First of all, I’m not one to leave a review about anything. So I’m leaving this review with my whole heart. This man changed my life. I was injured and down for almost a year to where I was pretty much bed ridden (due to insurance, of course.). When I had finally went through all the steps that my insurance had required, I was able to work with this man. He didn’t beat around the bush and was straight to the point. The day of my surgery, I was walking around the Med-Surg floor better than I was for a long time. I shouldn’t have but, I felt that much better instantly. And still do. I had a 360 spinal to my L4/L5 over 2 years ago and am still able to work. I know it doesn’t work for everyone but, it has for me, tremendously. I can’t thank this man enough.

He performed a tri-level lumbar fusion on me in May 2022. I was informed 2 days before the surgery that an out of network access surgeon would be used in the process. I was going to cancel, but They told me it would cost me an extra $500. I received a bill from the access surgeon for $5939. I didn't see Dr Carll before and after surgery. He was not present for my 2 week follow up and when I developed several post-op problems, they just referred me to other people. I'm still having severe back pain requiring opioids for the pain and I don't feel any better now. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. He is greedy and an excellent example of poor health care. After posting this review I was contacted by Dr Carlls office and was given the number for the access surgeon Dr Dennis Robison. I called them last week and have yet to receive a reply. Dr Carlls office manager told me that she has reached out to him several times with no success. It appears that I will have to pay to get the open wound repaired by myself and that is unacceptable. They told me that the girl who was responsible for informing patients of their responsibility was fired. He also gave me a note to return to work 2 weeks after surgery without him seeing me.

I saw a new doctor today who said that the surgery was unnecessary and failed.

And my open belly wound is still not closed and causing nodules to grow which I have paid $1000 to remove, but they keep coming back.

I don’t even know where to begin. After 23 years of severe back pain and 7 years in Pain management Dr Carll and his office staff have given me a new beginning! I am 6 weeks postop for a spinal fusion and laminectomy L2-S1. I have a history of blood clots and he went above and beyond getting me safely taken care of teaming up with a vascular surgeon and other surgeons to make sure I was as safe as could be during this 2 part surgery. Libby his nurse was on top of all my visits, phone calls, questions and answers. If I didn’t check in with her she was checking on me! Melissa worked so hard to get my insurance to authorize as an in-patient due to my medical history and my safety. Dr Carll and Trish followed up with me in the hospital and at my post op’s with such positive reinforcement. They all made sure I had home care and therapy the day after I came home and in physical therapy right after. I am feeling so many different feelings at this point. I have a positive future, my nerves and muscles are experiencing sensations again! 6 weeks and I know I have more healing to do but I am 100% happy with the decision to have this major surgery. Also my scars are beautiful! Everyone including other drs and therapists say they are as perfect as a scar could be! I want to thank you all! Best communication from his staff. Libby, Trish and Melissa and front office staff THANK YOU!

Dr. Carll and his surgery team are excellent. I had a cervical fusion 2 years ago by Dr. Carll and he assured me it was going to be ok. He was definitely right. They really know what they are doing. An amazing doctor with and amazing team. I would highly recommend them to everyone with back and neck issues. Thank you Dr. Carll. You're the best.

I scheduled an appointment as a follow-up to an injury and being in pain. I wasn’t examined or treated to confirm there was no pain. I didn’t see the doctor which is who I scheduled with. I definitely won’t be back. Paid $100 for nothing. Why order X-rays if you’re not even going to examine me. We all know they don’t tell you anything. Just a complete waste of my time and money.

I went to Dr Kendall Carll back in 2017 for some lower back pain and discovered I had a pinched nerve and a broken vertebrae. We discussed options and back surgery was recommended. Dr. Carll performed a full 360, which required opening me up in both the front and back and greatly extended the recovery time and my ability to feel relief. I was released.from the hospital after 3 days and was ensured by Dr Carll everything looked good. A few days after that I had experienced horrible abdominal pain and went to the ER and was told I was not closed up correctly after surgery and was bleeding internally. This required me to then stay with Lin an inpatient rehabilitation facility for 2 weeks more. After a year of recovery I returned to work it at full capacity but with restrictions added to my job duties as a cashier. Very quickly the minor pain I was having turned serious and I felt worse than before. I also couldn’t retain my balance and and every position brought me to tears. Since Dr Kendall Carll did my first back surgery I trusted him. He did another 360 because he said the first set of hardware failed in places and was also pinching a nerve bundle.after surgery I was released to go home but felt sick tans it was thought to be a reaction from meds. A day after my release I became very I’ll, went back to the ER and they informed me I had contracted MRSA and it was already completely infected in my blood system. They discovered that I had been exposed by contaminated hardware Dr Carll put into me and now had an extensive six week antibiotic regimen which required an implanted pick line and every 8 hours I had to flush a mixture of antibiotics and saline into me and that took another 45 minutes. I wasn’t having any relief in my pain levels and my mobility had become almost zero. I then went to another doctor and he discovered Dr Carll had now tightened this last bit of hardware too tight and over nerve bundles and any attempts to loosen that could result in paralysis. To this very day my balance is way off to my left side and still having nerve pain to lower right back side. He squeezed my pinched nerve towards my spinal cord put new hardware (which I found out I didn’t need) my right leg I have to pick it up to put my pants on and off and to bathe I have to pick up my leg to get in and out. I can never get my health back to where It was before Dr Kendall Carll messed up my back so so back and he will not take responsibility for leaving me with pain and now I also have to lift my right leg to get dressed, bathe, sane when getting undressed I have to lift my right leg up, getting in any vehicle I have to lift my right leg up to get in and out. I lost my job which I loved doing. I always thought becoming a doctor of any kind was to help people/patients. Instead this dr only does it for profit. Do your research folks. Please.
