DSA Dermatology – Dr Achtman & Dr McConnell, Plano TX

Excellent visit - never even sat down in the waiting room, went straight to a treatment room. His assistance came in immediately to discuss exactly what was the plan for this visit. Dr. Achtman came in shortly and did my examination, treated several places and we done. He and I visited about non-medical topics for a few minutes. I then made my next appointment and left the office. My partner, was there also and she was seen immediately after me and was out in a few minutes. Easy, pleasant and quick.

Dr. Achtman is very patient-centered. He has a way of making you feel comfortable no matter what condition you may have. He takes his time and explains things in a way that can be easily understood.

My experience at DSA Dermatology was great! I was greeted by Kerissa and she took care of me right away. Kerissa was very cheerful and inviting and was thorough with my skin concerns. Dr. Achtman was very understanding and kind while providing me with the best available treatment options. I had a lot of concerns and a lot of questions, but Dr. Achtman was very diligent and answered them all. Overall, my experience here was one to remember.

The doctor was absolutely great, along with the nurse assistant. This Doctor was very caring and patient; and by the way, good. My wife and I have two friends whom are doctors, so I don't automatically think that a doctor is great - just because their profession happens to be a doctor. I'm not apprehensive to ask questions or to disagree with a doctor that is treating me. This particular doctor is just plain good. No need to question him, I could tell very quickly.
The only concern was a secretary whom collected my insurance information during my first call to set up the appointment. I detected discrimination, like I might not be financially able to deserve to go their. This is due to the type of insurance I currently have; then she acted like she was surprised I could be living in the West Plano area - that was not an apartment. I could detect this during the call, but it did not affect my treatment.

My family has gone here for years for a variety of things: from marks to be removed, to cysts, and skin cancer and we have always had great experiences. Recently, we had an emergency and the ER told us a dermatologist was the only one who would know the diagnosis and treatment. Due to extenuating circumstances, we could not come to the office during regular hours. We called on Monday. The office staff worked with us to set up a virtual visit that same day. Dr. J Achtman went even further beyond extrodinary by arranging the needed procedure outside his normal hours. Further, he is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and takes as much time as is needed to make you aware of all the options so that you are an informed participant in your care. This office, it's staff, and family of doctors, are the most incredible you will find!

They were so professional and well organized. I was prepared for an office visit and then return on another day for the things I needed looked at but nope- handled everything the same day. Great experience! All the staff was amazing and his nurse- top notch even if she has the bad job of prepping me.
