. They can start by answering the phones and working with people on cancelling appointments.

We have used Dr Hughes on more than one ocasion for my whole family and LOVE him! He gave sound, caring advice when dealing with my 5 year old daughter who had warts on her hand that she was worried about. I like him so much I went back to have some spots/moles checked out. He really cares about the comfort level of his patients and I really really liked him! Will be using him for all of our dermotology needs in the future!

If I could give him 0 stars, I would.
This was the worst dermatologist I have ever been to.
I have severe cystic acne and I went to his office seeking help. First off, when I called, I had to speak to a male receptionist that literally spoke as if he could not give two SH*TS about me or why I was making an appointment.
Second, when I finally got to my scheduled appointment (which i arrived at 20 minutes early) I had to wait 30 minutes past my SCHEDULED time. While I was waiting to be seen, a woman, who I assume worked there, entered into the back office area behind the glass sliding window dressed in jeans and a tshirt to make a call to someone. Whoever she was talking to (I think it was an insurance provider or another doctors office) she was practically yelling so that the whole waiting room could hear her spitting insults to the person on the other end of the line.
But that's not all that is wrong with this dermatologist.
When my name was finally called, I was escorted to my room where a woman (nurse or something) asked me questions of my medical history. She was also dressed extremely innaproriately with extravagant gaudy jewelry and a jean jacket. Shouldn't she have been wearing scubs? She was polite, but also didn't really seem to care to much. When I asked her if the doctor ever did corticosteroid shots for cystic acne, she looked at me like I was insane and told me that type of fix for acne didn't exist. Which is bullsh*t, because I went to another dermatologist a week later who did them for me.
After she left the room, I waited another 15-20 minutes before I heard dr. Hughes voice outside the door saying, "Let me take care of this acne case really fast and I'll be right there. "
So before he even saw my face, he had already dismissed me as a standard vain woman with a few pimples, which was NOT what I needed.
After hearing that, I was already put-off, but decided to hear what course of treatment he had in mind.
He was in the room with me for what couldn't have been more than 90 seconds. NOT EXAGGERATING. He was backing out the door while I was still asking questions about the medications he prescribed. He gave me short answers and didn't seem to even hear what I was saying.
During his brief visit with me, he also greatly insulted me. When I told him I wanted to have a clear face, he agreed and used his hand to gesture at my whole face and state, "yeah we need to fix THIS. "
In summary, this was the worst doctor visit I have ever had. I have never seen a doctor that literally gave so little attention to his patient. I can only assume from his demeanor and the crowd in the waiting room that he primarily deals with Medicare or Medicaid recipients, which I am not.
If you want to wait a long time to be seen, have treatment prescribed that doesn't work, and be insulted, you should go here. Otherwise go see Dr. Anthony Perri (which is the dermatologist that actually helped my cystic acne!)

I have been seeing Dr. Hughes over the last 25 years. He and his staff are attentive, knowledgable and thorough. He does not over-treat, nor does he ignore possible problem areas. There is a wait, sometimes, but that is occassionally expected and has been reasonable. They are good about fitting you in for an urgent visit, and work with you on insurance matters.

I've been seeing Dr. Hughes for 3 years. I have "zero" complaints. He now sees my 2 year old son.

Been seeing Doctor Hughes for about 8 years on and off and he does really care about his people. He always went above and beyond my expectations. I have psoriasis and have had it most of my adult life. On one occasion I had a flare up and got an infection in my leg went to er and they looked at my infection gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way.the following Monday could not hardly walk so made appt with Dr. Hughes he seen me right away looked at my leg told me I needed to go to the hospital right away that I my lose my foot if I dont. So he called ahead before I got to the hospital and was dreading waiting at er but went to counter and told them my issue and they asked my name and then said your doctor call ahead and he got me right in. Turned out I had a staf infection and was in the hospital for a week. So I thank Dr Hughes to this day if not for him I would not have a foot today. That's the biggest issue he ever helped me on but there are countless others times he has help me and my entire family out.

I cannot tell you if Dr. Hughes is a good doctor. They do not have anyone to answer the phone. I've been trying to make an appointment and also make sure he takes my insurance, but apparently, they do not have a receptionist. Just goes straight to voice mail. They have online scheduling, which is great if you don't have a question, but I need to speak to an actual person first.
