Drybar - River Oaks reviews
13My hair was very puffy. You have to really watch out and make sure they flatten your hair and small sections if you’re African-American.
Hair looked so good but omg the blow out legit lasted 10 minutes, honestly maybe even less. I work about a mile away and when I got back to work my hair was completely frizzed up and flat. I wanted to scream cry. It was so sad. I have extremely curly and frizzy hair that NEEDS product. Unfortunately, my stylist didnt use a single product besides a little bit of hair spray. Any one who has curly hair and lives in Houston, with the humidity, knows this is a recipe for disaster. Put it up in a bun to salvage what I could at work and then once I got home had to put product in and basically re- do it. Had a first date that night and this made me so self conscious and nervous about my hair. It was awful. Also, this is my second time at this Drybar and both times I had to at least wait 20 minutes before hand, please take this into account when you are scheduling for an event right after!
Staff is wonderful and I always leave happy with my hair, my one note is that they often run pretty late, usually 15 minutes but sometimes closer to 30-45 which can be frustrating.
Rude and unprofessional. Staff were completely unwelcoming and unfriendly. Would not recommend this location to anyone. Completely disappointing.
This was my first time ever stopping at a DryBar. I am on vacation and didn't want to spend time to do my hair after battling with this Texas heat. I made a same day appt and was seen on time. The staff was polite but my stylist Allysa (I think that is how you spell it) was absolutely amazing. I have really thick, long, and curly hair so I was unsure of how my hair would turn out but she did amazing. I would definitely recommend!
Miguel did my hair and was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and asked how I wanted my hair blown out - was happy to see pictures and took his time. I loved the end outcome. I would really recommend him to anyone.
The supervisor was completely unprofessional and spent ten minutes arguing with us even though we arrived within the grace period, they advised us of when we called to say we were running late. This was us despite stating we were from out of town, took an Uber 20 minutes away to get there and really needed their assistance. After arguing and pleading with them, which we should not have had to do, they, agreed to whatever they could in the 30 minutes still remaining. They never asked us what we wanted. Did not bring us water. Essentially treated us like garbage. The entire experience was stressful and contrary to what we needed given our already stressful day. Would never come here again. Almost seemed like they were more interested in having a 45 minute break than actually working. Complete it awful! I’m giving a 1 because you can’t give a zero.
I feel like one star is an extravagance. Lordy! I usually go to the Drybar in uptown. I thought I’d save time and grab a visit here. MISTAKE. “Zee” didn’t give me the smooth blow out I asked and paid for. My hair is frizzy and fly away. I look ridiculous. All she talked about was how she is moving to Austin “to open a new Drybar”. Austin, I wish you luck. It’s infuriating to come to a place for a style only to have to go home and do it yourself. I love Drybar, but this one is the pits. Seriously, don’t even consider it. I told several people I was not happy. They asked me how they could fix it. Since they had no idea and my expectations for any hair skill was already very low, I refused. What a horrible experience and colossal waste of money. Zee you are not good at hair! Shame on you Drybar!
Anahi did my blow out and she did amazing. My hair doesn’t hold curls very well so she made sure to put a bit extra product in to make sure it held longer than usual. It ended up lasting a few days even in the bad weather we had. Highly recommend.
Terrible service. The guy at the front was disrespectful and discriminatory. If you want to be treated with respect, don’t go here.
I showed up 10 minutes late (I mistakenly thought my appointment was at 7: 30 but it was at 7: 15). They said they couldn’t take me until 9 and then when I said that time didn’t work, they still wanted to charge me for “cancelling”.
I arrived on time to my appointment and 30 minutes later I’m still waiting. They need to post their scheduled appointment times more accurately.
I have been a Drybar customer from their early days back in the Bay Area. While I recognize that their work is great and they have very talented stylists, I must also say that punctuality is not their strength.
The last time I was there I had a 4: 15 appointment to which I showed up on time. There was no one in the front desk and frankly it wasn't busy. Finally someone acknowledged me and I was told to wait for my stylist, that it would take a minute. 15-20 min late my stylist finally came out of the staff room and I got a good blow dry. My point is not to comment on their services but their lack of punctuality, there is definitely room for improvement.
