Do yourself a favor and find another liver doctor.
First visit: My elderly father and I waited more than 2 hours at his crowded office during the initial visit.
Totally unacceptable and lack of respect for his patients.
Second visit: a video conference: - He was a no show after an hour. Got a quick phone call from him after saying he had a issue with the software.

Each visit from him was no more than 3 minutes. It’s obvious he consistently running behind schedule.
Office staff: Over worked and impatient. I was told one of the staff that the doctor is busy. I explained to her that’s why we made an appointment with the doctor and not just a walk in.
They also “forgot” to schedule our MRI at Methodist.
It’s a total failure of an operation.
I would not recommend or come back to this place if my life was depending on it.

I visited this office initially n April 19th. I had 2 tests (with significant co-pays) and was advised that I would be called by the doctor within a week with results.well, that didn't happen! I had a follow-up visit on May 6th (Thurs) - where I had to remind the doctor that I never heard from him re: results. Based on results, I was told I needed further testing - which would be scheduled as I checked out. Well, the clerk claimed to be very busy and assured me that she would schedule the procedure and someone would call and give me the date, time, and location. I was given an orange sheet of paper to confirm with the scheduling office if I wasn't called by then. You guessed it, I wasn't called and the scheduling office said no one from the Dr's office scheduled anything. The clerk at the scheduling office was exceptional! Numerous calls to the Dr's office to follow-up yields nothing but an answering machine - with no returned calls. This, today, it is My 27th, and the test that I reportedly need so badly has yet to be scheduled. I am beyond frustrated with this dismissive staff who seem to have zero regard for patients. So, today, I have reached out to my insurance company to advocate on my behalf - as they obviously are not concerned about me nor my liver issues. The first thing the Aetna rep told me was to be patient - as they sent her straight to voice mail. It may best that I pick another specialist, but I realize that I may end up paying those hefty copays (several hundred) to start this whole process again. As far as I am concerned now, they are the worst! Choose another specialist if you really want care that is consistent and responsive.

I didn't feel like Dr. Ankoma-Sey acknowledged and cared for my situation. Very brief discussion-maybe not even 5 minutes-before I felt like he wanted to leave and see other patients.

Insurance said he filed the paperwork insufficiently, so I had to make several phone calls to basically do the work for him.

Beware of improper diagnosis requiring a surgical procedure that is not warranted. I was told I needed a biopsy of my liver. He kept pressing me. He also told me that I needed this biopsy soon before I would need a liver transplant. This scare tactic is unprofessional and should never be used on a patient. GET a SECOND OPINION. Second opinion started that there is no reason for a biopsy when my numbers were minimal.

My ultra sound result diagnosis read: Coarsened echotexture mildly contoured nodule, consistent with Cirrhosis. I worried for days that I had Cirrhosis. The NP Scott Zela tells me. Radiology sees so many people with Cirrhosis that they put that diagnosis on everyone's diagnosis? It cost me $70 to come in and be told that Radiology falsified my diagnosis and I was worried to death? In the beginning they did all these tests and falsified my diagnosis (NP Zela said) so that my insurance company would pay for all the tests. Stop playing with people's Health and lives. Those falsification's are out and out FRAUD! NEVER AGAIN! I have proof on my ultra sound diagnoses! FRAUD! Why say I have Cirrhosis when I dont? Very unprofessional.

Made multiple appointments that never properly got put in the system or noted. Since it is a two hour drive for me I regularly call in before hand to make sure everything is set. Thank goodness I do this because the same woman each time “made” my appointment but never really did. There is another woman who I rarely get on the phone who does amazing and repairs the issue as best as possible seeing as once the mistake was caught my original days would be packed up and no longer available. The same woman has a distinct voice and regularly hangs up on me. Many times Its oh okay hang on and I could hear her playing around then the phone gets slammed down and we get disconnected. This is a big issue as I have been trying for test results and appointments and cant do anything without getting hung up on 100000 times before I luckily get the nicer woman. I have requested documents for an upcoming appointment elsewhere. They were supposed to be here long ago and havent arrived. I dread having to call again and deal with hundreds of “dropped calls” if this is a mistake then I highly recommend a new form of training for staff. I wanted to reach out to leave a voicemail as I dont have time to call tomorrow during open hours but have figured out that leaving voicemail isnt an option.

The doctors are great.the team and the MDs, i have no qualms with them. They are treating their patients with respect.

On the other hand.i have a lot of bad things to say about the RECEPTIONIST. She is rude and impolite.whatever your name is.you bring the good name of the doctors who are paying you to do your job. AND YOU ARE NOT DOING YOUR JOB PROPERLY.if you are tired of you are doing then I suggest you quit, and give your position to somebody who is more deserving than you. I CAN FEEL FROM THE WAY YOU TALK THAT YOU ARE TIRED SO PLS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.
