Highly recommend if you have vintage audio equipment that you need serviced or repaired. The service turnaround is typically quick, but if Jay had other projects in queue he has communicated that and given a conservative completion date based on that queue (personally, he's always finished prior to the given estimated completion date, but never passed it). Also, he gives a free estimate/diagnosis prior to performing any work to ensure you are comfortable with price/diagnosis, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of care. I've brought 70's & 80's cassette decks, turntables, cd players, and receivers, and I've never had a bad experience. If you're looking for quality service from someone who's knowledgeable and has decades of experience, look no further.

Went to have my vintage audio repaired.
Had the unit ready in a few days. So far, there are no issues, and he includes a warranty for services rendered. So long as he is in business, I will be going back to this shop for any vintage audio work.

Let me start this positive review with an observation: Very few people know how to repair vintage stereo equipment, and I suspect that the number decreases every day. So thank God for guys like Jay. He's been repairing this kind of equipment for more than 40 years. And it shows.

In the last couple of months, I've brought him two non-functioning vintage pieces: a mid-80s cassette deck and a mid-70s open-reel tape deck. Each time, Jay got back to me within days telling me EXACTLY how much the repair would cost. I gave him the green light to proceed, and both times he got the job done quickly. Both times, the price Jay quoted was less than I expected, and the job was done more quickly than I expected.

And the repairs are excellent. Let me tell you, bringing a non-functioning, 46-year-old open-reel recorder back to life is no small feat. Not only did Jay do the job, he detailed for me what he did, why he did it, and how to keep the unit running for years to come.

And on top of all that, he's just a nice guy and fun to talk to. Easiest transaction ever. Highly recommended.
