El Patio Restaurant reviews
14 This is my second time That I got enchiladas and they was sorry the food was cold l
paid $13 for a half order never again since the new mgmt the food just not good any more.
My girlfriend and I came in sat down, ordered drinks, and proceeded to wait 15 minutes without receiving attention. This place is not LGBT+ friendly.
It is the best place I’ve ever been! The food is VERY delicious, the service is great, margaritas are wonderful and the price is perfect! El patio is the best. I’m so lucky that I found this place!
Food was fantastic, service was great. We love these smaller family restaurants instead of the big chain ones. One of our favorites!
Old school Austin TexMex, generous portions at reasonable prices. Food freshly prepared and served hot. Hipsters looking for a trendy scene probably wouldn't enjoy it. Good spot for a family meal.
Service was good and friendly however the food was horrible. This is NOT the place you’re looking for if you want AUTHENTIC Mexican food. They don’t even have any other type of salsa other than the one that they serve with their chips.
Been eating at this place since I was a kid in the 90s. The food is absolutely unchanged in only the best ways, their cheese enchiladas are the best you will find in Austin. Smothered and stuffed with cheese.
Had a great lunch this past Sunday with family. Food was great as well as the service. El Patio has the best chips in town! The true test of a great Tex-Mex restaurant! Has always been a family favorite!
I regularly take my neighbor here for take or take out. They are always Friendly. Thank you El patio!
The food was gross and I get it I’m not gonna like all the food I eat. But the waitress didn’t even acknowledge the fact that I didn’t eat ANY of my food. She was rude and just ruined it.
The food was average but the drinks was good. The service was slow even though, they were not really busy. I would not recommend. I feel this place has been hyped up due to how long it has been around. I have had better experiences at other Mexican restaurants.
I have been eating at El Patio since I was a little girl and I'm in my early 60's. The tradition and food at this restaurant is the same as it was 10,20,30,40, even 50 years ago! No matter what Mexican restaurant you go to, the food is a little different and it is really a matter of taste. To me El Patio IS the TexMex I grew up with and I still love it today! I can remember when they served crackers instead of chips before your meal.
I suppose that is one tradition that has changed, but I love that you still get a side of warm tortillas with your meal. Most TexMex restaurants stopped doing that somewhere along the way. The service is always great, the food is consistently delicious, and I hope they are around for another 70 years! Kudos to the Joseph grandsons who have kept this Austin staple going!
Best enchiladas ever! The cheese and sauce they use is incredible. The chicken enchiladas are my fav. Even under new ownership the food is still amazing.
We stopped in here a while back and figured it was time for another visit this afternoon. Thank goodness we did because it was just what we were looking for! The hubbs and I enjoyed margaritas (well, rocks, salt), which were $6 each and excellent. We decided to try the "Crispy Tacos", which are served open faced, like a chalupa, on shells that are homemade daily. We opted for the Taco Supreme version - beef, lettuce, tomato, & guacamole. We got a full order of 3 at $11.50 and added cheese for 50 cents more. Following a basket of the best tortilla chips in Austin (the salsa was up there on the scale, too), we were both more than satisfied, and I only had one taco! Ceasar was our amazing bartender and floor manager and wonderful to chat with during our visit. Same as we said last time - we will be back!
