El Charro Cafe reviews
16I love rellanos. What I don't like is for them to be super spicy. What they had will really good. If I had any complaining at all it was at service was a little bit slow and even my grandson's chicken nuggets super hot. The food was excellent, my grandson spilt his water and the waitress didn't even seem to let t affect her. Prices are very inline. We'll be back!
Sorry no photo to this review. Food was so good that I ate it all up before getting to my camera. I went with a friend from out of town and he said the food was authentic. Our server was nice and friendly. All the staff are friendly. It's like a mom and pops place. I definitely recommend!
Food today as ALWAYS was GREAT, but the waitress and cashier we're RUDE. I was SERIOUSLY SURPRISED, as I have NEVER been made feel this way at El Charro.
Had a Large menudo and a small breakfast taquito, and it was the bomb diggity! Thank you Vero!
Decent Tex-Mex food. Been goin here with family for long time like every other restaurant it has its good and bad days.
I order the chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce they were amazing. Full of flavor that just burst in your mouth from first bite.
My kids have grown up here. Loyal customers for a reason, best Ranchero sauce I've ever had.
These chicken quesadillas are the best I've ever had, paws down, just amazing they actually fill you up pretty well
One of the best hole in the wall establishments I've had in a few years. Totally just ran past it making a u-turn to get back to the freeway after the weirdest circle round about on the feeder bridge EVER
This place is so stinkin' good! My go to meal is the cheese enchiladas.they are so creamy and delicious! Best I've had! If you're into Menudo.my guy doesn't order anything other than that. He says it's the best in town! Family owned and ran. Very pleasant employees! The Chips are on point crispy and the salsa.mmmm.between 2 of us we ate 3 baskets of chips w/salsa, he had his menudo w/extra tortillas, I had my enchilada plate and 2 drinks and walked out paying $21 and change! You have to try it!
The parking lot is small, but there are more spots in the back. The building itself is unassuming, but indicative of a small Mexican food establishment. We were quickly seated after a short wait and drink orders were taken. The place is small, but they have as much seating as they can possibly provide. Our food orders were quickly taken and it was not long before exceptional food was delivered. The waitress was perfectly attentive and provided all our needs. The hostess who seated us also took our payment. She was charming and quite good at her job. These guys are professional and know how to move people and serve good food leaving happy customers in their wake.
Had breakfast tacos. Reasonably priced and ver tasty. Both the greena md red salsa went too spicy and had a lot of flavor. Open early for the morning drive into work
Not sure what happened this time. Right off the bat, our waitress was super rude. The place wasn't even full for her to be tired or overwhelmed at the moment. She was making faces at us while taking our order. She brought our drinks out & said "here" very rudely. Came back with our queso dip. All lumpy & cold. She saw my empty tea cup, but did not refill my drink at all after I asked her to. One of our plates was more sauce than meat or veggies. On another plate the meat was chewy & hard. My plate, the beans were cold. But the enchiladas & rice were good. Unfortunately, we will not be going back for dinner. Just go back for the chicharon tacos.: (
Dang it.wonder if we had a different waitress, things might of been different.
If you're looking for an authentic Mexican breakfast at the Heart of Texas, this is the place to go. Most places North of the RGV have a TexMex style that lack that México authenticity. Their salsas are delicious with just the perfect flavor for your dish. The staff makes you feel like you're eating at your family members home.
Food good depending on what you choose. We used to get the Menudo then they started serving days old Menudo.
