El Oregano reviews
7Food is great and the service is good but the atmosphere can get really rowdy and unpleasant at times if management had better control of that it would be 5 stars
Excellent restaurant with very delicious food and high-quality homemade flavor clean spaces and very good service!
recommended for the whole family!
Went to Starbucks before deciding to sit down and eat somewhere and came across this restaurant to try out for the first time. But as soon as we walked in we were turned away for walking in with our own coffee. It was a little sad to see a small owned business loose out in making a forever customer over coffee.
Ended up trying Tacos El Vaquero on beltway 8 and Sabo. They had no problem with our own coffee.
I really liked the food. I got the tacos Al Vapor de chicharrón and my wife got the milanesa de res. The food was perfect and there wasn’t any complaints. I really liked the tortillas of the tacos and how they tasted. Having repollo on the side was also really nice and the salsas tasted excellent. My wife loved the milanesa. Unfortunately we ate it all up too quickly and couldn’t take a picture!
Small establishment corner Fuqua-Kingspoint.
Food made like northern Mexico, real mexican flavor. Flavor, variety and consistency. Made with love. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Family owned, family run. Mother and daughters prepare, cook and serve.
I haven't enjoyed food like this in the US for a very long time. Brought memories.
If you like real mex food this is the place. Home made machaca (dehydrated meat), real chile relleno with picadillo, very clean tasting menudo. Three meals in two days in same place, I've broken all my records.
I'm sure you'll love it. Enjoy.
I believe my mom is back in the kitchen cooking.
The food is very good, good service and nice people in the office. I loved beans and meat.keep moving forward
My cousin and I came to El Oregano for lunch. We were served complimentary thick corn tortilla chips and excellent red salsa. My cousin had "guisado de res" which is a type of beef stew. I had "tacos al vapor" with a meat of my choice. So I ordered two corn tortilla tacos with barbacoa and two corn tortilla tacos with chicken in a green salsa. It came with a side of shredded cabbage. I had a mango flavored agua fresca. It was mildly sweet and really refreshing. The food reminded me of my mom's cooking from decades ago.
I even ordered menudo to take home. I ate some of the next two days and really liked it. The menudo has a lot of flavor with both tripe and hominy. I stored it in my refrigerator so the fat in the menudo congealed at the top and I was able to remove it.
I'm so glad I found this little Mexican Food restaurant. The cook and her daughter operate this restaurant. I could tell that they take pride in their food. I will definitely be back to have more different dishes from this warm and cozy little restaurant. Also it's next door to a very good bakery.
