El Conquistador, Waco TX

Happened to stop in while on a recent road trip and was pleasantly surprised. The beer was ice cold, the carne guisada was flavorful.

To be honest, I didn't have high expectations when I walked in, however, after I was seated, my mind was quickly changed.

Daniela was my server and she is very attentive and made outstanding suggestions. She has a natural talent for hospitality and it's because of staff like her why there are so many positive reviews and the service here is unmatched!

You can bet that I'll be back again when passing through.

If you are an old white person with no taste buds then I would recommend this place to you. The fajitas where steamed with absolutely no grill marks and where dry. Do not recommend.

Best dinner I've had in a long time. They didn't have whiskey, but all in all a wonderful meal

Excellent Mexican restaurant! Traditional Mexican food you grew up with. Great polite service. Quality mexican food.

First time visit and I found the food excellent. A little disappointed by the Chile Con Carne as it was very light in color and had no meat - in Oklahoma and Arkansas our Con Carne is dark, juicy and full of spiced ground beef. Waitress was excellent. Margaritas we're not very good and reminded me of a lime slushy.

This restaurant has really good tex- mex food. My favorite go-to meals here are the beef & chicken enchiladas, Dona Maria & the crispy beef tacos. We have eaten and ordered takeout here for many years and are happy to have this Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood.

Fajitas for two our favorite of all.for a special romantic meal at home. Thanks ya'll!

2 of 8 guests experienced vomiting and intestinal distress (dia**hea) 30 minutes after leaving. Possibly due to soap on dishes or bacteria left on tableware. Atmosphere was o.k. Server did a decent job. Won't be back for obvious reasons.

Every Friday, my wife and I go to El Conquistador for lunch. The food is DELICOUS and the service is great. No matter who we get to serve us, they are always greeting with a friendly smile.

El Conquistador has never disappointed. This is hands down one of the best restaurants around. The food and service are always top-notch. Every time we come to Waco/Bellmead area, we stop in for lunch. There is no place here in Cedar Park that comes close to El Conquistador.

We normally eat at the Waco Drive location but will be eating here now. Great service and great food.

Nice laid back Mexican dining. Friendly staff. Good menu selection. Plenty of seating. Decor is a little outdated form the look of it. Timely food delivery and good taste (not the greatest Tex Mex but palatable).

Only major complaint is that the phone orders are played through a kitchen speaker and it disrupts all the tables dining experience.

Worst Tex-Mex I've ever had. Burnt chips, bad enchiladas, bad quesadilla, and awful tortilla soup.

The chicken for my quesadilla was at least a day old. It was gross, dry and overdone.

The waitress was curt and too busy.

1/10 do not recommend.

Awesome Tex-Mex! Great home made chips and salsa! The enchiladas and chimichangas were fantastic! Right off I35!

Not a pleasant experience. Long wait period and it was not particularly busy. The food was flavorless and overcooked.

Great homemade tasting Mexican food. My cheese filled chili rellano was perfect. Margaritas well balanced, large serving. Definitely will return to El Conquistado.
