Dragon's Lair Comics and Fantasy reviews
23Awesome interior with loads of minis, paints, books, etc for your nerd pleasure. Loved the atmosphere
I’m usually only here on Wednesday’s for Infinity Night, but it’s always packed to the brim with X-Wing and DnD and Magic players. If you’re trying to find a building full of people who are likeminded and friendly, look no further.
This place is great if you want to play a game or buy accessories. However if you are actually looking to buy cards (especially Pokemon) you are much better off going down the street to Cy-Tex. They only let you buy a maximum of 4 booster packs here with zero options to buy a booster box.
Additionally their selection and availability of cards is pretty terrible. It's a shame because the place is nice and the staff is friendly.
EDIT: In response to the reply i've been to your store multiple times over the last few months and you've barely had anything each time. Once there was half a box of opened Battle Styles only. It's pathetic in comparison to what Cy-Tex has available daily. People are in and out of there constantly as well buying Pokemon cards yet they always have adequate stock.
You can choose to ignore customer feedback all you want. It isn't going to fix your issue of a glaring stocking problem. My review is to help other people not waste time like I did when bringing my family in to spend $300+ dollars.
I love this shop, I could find plenty of D&D miniatures that I was looking for. But they have plenty of other cool games and comics. They really have a lot of material for miniature painting including base material (herbs, gravel.), so far didn't find better place in Houston area for miniature painting.
Dragon's lair has a welcoming atmosphere, good selection, two adorable shop cats, and excellent customer service.meagan was especially friendly and helpful at checkout, offering recommendations and informing us of coming events.would definitely recommend!
Great place, great atmosphere. Frequently has new stock whenever I drop by, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A great place to go for your gaming needs.
Decent selection of comics, however the TCG Singles selection is small even for a comic store. The employees have serious attitude problems (that arrogance that, ill admit, most kids their age have)
All in all not a fun experience and frankly not a store that sells TCG Singles regardless of what is marketed.
My suggestions: fire the 18 or 19 year old red head kid with the serious attitude, sell pokemon and magic singles or don't market them, and frankly train your staff on how to better understand what they are talking about.
If you wanna play magic it’s a big enough store but they make you wear mask when other stores don’t. They play groups here are hit and miss, some people wanna play fair and other wanna cheat. You’re better off going to cytech.
Went in a while back to browse and find a few sets of dice. The staff members I interacted with were super friendly and let me know about some current gaming campaigns I may be interested in joining! I will definitely be visiting again
Fantastic local gaming hub. Nice selection of board and card games, clean store, friendly staff. All around a great atmosphere and we're so glad to have them in our neighborhood.
Plus they take no b.s. From anti-maskers. Which is a huge win in my book.
This place has the nicest staff. We came in looking for a gift for my husband. He wants to get back into playing D&D and they were super helpful! Definitely recommend this place!
Very friendly staff. Helped with me exactly what I was looking for and offered to help with a school project.
I called last week asking details about the vivid voltage event they had going on NOV 1st. I spoke to Josh, and he explained to me that we can come to the event and pay for the registration fee, that will allow us to get a battle pack, and there was no need to participate for the tournament nor we had to stay for the tournament. I explained to him this was my first time doing this for my kids and i want to make sure this is how its going to go down, reason being i had to drive about 45-50 minutes to get there. He reassured me that there will be enough battle packs and there shouldnt be any issues.
Well it was a waste of time, i left mad and two kids who were super upset, and no battle packs. The event guys told me to be able to get a battle pack i had to participate in the tournament, if i didnt i would had to wait for eveyone to sign up and then i can get a shot in buying a battle pack if there was any left, well to come find out there where probably 20+ people there and over hearing the staff they only had 20 battle packs in total. I explained to them what they told me over the phone and they didnt care and told me i would have to wait.
Fun, the most amazing staff, games galore, they have events, I'm attending Monday night magic, and Tuesday night d&d.
They have a 3-D printer! I downloaded plans for three minis for our Eberron campaign and they were able to Maker them for me *happy nerd dance*
Great variety, Friendly people, and a surprisingly awesome selection of holiday bundle discounted gifts.
Nice store.but they do not make any real effort to win your business.as souless as buying online.but with higher prices.
I will certainly give another chance. The store is great, perhaps just my impressions that day. I do not mind paying a little more to support a local businesses, especially Dragon's Lair as our neighborhood comic book shop.
The store is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Always helpful staff, great selection and prices and they'll order if not in stock. Game nights are very inviting but not as inviting as the kitty cats!
Don't bother trying to sell cards here.
Store credit only no cash option and will low ball on the store credit too!
Not to mention it takes them over 2 weeks to appraise a handful of cards.waste of time
