Dr Santarosa assisted my spine surgeon getting down to the spine and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! Her incision was through my belly button and is completely invisible! I was not expecting such a cosmetic result! Her bedside manner is second to none. She really took the time to explain everything about her part and I felt very comfortable in her hands. Would absolutely recommend!

Dr. Santarosa recently rendered care for me and I must say that even though I had to have surgery, it wasn't that bad! My gallbladder was infected, she promptly saw me in the ER, and recommended that I have the gallbladder removed.

I feel so much better. I am so glad that she was able to help me. She is awesome and I recommend her to everyone.

Dr Santarosa is an excellent doctor. She assisted the primary doctor during my wife’s back surgery. Just be sure to verify that she is in network with her office concerning your insurance, because we had an issue with out of network billing which has been resolved.

Dr. Santarosa and her assistant were very nice and warm when I met them the morning of my surgery. They both explained the procedure to me and their rolls. I honestly was not expecting it to be as in depth as it was, but I was glad that they took the time to go over all of the information with me. As with any surgery, there is always a lot of paperwork, and I was happy to sign it. The surgery went off without a hitch, and my recovery has been as expected. With the type of procedure that I had, I worried about my incision and how large it would be. Fortunately, with Dr. Santarosa's expertise, for a 1 level ALIF, I was able to have a scar approximately 4cm in length. This is fantastic, as I have worked very hard to maintain a certain physique. I am very happy with the services that they provided me, and I would highly recommend her to be the surgeon for any of my friends or family.

I was so nervous going in but Dr. Santarosa was such a calming presence. She explained everything and after I understood how much experience she has, I was confident it would go well and it did. Her office was clean and the front office staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.

Dr. Santarosa was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. She explained the procedure in detail and let me know what to expect after surgery. She was always available for questions after I left the hospital. My scar was minimal and my pain very manageable. I have had several prior surgeries with surgeons that were not nearly as nice or good. Highly recommended.

I am writing this review to let everybody know what is being done. A specific surgical assistant (Collaborative First Assisting LLC) is needed by Dr Santarosa that is not covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield. So they get you to sign this assistant's paperwork so you are forced to pay. They knowing do this because they do not have pre-approve for over $16,000.00 but will settle $300.00. But they try to get BCBS to pay the full amount. Then when I question this bill. I was sent a form that had my information that I do not remember singing them and, was witnessed by the same assistant the bill is from. It was one of that seam like hundreds documents. I also got a letter from them and I don't think they remember either for the simple fact they do not know my sex.

My wife had spinal surgury in mid November. Dr Santarosa was the surgeon that assisted. There has been major complications with pain ever since then. The spinal surgeon and his nurse followed up and found nothing wrong with the spine. We was to consult with Santarose for issues that came up. There has been numerous attemps to contact her but no response from her until about Jan 24th.one day after we contacted an attorney. We did finally get a vist with doctors in her office. On the 29th. A cat scan was ordered and they feel it is just a hernia. Just got bach from another ER visit, for the same issue, and they see no hernia. Another surgeon is to take a look at it and work on fixing it to end the issue. This could have been taken care of months ago if Dr Santarosa would only return a call and do a follow up on the complaint.
The problem will get solved but if we find there wad any reason that Dr. Santarosa did anything wrong or if her failure to follow up caused issues, then our attorney will handle it.

I am so happy that I chose Dr. Santarosa for my husband's bilateral inguinal hernia repair. Thorough, kind and very good at what she did, he has been super happy and pain free. He was back to work after 2 short weeks. Thank you Dr. Santarosa!

She is really a great doctor. I had a really large hernia in a bad location and was turned away two other surgeons. She agreed to take my case knowing it was high risk. We had a really thorough discussion about how it would be done and the risks involved. I really felt like she took the time to make sure I was well informed. The surgery went great! It was done robotically which was another plus. I look and feel better than ever. Her fornt office staff is curteous and accomodating as well. Highly recommend!

Dr. Santarosa repaired my hernia. The relief from the constant pain was a blessing. I expected a lot of pain after the surgery, but Dr. Santarosa suggested a repair with a surgical robot, and my recovery was great. She talked me through the process and the results were exactly as she stated. Small incision and quick recovery. If you have to be cut on, this was a good experience!

I have mixed feelings about Dr. Santarosa. As a surgeon, she seems to be talented and I had no complications with my gall bladder removal. However, I did have a couple of concerns outside the surgery itself.
First of all, she never offered me the option of having my gallstones tested to see what they were composed of (fats, calcuim, etc) to help me know what my body was having trouble digesting so I could adjust my diet accordingly. In fact, she said I shouldn't expect any dietary changes at all (which, in practice, isn't completely true when your gall bladder is removed). The dietary adivce her assistant gave me was totally different that what she said herself, which is odd.
After the surgery, I didn't have an office follow-up visit for a month due to her office rescheduling more than once. When I finally went for the follow-up, I arrived on time and waited for 1 1/2 hrs without being seen before I gave up and just walked out.
So, as a surgeon, she's fine. But as far as patient care and respect is concerned, I wasn't impressed at all. I've heard the saying that for a surgeon "to cut is to heal" - in my experience, Dr. Santarosa seems to be the epitome of this sentiment.

Had a wonderful experience with Dr Santarosa! She cane highly recommended from my PCP and friends. After several other doctors turned me down, she agreed to take me on! I had a large complex hernia and am a bit overweight to complicate things. After several office visits to really discuss my options, we finally decided on surgery even though I was a bit high risk. She really took the time to go over everything thoroughly. The surgery itself went great! At a week, I was feeling much better than I thought I would! Follow up was great too! She is definitely my surgeon for life!

Dr. Santarosa is the best surgeon I have ever had in my 25+ surgeries through my lifetime. Ashley, her scheduler and office coordinator, helped me to get my surgery approval in 48 hours. Dr Santarosa is so compassionate, caring, and truly a nice person. She explained everything to me and I will never go to another Surgeon for the rest of my life. My surgery went very well and she gave me adequate pain medication for the first 2-3 days after surgery. There are not enough words to describe what an EXCELLENT DOCTOR Dr. Santarosa is. SHE IS THE BEST SURGEON IN DALLAS!
I am grateful to God that he led me to her.
Thank you Dr. Santarosa for who you are as a person as well as a surgeon!
Sincerely, Joan Greene
For some reason my review only gave her 4 stars. She deserves 1000 so I don't know how that happened. JG
