Located in a great spot where it is needed by many.lots of lo income in área that benifit but facility is lacking.shower are similar to that of a homeless shelter and would be nice if the at least had doors and hair dryers like other locations.roundrock and oak claire are the best.

Love the membership prices, variety of group classes and the times they are offered, the ability to register and unregister for group exercise classes on the app, and the quality of the instructors. The online classes available (without the Les Mill upgrade) are all also fun and high quality. Overall, this has been the best gym membership I've ever had.

It is a smaller location, but the facilities are well maintained. If you are a weightlifter, you may want to find a more extensive gym. I witnessed unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from the Personal Trainer, Nicholas, on multiple occasions. Ultimately my family decided the membership was not worth it if we had to interact with an employee like that.

I had a poor experience with my membership and communication with the East Communities YMCA. I would not recommend them at this time.

The staff have been wholeheartedly welcoming until a gym coach came up to me to explain the rules of having shoes and socks on condescendingly in a Karen manner. It seemed like her word goes around there and simply the tone was just not okay, ruined the vibe of my workout and decided it wasn’t worth coming to this gym, wish I got her name because all the other staff there always treated me like family

YMCA of Austin

Was not great to work with. I was working on another local for the YMCA and went to the wrong local to meet him. He threw a fit on the phone, left a bad review and wonders why I did nt go visit him.

For the past 3-4 years, yes and through the 2020 pandemic, we have used, enjoyed and improved our fitness and health @ the East Communities YMCA, which we heartily recommend frankly to people of all ages. Fitness programs and exercises have been productive and helpful to our mental, emotional and physical health as we have recently moved into our 9th Decade.
Life in Austin has been measurably happy with our 11 children, their partners and 5 grand-children.
We certainly look forward to continuing our enjoyment of Life and our Fitness in the future.
Respectfully submitted,
Diane and Tom Maher

I loved the YMCA as a kid so I gave 4 well due stars but as an adult I can’t ever go back because memberships are $65 a month. And my tax documents aren’t reflective of my current income (which is $0). Its strange to me that student memberships are confined to 12-18yr olds. At that point call it a youth membership. College students like myself are as poor as teenagers in many cases and $25 WAY more reasonable. It’s a shame because I live in the neighborhood. But I guess that’s the theme these days in Austin.

Cool place. The gym is a bit small but there are plenty of quiet times to visit. The staff is top tier.

We love the Y! They'll watch my kids while I work out or use the facilities. Sometimes I just go to relax and use the internet. Love the pools. The classes offered are awesome. Sign up fast though because they do get booked up. Which is awesome. The staff is also super friendly and knowledgeable.

Like the variety of programs. Like the physical plant, the gym, the pool, the locker room, the overall building design. Like the friendly, courteous, helpful staff!

Yoga classes are fun and accessible. Weight room is well-equipped. Youth recreational sports. Friendly staff. Family membership very reasonable. Lots to love about this Y.
